  1. We need that ambidextrous guy, Greg A or Greg W.Harris. There was another the last decade...
  2. Only need 2B, RF, starter, LHR, and backup catcher. The Score post game call in "five prospects for one" established player special.
  3. Good idea not to double up on that with Kimbrel anywhere near the mound...bubble wrap him.
  4. Well, now we'te close to reaching the point of worst Sox offseason ever. Just reinforces the compelling pitching need...and the once a generation nature of Chris Sale as a beanpole lefty holding out for a decade before major injury.
  5. Need to wait for the video and PTAC. Just going by Brantley description. He was more concerned with minor leaguers hitting against him and especially Akiyama going lefty lefty before he even got to the plate.
  6. Hard to imagine there's not going to be another long list of pitching injuries again this year...similar to 2020. Hopefully this phenomenon with pitchers at high velo and the Tatis injury will be a lesson to owners about the consequences of all their "assets" going for months and months without any team medical attention during the offseason.
  7. Was a ball way off the mark and dropped his arm to the side almost simultaneously...
  8. The positive there is that Jimenez and Robert have so much power that it doesn't really matter because the XB hits will come regardless...but it's definitely a boost of 30-40 points on Eloy's batting average if he can hit against the shift/s occasionally. The big mystery continues to be what happened to 2019 Moncada? Long Covid seems to be the simplistic explanation, but there's a lot more to it than that. Crochet at 98. Brantley feeling sorry that Akiyama's hitting lefty against him. CROCHET HURT. GREAT.
  9. Going back to the comparisons with Valentin as a SH with pronounced splits and when quite a few wanted him (Moncada) to give up hitting RHed at all. Haseley looks great in the box score right now, but that "double" should have been caught and his first hit was a gork shot flared into LF. At least he took a walk and maybe that will help him rebuild some confidence.
  10. Same with Harrison...3 up, 3 down for Crick. No way they would be taking Foster, Burr and Ruiz over Kyle...would/could they? TLR must inherently love anyone who pitched in the NL Central. Also, looks like they really want to get Haseley as many at-bats as possible from him and see what they actually have on their hands.
  11. I'm not sure how familiar Brantley is with the White Sox individual hitters, but he was adamant about pitching them inside instead of letting them dive out and over the plate. At the beginning of the game, his big excuse for Greene was simply that he was getting behind in counts.
  12. Gavin Sheets with a very nice game. Crick in. Was there a B game that Kimbrel might have pitched in again like last time?
  13. Worts or warts, it's filled with a lot of SOMETHING. Wish there was a way to just turn the clock back to the TDL last summer and start over again, but that only works with bad drives in golf.
  14. Well, I should have phrased it that Greene was attempting to keep the fastballs high and above the hands...whereas 95% of left-handed hitters love the ball down and can much more easily get around on those pitches. It's essentially the same issue that Bellinger has been struggling with all spring...swinging underneath everything, but it certainly doesn't help when he has so much head motion, going from a high upright stance and then dipping down roughly 18 inches into his approach to the ball. It's almost impossible for him to keep tracking the ball with that much head movement.
  15. Well, now Romy is finally into the game...Burger and Mendick as well making up the left side of the INF.
  16. Brantley arguing you have to come in under the batter's hands against the Sox or they "will beat your brains in" letting them dive out over the plate and drive the ball. Have to put some fear into batter's minds, etc. Haseley gunned down at home by Farmer on a weak grounder to SS, Anderson back to the bag at second. Wild pitch, both runners move up a base.
  17. Velasquez finally gets the K with a breaking ball on 9th place hitter Aristides Aquino. Almost gave up a second homer to India on a hanger but Haseley caught it in LF. Bullet down the RF for a double down the line, Engel bobbled the ball for what should have been an E-9. LIneout to Harrison at second ends the inning, still 7-1.
  18. Shades of Royce Clayton and Mark Johnson... Around MLB, Derek Holland trying to catch on with the Red Sox...Matty Davidson still hanging around with AZ, Trayce Thompson and Mazara with Padres but highly unlikely for either to make the team.
  19. Groundout, HBP, pop out and K...Kopech through 8 hitters, 2 IP, 2 K's Sheets walk. Wonder if this is the year that Abreu starts to really fall off...he's 35 now, right? Of course, this has been claimed roughly 1000 times already at SoxTalk, 75% of the time by Ron883.
  20. go to chisox.com and click on live, eventually you will get to Reds' radio link, but I have MLB Gameday Audio and MLB.tv so not sure if it's free or not Looks like they haven't solved the stolen base issues with basically all our pitchers and catchers...what new?
  21. Sheets made a nice diving stop at 1B...hard hit ball. Sheets "pretty quick and covered a lot of ground in a hurry" according to Brantley.
  22. Romy was definitely on the MLB.com starting line-up in RF, Brantley even called it a Romy catch at the fence earlier. Guaranteed if we trade Romy to the Cardinals he would win NL ROY somehow.
