  1. Hope I am wrong, but our offense could easily make this strategy work As well as this team can play, our O tends to have off days
  2. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 04:28 AM) In case you haven't noticed, a lot of playoff games end up that way. One of their wins was by one run also, another was by Santana, who we wouldn't see, and the other they won 10-7 in a slug fest. K-Rod did pitch one of the games by the way (allowed an earned run after starting the inning and left the bases loaded), and as I said, I think in terms of team impact, Frank and Vlad is about a draw (Frank's first two games off the DL were in the series). I like our chances if you lineup our rotation against theirs. Contreras got two starts against them, that won't happen in the playoffs. Also, we've scored more runs and our pen has a better ERA. Sorry Zoom, I am the biggest Frank supportter there is out here, but he and Vlad are not a draw. Frank of the early 90s was much better than Vlad, FRank of the late 90s was a draw to Vlad of today, but the Frank of today is not a draw with Vlad of today. And again, I got some serious man-love for Frank focking Thomas. Stats to compare for 2005 (this is just offensive stats, Vlad is obviously a better fielder than Frank) Frank: 0.246 AVG, 10 HR, 18 RBI, 0.357 OBP, 0.710 SLG, 0 SB, 17 H in 24 G/69 AB Vlad: 0.348 AVG, 15 HR, 48 RBI, 0.405 OBP, 0.607 SLG, 6 SB, 85 H in 64 G/244 AB
  3. What can I say other than FRANK FOCKING THOMAS
  4. They are good enough to be in the postseason, but look at how they do against quality pitching and quality teams Beating Tampa Bay is one thing....beating the ANgels and Red Sox in the playoffs with their pitching and batting line up is another Enjoy this season....I am doing it too.....but hopefully Kenny realizes this team may have issues in the playoffs and does something about it
  5. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Yesterday was my birthday (7476) and I was supposed to go to a barbeque. Well, I went there with my girlfriend and 5 minutes later a limo showed up. It was my ride to the Sox game. So we got my dad and headed to a local bar. A bunch of my friends were waiting there for us. We gathered them up and headed to the park. AT the park, I had about another 10 friends. It turns out my girlfriend had organized a patio party for all of us. It was great. I couldn't have been more surprised and delighted. I had a great birthday, despite the rain, and got to see my favorite team. And I have tickets to go again tonight....30 over, here we come. Maybe you should have your girlfriend's pic in the sig instead of this other babe
  6. I jus stuffed in a 100 It seems it is a close race right now GET PODS IN FOCKING BASTAGES.....LET'S GET TO WORK FELLAS
  7. So if McCarthy is going down, does it mean that El Duque is back to being ready to pitch after the AS game?
  8. Come on Count, you bastage.....keep this thing going The O is bound to wake up some time
  9. This amalgamation of the threads is a bad bad bad idea No one knows which page is really worth reading ....and even if you constantly follow every page, the next time you get on, you need to remember where you dropped off the last time Just not fun that way....stupid idea no doubt
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) .256/.321/.394 Uribe?
  11. Neither I would love to have Mike Morse as our SS right now.... The guy is hitting 0.395, 1 HR, 9 RBI, 2 SB, 0.461 OBP in 24 games Yeah, small sample size but he looks promising. Please note I am not whining about the Freddie trade. I still think it was a great trade as we have a solid starting pitching core for now and the near future, and I have no qualms with the trade whatsoever given hindsight is always 20/20......but it sure would look promising right now if we had Morse playing on this team. A grinder like him low in the order would be awesome....with that average he would have 3 times the RBI here and at least 3 times the runs scored with Pods, Guch, Frank batting after him (assuming he would play in the #9 hole)
  12. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines The White Sox confirmed that the bat from the statue of Sox great Minnie Minoso was broken over the weekend at U.S. Cellular Field. :fthecubs
  13. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 03:40 AM) After Uribe's triple... DJ: "Welcome back, Mr. Excitement." :uhoh
  14. I walk into the game thread and we score the run and we get two men on base too
  15. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) So how many innings have we gone now without scoring a focking run? Bastages My name is KARMA
  16. So how many innings have we gone now without scoring a focking run? Bastages
  17. This is a big one for us to win the series....with Jesus Prior returning on Sunday, I would prefer to have the series won So be patient boys and make Maddux work on his pitches. That way we will be in the BP by the 6th inning and then we can rip them apart EAT s*** CUBS
  18. What can you say other than tip the hat and look forward to bigger and better things This offense has become so much better since Frank has returned....anyone else notice that? Frank had a HR, a walk that led to a run and a sac fly RBI today... yeah he is done Keep it up boys.....you have made all Sox fans so proud with this awesome season.....no need to stop now
  19. If Joe became a solid 0.275, 25 HR, 75 RBI guy, I would probably be so happy that I would force all my neighbours to leave when a Sox game would be on If he becomes that kind of hitter in the second half of the year, the Series may be where we are headed folks
  20. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) Just one........for now LOL BASTAGE
  21. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) To Joe To bad it coudnt come in a closer game! Seeing him use an opposite field swing brought tears of joy in my eyes Our kids might have finally grown up....sigh
  22. Just hit an OPPOSITE....YES I REPEAT OPPOSITE (AKA NOT PULLING) field HR ----------------------- If Joe can pan out to even a 0.275 hitter by end of this year, this is going to be one hell of a year for us Sox fans with Jon and Joe panning out
  23. This should be a fun series all in all.....bring it on Cubbies
