  1. You're comparing apples to oranges, Kalapse. Horrible example. You're talking about a guy giving a friendly reward to a team for their accomplishments in allowing his team to win the division. It's completely different for somebody (Bonds no less) to reward a pitcher because the pitcher on the final day of the season allowed his record to stay in tact. Yes, I'd be pissed and feel hatred towards that player. I wouldn't be angry about the reward, I would be angry at how big of a selfish prick that player was.
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) How safe are they above you? As safe as the people who surround you.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/na...-home-headlines creepy insight. Thanks for sharing that. Good article.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) They actually said he may be of mexican decent in that conference did they not? http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=67f_1176750363&p=1
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) I would like to think that if I was in this situation, that I would have tried to attack the guy who was shooting. Most likely I would have tried to run and got shot though. I'm surprised a post like this hasn't been made yet. Perhaps I'm just strange, but because of the tragic events of 9/11, regardless of where I am, the thought of the worst possible outcome comes to my mind. For instance, I step foot on an airplane and I wonder just how nobody went after the terrorists when they were being threatened by box cutters. Hindsight, as always, is 20/20 but I have to think that if I am in this classroom and likely to be shot, I'm doing whatever I can to get that gun out of his hand by throwing my backpack, throwing a desk, a book, a pencil, etc. This post has been edited by the Soxtalk staff to remove objectionable material. 6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) I'll take that bet. I second that. I've only been here for so long but the "Joe Crede to win the MVP" this year statement is the dumbest thing I've heard on this site thus far.
  7. I thought the Chicago Machine were the professional lacrosse team in our city?
  8. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) If I was her, I would probably return the couch. I'd probably take full advantage of this opportunity knowing that free furniture would be coming my way, nonetheless, I wouldn't look at the couch or sit in the couch and think "Oh... My... God.. that couch... is a n***** couch!"
  9. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 06:54 AM) Oh, come on! Completely agree. That statement is insanity.
  10. McCann over Mauer? Anybody who thinks this way want to explain.
  11. You have to remember he's still only 26 years old. He could take a year off to solely exercise and rest his arm and he'd still be back before the start of his "prime" years.
  12. http://www.thestar.com/article/200265 Don Imus painted his house this color.
  13. As witesoxfan indicated in his post, this team might be the favorite with both Hansbrough and Lawson returning. I wonder if Roy can convince Wright to stay another year. That's a scary thought.
  14. I'm hearing rumors of Conley reassessing his commitment to Ohio State on word given to him by NBA scouts that he'll be a lottery pick if he leaves now. It fascinates me that this kid wasn't even on the draft radar to start the year, nonetheless, he's a hell of a point guard, probably the best in the draft.
  15. Was the stripper even remotely attractive? I've never seen photos.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) It's amazing how hyped up Jason Varitek has become thanks to ESPN. Alot of his hype can be attributed to ESPN, but everyone around baseball for the last few years has called him the best clubhouse presence in the game, someone who can change a decent pitcher into a good one with his game calling, etc. Not to mention, the Red Sox labeling him as their "captain." I wouldn't pick him, but Texsox has a point.
  17. Miller Park is an excellent ballpark to watch a game. I'm down.
  18. With Four-A fodder rounding out the other 22 on the roster, you would without question need one ace starting pitcher. Along with the ace of my staff, I choose a Centerfielder and a Short Stop. So my team looks like this: Grady Sizemore, Jose Reyes, Felix Hernandez. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:51 AM) Anyone value veteran leadership on the field every day? Sure, but wouldn't guys like Chris Widger, Eduardo Perez, etc. who could be had for the minimum easily be enough veteran leadership?
  19. Was Imus wrong to say that on public radio? Yes. Are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton two of the biggest racists on this planet? Yes. Screw them all.

  21. Ohio St looks like dog here in the first half. I don't see them being able to come back against Florida like they did against Tennessee.
  22. For the record: Santana: 6 IP, 7 H, 4 Runs Bedard: 5 IP, 10 H, 6 Runs Schilling: 4 IP, 8 H, 5 Runs Pavano: 4.1 IP, 6 H, 5 Runs Kazmir: 5 IP, 6 H, 5 Runs Lowe: 4 IP, 8 H, 6 Runs Zambrano: 5 IP, 6 H, 5 Runs
  23. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 12:29 AM) I'm shocked you didn't go to BW3 or someplace with all the feeds. You knew they'd jump around games, which they should. Chicago isn't exactly the SIU hotbed that would require exclusive, no cut-in coverage of the game. The vast majority of people up here want to see the close games. Which is why I wish ESPN/ABC/Disney had purchased the rights to the tournament. Ugh.. Atleast 2011 is around the corner..
