Gamethread: White Sox(18-24) vs Marlins (22-22) 1:05 PM CSN,
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 23, 2010 -> 03:04 PM) Significantly worse. He hit about .100 in April. I'd be ok with him hitting 8th or 9th a few times a week tops. But in the 5 hole??? That's more of my problem with it but I guess everyone sucks in our lineup so it doesnt matter

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 23, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) Kotsay's actually hitting .286 with an .888 OPS in May, coming into this game. And for the year?

QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) Wow, Rios is so awesome. And Kotsay is the polar opposite, as our #5 hitter. What a joke.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 23, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) I thought Kotsay was the emergency pitcher. Whoever it is we definitely should work R Williams as long as possible and then if its 8-0 or more we should go to one of those guys to wrap it up, work RW until his arm is spent and lets not waste another pen guy

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 23, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Some fan you are. You should move here and get season tickets if you're a real fan. LOL!! Speak of the devil Teahen makes a nice play at Third, too bad he didn't do it in the first though

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 23, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) Dude it's May, Sunday, and 80 something freaking degrees and gorgeous outside today and our team is close to 10 games under .500. Dude, I don't live in Chicago, I live overseas

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) No, no, that's just super-quick range. He's lulling the other team into trying to bunt on him by appearing outwardly to be akward in his fielding mannerisms. Teahen looks like a 3 legged dog out there

Gamethread: White Sox(18-24) vs Marlins (22-22) 1:05 PM CSN,
Should Teahen have had Hanley's shot at 3B? Seems like he never makes that play...

Gamethread: White Sox(18-24) vs Marlins (22-22) 1:05 PM CSN,
Ughhh. Mark Kotsay in the 5 hole with his massive 7 RBI's. So annoying.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 22, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) Yeah, Hawk's not typically known for getting excited in the booth. A clear sign Nice sarcasm, very funny. hahahahaha

Gamethread: White Sox(17-24) vs Marlins (22-21) 1:05 PM CSN
Interesting to hear how excited Hawk was to get that 4th run, which to me is an absolute sign he has no faith in Bobby right now going in even with a 2 run lead....anyone else get this feeling??

I like Thornton better against righties for some reason, don't know what the numbers show however...

You probably don't send him there if Beckham wasn't struggling so bad

That ball definitely hit his foot. Nice break there for our Sox

QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) Castro is sooooooooooo bad. He'll be out of baseball after this season. Interesting you say that, how many others on this squad will be out of baseball after this year? I can name around 4: Castro R Williams Kotsay Visquel So 16% of our roster will be out of baseball next year perhaps. Is that semi normal or pathetic? I think it borders on the pathetic

16-24
When we started 16-24 in 1983, I wonder how many people were calling for LaRussa's head and I wonder what the mentality of the ballclub was at that time. No question we're going to hit better and get better starting pitching the rest of the year. We all can agree that our starting staff's ERA won't be in the 5's all year nor will we be hitting .236 all year. Maybe we'll hit .237, but it will be higher than .236 :-P

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 21, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) How bout a winning streak? Sox don't believe in those. Did we have one over six games last year? I would doubt it. I don't think we did. We're one 8 game winning streak from being back in it, we need to make it happen now. This is why I am calling for it to begin TONIGHT!!!!

16-24
It happened in 83, and will happen again in 2010. Let's have some faith! The incredible run begins tonight! :-)

White Sox vs Royals 5-16-10 @ 1:10 pm
I REALLY believe that Thome is faster than Kotsay. Call me crazy but on that 22 hopper/slow developing double play ball to second he was still thrown out by 3 steps

White Sox vs Royals 5-16-10 @ 1:10 pm
QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Kotsay is so damn slow. Who didn't see that coming? Kotsay at 1.5 M playing DH 90% of the time Thome at 1.5 M playing DH 100% And I think Thome is FASTER than Kotsay!! Who would you rather have?!?!?!?!? DFA his ass this organization is a joke

White Sox vs Royals 5-16-10 @ 1:10 pm
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 16, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) Sending Beckham down won't help us win games. He's old enough and mature enough to be in the majors. He has to ride it out up here and show what he's got. Team is going nowhere either way. Going down will not help him or the team. Playing Omar and Nix is no better. Right now I think Visquel gives us a better chance starting everyday at 2B, which is really sad to say
