  1. Yeah, we can never have enough of these guys. Of course, we could have just paid legit money for Taylor and not had to juggle so many question marks in the line-up.
  2. They pretty much have to do something with all the uncertainty around Kopech…just not getting hopes too high it’s someone like Montas.
  3. Would take Crick over Burr or Foster…
  4. Well, we had a huge bump from Hamilton, Yermin and Goodwin out of the blue last year, maybe this year Haseley or Cuiffo…why not?
  5. Just listened briefly. Was at 97 again. Clevinger got totally destroyed, fwiw. Did that pulled early from inning, return start of next and got pulled again trick. TA7 on Sox lineup, pre-Vaughn injury "I would hate to be a pitcher. From top to bottom, you are going to be competing every at-bat," Anderson told me during a recent conversation. "If you miss your spots, and guys are having a good day, it's going to be a long day. Guys are going to pretty much get you. "We have some good hitters, some good solid contact hitters who will always put the bat on the ball. We got some speed in there, some power. We've got a little bit of everything. Guys are going to give you some good ABs. We got another year under our belt, so a lot more mature and kind of now we understand our plan and what we are trying to do. "You guys are going to see a little bit of growth," Anderson said. "I don't know how much. But it's been another year so definitely some growth in there." From Scott Merkin’s predictably positive MLB.com article…”Even without the hard-hitting Vaughn, though, this shapes up as the most talented White Sox lineup I've covered in 20 years on the beat for MLB.com, with all apologies to the 2006 crew.” What, nothing about churros, craft brews and a slew of spectacular sponsor promotional giveaway nights?
  6. We’ll see how good his defense is with a 47% falloff in speed from two seasons ago…we usually don’t “coach up” players unless it’s getting surprising offense at catcher from the likes of Narvaez and McCann. Likely will still be much better than Eloy, Sheets and Andrew.
  7. Look at the Rays, smartly taking Drew Rasmussen from the Brewers and Luke Raley from the Astros. They never cease to amaze. For the White Sox, we already don’t know when Kopech and Kelly will pitch.
  8. Well, Leury’s post season homer notwithstanding, TLR might force us to hate him anyway.
  9. Reminds one of when KW got the wrong Barry/Berry in similar fashion from the Dodgers.
  10. Rodon pitching today like All-Star 2021 version again…sigh.
  11. https://www.thegoodphight.com/2021/10/23/22731117/2021-report-card-adam-haseley Phillies’ site claims it was likely a mental health issue with Haseley. Athletic article embedded inside this one…
  12. What would they have done had they just missed on Robert? Seems a headline signing of Harper/Machado would have almost been imperative.
  13. Not quite the 109 that Jerksticks is projecting…or close to 100, even.
  14. Kiermaier ouchy. Meadows not in the lineup, for conspiracy theorists. Two Lowe’s and Brett Phillips (DH). Looks like Josh Lowe, a 20-20 guy, will be the final OF cut so he can play every day at Durham. And shockingly Gary Sanchez bad/indifferent defense leads to a run.
  15. And yet he’s been involved with constructing how many WS teams now? 4-5? Maybe 6…
  16. Why would the Phillies deliberately keep trying to worsen their OF defense? And nearly everyone says Gardner to NYY or retiring.
  17. We can’t ever actually win a trade without some sort of laborious retrospective rationalization. Seriously, what were they going to spend any money for the following 2-3 seasons? Would love to know what was Plan B had he actually signed with the Cards for more money. And it still doesn’t change the fact we still missed on all our evaluations on the players coming over from NYY. Had we hit on that trade, we wouldn’t be so desperate for a RFer right now that we currently can’t afford to pay because of the shoddy roster construction.
  18. That might be our only WS at this rate, the AAA one. But pitching is pretty much a wasteland, again.
  19. Finnegan, Cornelius Randolph, Haseley…at least three washed out former 1st rounders now with Sox (Rutherford another). Probably missing one or two. That sounds like the old familiar version of the Sox at least.
  20. Maybe, if Severino returns to his pre-injury form. Big if.
  21. Mets, Brewers and Blue Jays according to their rankings. LAD depends on Bauer resolution to an extent. Even had Stros and Giants ahead of LA, fwiw.
  22. If the players weren’t so aggressive and all eight had voted to approve the final deal which was an incremental improvement at best, would the union members feel satisfied that they’d really fought to the fullest extent? A big aspect was always going to be about perception.
  23. The odds of going a full five at this point in ST are probably less than 10%.
