Great sweep for the Sox. When you play crappy teams like the Dodgers, the Sox have to win the series at minimum and do everything possible to actually sweep One note though - keep in mind that the winnign run was actually a lucky run since Pods looked out at 1B.....no biggie just a note. In a bang-bang play, who knows whether he was really out or not ONe more note - the ESPN announcers were certainly giving a lot of praise to the White SOx. I loved it

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 07:00 AM) from urbandictionary.com 1. fock another way of saying f*** without being bleeped out on message boards. Form of "f***" used for emphasis when used as an adjective. The "O" apparently gets people's attention when they see it. "I'm a fOckin badass" "That's FOCKIN NUTZ MAN!!!!"

Here is Ozzie's reaction to Carl's craziness.....you have to love it =================== Stand by your man Carl Everett declined to elaborate on comments he made in the July issue of Maxim magazine in which he questioned gay marriage, the intelligence of fans and Wrigley Field. "I'm not reiterating," Everett told a few reporters. "You got what I said the first time." Said Guillen: "Carl is Carl. I'm not going to criticize Carl because I have a bigger mouth than he does."

White Sox possibly looking at Sean Burroughs
sox-r-us replied to Cubs Suck23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Guillen: "There aren't too many Joe Credes out there" I agree with the coach here. I have yet to see a single MLB player that is as dumb as this guy. This guy gets the off speed low and outside and he goes fishing every single time trying to put it in the LF seats.....result = K or a pop up or if lucky a foul to only see it happen again -
I missed the game....just so the box score What can I say? I can only imagine the chat room when we were down 6-1 ....about to be swept And then it all changes And who FOCKING starts this s***????? YES YOU MOTHER FOCKERS, IT IS FRANK THOMAS BABY Yes, that same guy who Kenny would trade to keep his lover boy Everett on the roster HELL YEAH....GREAT WIN.....SOX YET TO BE SWEPT EAST s*** DBACKS....YOU BASTAGES

Bill Mueller could be traded to the White Sox

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Are you suggesting the Sox try and acquire Nomar, or is there a Nomar clone out there that I am not aware of? Injuries aside, acquiring a SS like Nomar is damn near impossible without giving up the farm. When he is healthy(which isnt very often) there arent many better hitters in the league. If Neifi continues to do well, the Cubs might trade Nomar since they rather improve elsewhere and Nomar is signed only through end of this year anyways. I am suggesting I rather help the Cubs and get a stud SS back (who when healthy would be awesome for this lineup) than help another AL contender by getting their one year fluke 3B -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) I have thought about this deal over a month now, and considering a writer suggested a similar thing, I thought I would post it. The deal makes sense for both teams, its a definite possibility that I wouldn't doubt both are looking into, and if there isn't room for Mueller on the Red Sox, I would love to root for him on the Southside. So no, this isn't the most recent trade idea I have thought of, nor does it not make sense for both teams. I am not known for starting threads of that nature, and never will be known for starting threads of that nature. The deal does not make sense at all for the White Sox. Why should they help a team who coudl easily beat them in the post season by giving them something that is most difficult to get (pitching)?????? The Sox can get 3B upgrades elsewhere (Randa for sure and maybe even Castilla if the Nats do fall out of it). Hell they should get a SS like Nomar and move Uribe to 3B before tradign Marte away for Bill-I-had-one-great-year-Mueller -

Why should the White Sox help out another AL team trying to contend? Get Randa or Vinny Castilla instead. -
And now I hear we will miss Gagne too http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...t=.jsp&c_id=mlb

Ozzie loves benching Frank so no surprise if he does not play today....

My trade idea is definitely not more realistic than others. Hence I called it a suggestion. My trade ideas are definitely not motivated off of fantasy baseball. I play fantasy football but I will definitely never play fantasy baseball (unless I am willing to be thrown out of my family ) Trade ideas are purely for fun, and like you said, purely harmless conjecture. Though I would argue anything EVER posted on a message board is purely harmless commentary/conjecture. I know you are not trying to get personal on me regarding this. No harm taken. As we get closer to trade deadline, there will be more concrete ideas/rumors to go off and debate. Currently though, we will have to live with arbitrary ideas, hopefully most of which are founded off some semblance of reality. Cheers

When we start getting casual fans like that, we know we have arrived like the CUbs in terms of attendance.

How has our O done against stud pitchers???? We got owned by Santana. We got owned by Prior. And we got owned by Zambrano. I cannot remember us beating a stud pitcher yet. Do you have faith in the playoffs on this lineup against a healthy Curt Schilling or Matt Clement or Radke or Santana or any of the Angels starters followed by Donnelly, Shields and KRod???? I sure as hell do not. Also do you have faith that Buerhle or Garland can shut down the Angels or Bo Sox or Twinkies line up? Again, I sure as hell do not. Say what you want but this team has been amazingly lucky in terms of how it has missed playing against stud players/pitchers. We have played against: 1 series vs Os without Sosa (and we went 2-2) 2 series vs Angels without Guerrero (and we went 4-3) 3 (?) series vs Twinkies without Morneau (until now) 1 series vs Padres without going up against Peavy or Eaton (and we went 2-1) 2 (?) series vs Tigers without Maggs (until now) 1 series vs Cubs without Wood (and we went 2-1) And I know there are some more out there.... PS: We will miss Wood and Prior again most likely against the Cubs.

Vasquez will own us I fear.... Zona has one of the worst BPs in the league. If our pathetic hitters would start seeing more pitches, we might get to their BP. Otherwise it will be trouble again...

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Thanks, Jim. I see them as harmless myself. I'm confused as to what promotes such thinking. That's why I associated them with fantasy baseball leagues. Some, if not most, appear to be completely arbitrary. Anyone can pull names out of a hat, and with a bit of baseball knowledge, the proposed trades can be made to sound reasonable. Indeed, many of the threads make good sense strategically, but I don't see the purpose in discussing things that have no basis in reality. The discussions can be interesting and fun, I guess. There is some basis in reality here nv. Go read my 1st post again. The trade deadline is coming up soon and we have enough data from our team to recognize where our flaws are where we should upgrade. You know all of the other contenders will do the same. The Giants will be selling soon (Tim Kurkijan reported he was confident this would happen based on some of the talks he has had with execs around the league and with the GIants). It does not take a genius to figure that out. We do need an upgrade at 3B primarily and maybe SS secondarily. Look at our O #s compared to rest of league. Also, if Kenny can figure out a way to bench Crede and make Uribe play 3B he will do it. Then look at the #s Omar has against righty pitching and Uribe's # agaiunst lefty pitching. Then look at how Uribe sucks against righty pitching. And how Crede sucks against any (pop warner) pitching. Kenny did love Omar. Yes they had some fall out based on where he landed, but professionals do not let personal feelings get in the way of doing what their job is. Kenny's job is to get us to the Series and win it. Omar does mitigate a lot of the chemistry concerns a team like ours has making a trade when we have the best record in the league. Omar also brings a veteran, play off tested resume to the dug out, which can only help when the pressure builds in Sept and Oct. ===================== Now if all that you are looking for is for people to only post based off someone reporting this is close to happening then what is the point of a message board. If that is your definition of posting off reality, you can get that info at any sports website (ESPN, CNNSI etc). Just because we are not GMs or reporters does not mean we cannot throw ideas out there to discuss. Read my 1st post again....I said this is something Kenny should consider. What part of "consider" do you not understand?
