Woodruff (2.04) vs. Lynn (1.94)
-
Might as well star another venting thread. I suppose the one positive byproduct of his recent extended playing time…and watching Zavala attempt to hit at the big league level…is increased appreciation for Grandal.
-
Thanks to a former Indian in Santana. Right now, we’re the fourth best AL team. We shall see in two months where things stand.
-
Rooker broke up Angels no-no bid. That was the first homer of season for former Blue Jay Tellez.
-
Twins are about to be no hit as well, it’s going to the 9th with Sandoval…
-
So basically we should have zero sense of urgency, continue to watch this malaise set in…stand pat and just be content with getting Jimenez, Robert and Grandal back?
-
Even if he retagged, the umpire had called time out/play was dead…gave the ball to Pina and he threw it to Burnes, so it wouldn’t have technically been allowed anyway. Moncada should retag instinctively and instantly after the play if he’s not sure. Of course, that’s hard to do if you were just ruled safe, but you should have a pretty good innate sense as the baserunner if you got the plate or not.
-
Should count mentions of that 9 game cushion by broadcasters on both radio and t.v. side between now and the end of the game tomorrow evening….
-
Tigers are going to be only two games behind the Indians if the trends tonight continue…
-
The White Sox bullpen having to go 5 seems like a disaster but not much choice at this juncture of the game…
-
How many Moncada threads are we going to get…?
-
It’s basically the same as an appeal for the runner leaving third too early on a tag up…
-
So how can you call the runner out if the play was ruled over and he had no opportunity to retag home?
-
Who called for that review? Now contesting that time out was called out after the play…before Moncada could retag it.
-
Massive shift in this game…unless Moncada somehow grazed the top of the plate. Could have been 2-3 runs scoring if ball didn’t hit the umpire.
-
Going to be out.
-
Sigh. Zack Collins is quickly turning into one of the goats with extended playing time exposing all his various flaws.
-
The Tigers are quickly shifting to the bigger threat…especially when/if Ramirez and Bieber are dealt (offseason?) Then again, the team rebrand might mean the Indians go for it one last time in 2021.
-
Also kind of looks like a cross between a roller derby helmet and one of the first designs discarded by the Mercury or Vikings.

Exhibit 1B of Sox players who were roundly criticized for defensive shortcomings only to become All-Stars/MVP candidates along with Marcus Semien. -

Narvaez, meanwhile, looks pretty decent these days… -

T-ball (non-existent) catchers couldn’t frame any worse…we’d fare better with no catcher in front of the umpire until a runner reached base. -

Afraid to throw the ball over the plate…ah, the old it doesn’t matter if we lose because CLE will still be 9 games back canard. -

Be careful suggesting that, CWS/Nashville will come after you hard…
