How well did that 2000 offense work in the postseason? I know, completely different teams, similar approaches to beating teams though…at any rate, so many small things in terms of fundamentals and execution killed and continue to hurt the Sox, stuff that doesn’t usually make it into the box score. At any rate, let’s see how Burger and Sheets look for another week. Still lean towards Burger back in Charlotte everyday, but that calculus is moving in the direction of needing to retain Burger to eventually replace Moncada (sooner rather than later if no postseason). Things will very likely change again, and quickly.

If you’re playing Vaughn in LF everyday and don’t use those at-bats for Grandal to rest or to balance the lineup out with Sheets. Pollock hitting and Moncada returning can help to mitigate some of the issues against RHP.

Other than Max Muncy and Moustakas, there's not been a 2B that size in the majors playing on a regular basis in recent years. Without looking, I would guess their DRS and fielding ratings aren't all that stellar, either.

The Jarred Kelenic Appreciation Thread
caulfield12 replied to Harold's Leg Lift's topic in The Diamond Club
We can go back to hating Tatis, Jr., on June 7th... That is if he doesn't do something else that's patently asinine. Tough tough year for rookies to break in with offense down across the board. I guess Torkelson's hanging in there as well as anyone for now. At some point in late May or early June, Kelenic will lose even more playing time to Kyle Lewis (probably send to AAA again). Not sure how Taylor Trammell's doing (his other competition), but my guess is the offense is more Lewis Brinson than Luis Robert. -
1980 Willie Wilson and Omar Moreno ruled the basepaths haha. McEwing will never "betray" Tony, Jirschele won't be given the reigns in the idle of the window...that leaves Cairo and Jerry Narron. Maybe Carlos Beltran would be one of the most popular choices...but has a shadow around him? Scioscia, no way. Bochy, he turned down SD where he already used to manage

Does that include Spring Training and Game 4? I think those were aggregated to come up with that number. -

What was the sophisticated analysis that would help us all understand that Eloy actually wasn't injury prone and was just a victim of "poor luck" or unusual/mitigating circumstances? -

Like giving up our own competitive balance pick to the rest of the division...except better...just for the heck of it. -
4-11 the last 15. Addison Reed finally wavered down the stretch run.

What was the owner's name in that movie...Rachel Phelps or something like that? Ages since watching, but one of the best. Plug we have the Johnny Cueto/Eddie Junkball Harris comp already going.

What The Actual F# Is Wrong With This Team?

You left out the last couple of weeks of the 2008 season...that was just a battle for survival after Quentin went down. Oh, and Alexei grand salamis. -

It was Allen Thomas this past offseason, and isn't Herm still emiritus or something like that? -

Leury Garcia from what he started out as, lol. Well you have Narvaez and McCann. Bummer, I guess. Avi Garcia? Alejandro de Aza? Joking. But in all seriousness, that recent moment when they were lauding the farm system for all those first rounders making an impact...Fulmer Collins Burdi Rodon and Madrigal all gone now, poof! Crochet injured. Vaughn out of position.
