When's the last time the worst defensive team in the AL went anywhere in the postseason? Kopech needs to pick up the pace. Also seems to be on an 85 pitch limit...at least so far.

Quintana shutting down the vaunted Dodgers through 5 2/3, sporting a nifty 2.73 ERA.

How many total did he have last year again? I guess another aspect of this is that managers don't like to pull some guys who are contributing beyond the box score when the team is on a winning streak like this. At least the guy hustles and he clearly has the respect of the pitching staff. And he's SO much better blocking pitches in the dirt and bunting, lol.

You're forgetting Burger Jimenez and the former Z man now hitting cleanup for Blue Jays. We can throw Yermin back in there for good measure. And actually, while we're on the DH subject, Pollock is looking increasingly like a typical Sox DH that can neither hit nor field but still gets penciled into a starting spot somewhere.

How Unconcerned Should We Be?
I was secretly asked by the mods to put up a post to encourage more likes/laughs for other posters because there weren't enough generated during the long losing streak. More likes equals more traffic, more traffic means they can sell the site for even more than Truth Social.

How Unconcerned Should We Be?
Well if you gave TLR that same team they would be nowhere close to .500. Francona is one of the best managers in the game on a yearly basis. Obviously he wasn't around last year when things got away from them in the second half.

How Unconcerned Should We Be?
Because the 2021 Guardians or Indians or whatever we now retroactively call them had nearly every single starting pitcher injured. It makes little to no sense as a comp. We have Lynn basically out for two months. The two situations are nothing alike. Look at the full list of all the starters used by CLE last year. And nobody came into 2021 expecting the Indians to make the postseason, let alone advance to the ALCS or World Series.

Moncada to be back on Monday
Are you being serious? Hard to tell here.

Abysmal if you were overinvested in tech, SPACs or NFTs. Shocking. Jury still out on cryptography in terms of weathering the coming storm.

Almost a 25% decline. That's needless to say massive.

2022 AL Central catch all thread
For Tigers' fans after the last 3-4 years of barren nothingness, hope and change sells well. Hard to blame them for wanting to get excited about something, albeit temporarily.

Ummm...Humber at least threw a no hitter and was part of the rotation for awhile. Not exactly Nick Williams or AJ Reed in terms of Sox impact.

Moncada to be back on Monday
The odds of Burger being even an average MLB 2B are about 15%. We shall see. But certainly not counting on it. Last time I checked, we didn't have a specialist who transformed our former players like Semien Narvaez and heck even Luis Gonzalez.

We keep saying Moncada and Vaughn back will give you only one hole in the lineup but it's still seemingly 3-4 weak spots per game. Sheets Pollock Leury McGuire Harrison Burger Engel Mendick.

Look at Minoso's numbers his rookie year and compare them. Well, the only way we would ever know if the BBWAA was going to "tolerate" two African American players winning ROY in both leagues in the same year less than five seasons after Jackie Robinson debuted...would be to switch their teams around. It's always going to hypothetical/speculation. Hard to find smoking guns, this isn't the 1960 presidential election in Chicago.

How Unconcerned Should We Be?
The Indians have Bieber, Plesac and Civale back again after missing long stretches of 2021...so that aspect will be better. Bieber is not as good as 2-3 years ago, but McKenzie and Quantrill have both pitched well. They also have four former NL West players who were all considered expendable in their starting lineup...to go along with Lindor-linked imports Gimenez/Rosario and April Rookie of Month Kwan, who pretty much has to regress eventually.

I meant offseason additions/improvements.

2022 AL Central catch all thread
There just wasn't that one headline addition to increase excitement...Conforto turned out to be a false flag operation/distraction. Then Rodon, fixation with utility guys and the never ending Kimbrel situation, which still hasn't improved the ball club to this date in time. Finally, can add over reliance on Sheets repeating.

Don't forget Trayce Thompson, lol. Luis Gonzalez.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Not second half 2021 and this year's version though.

They were not one of the consensus picks for Top 5 postseasons. Cubs, Giants, Tigers, Mariners, Rangers, Blue Jays and Dodgers were all up there.

How Unconcerned Should We Be?
Well, the Red Sox fans also are already booing Trevor Story...who has a much better OPS than many Sox hitters. And Wacha has been one of the top 10 pickups of the offseason. Overall, though, their current legacy is colored by the Sale injury and losing both Betts and now likely Bogaerts as well to FA. Team in transition coming off a year they arguably overperformed in retrospect. And pretty clearly the second toughest division in baseball.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I remember hearing the exact same argument every single season we lost to the Twins in the 00's...then the Tigers, Indians, Royals, Indians again. Teams like the Rays count on the big boys overlooking them season after season...except the White Sox should NEVER be considered as a Cinderella team when their resources and competitive advantage are so abundant compared to the rest of the division.
