  1. Well that was desperately needed. Now can we please manage to close out one of statistically worst offenses in the game?
  2. What's that? Doesn't Ruiz already get credit for a blown one?
  3. It was Allen Thomas this past offseason, and isn't Herm still emiritus or something like that?
  4. Leury Garcia from what he started out as, lol. Well you have Narvaez and McCann. Bummer, I guess. Avi Garcia? Alejandro de Aza? Joking. But in all seriousness, that recent moment when they were lauding the farm system for all those first rounders making an impact...Fulmer Collins Burdi Rodon and Madrigal all gone now, poof! Crochet injured. Vaughn out of position.
  5. Yeah the fractured left foot was 2005. Torn biceps pretty rare in baseball, like Eloy's injury last year. Wasn't it from catching a throw that brought him into contact with a base runner?
  6. Yeah, pretty sure Achilles or some type of lower leg issue that wiped out most of his season.
  7. That's probably not the best analogy with Covid and cruise lines the last 2-3 years...
  8. Because Jimenez's career fWAR is less than Rodon's 2021. Second point is pitchers are always injured in peak velocity modern day baseball. Position players were always perceived to be more valuable due to playing nearly everyday and getting hurt less frequently.
  9. Well, arguably Top 5-10 in the game...but on the way. The last time we clearly had THE best pitcher in baseball was Jose Contreras for a stretch of 2005-06. At this point, only another injury is going to derail this narrative about Hahn's offseason decision-making. Getting rid of players in their 20s for veterans in their 30s doesn't usually work unless you are the Braves or Giants.
  10. Feels like the good ol 2001 White Sox with David Wells, Frank Thomas out and Jose Canseco. Fought back from 14-29 all the way to .500ish by mid summer and ended up at 83-79.
  11. Afraid of him re-aggravating it in the colder weather, arguably.
  12. Rodon already worth 1.2 fWAR, trailing only Gausman in the majors. That’s the equivalent of roughly $10 million in expected FA production dollars out of $18-22 million already. VV, Harrison, Pollock and Leury (-0.6) combined are a lovely -1.0… On the plus side, McGuire somehow leads the entire offense at 0.3.
  13. Hard not to go with the Blue Jays…especially when the Sox can’t ever keep their core guys healthy. Performance/production matters a lot more than these dreams of potential and what could have been. Somewhere, there’s a Rangers’ fan shouting to the heavens about letting #2/3 hitter Leury Garcia get away to the White Sox for Alex Rios nearly a decade ago now. Well, at least a couple that are bemused.
  14. By that argument, 75% of the White Sox players have already had similar 0 for 10/11/12 stretches or whatever it was during in the first three weeks…0.4 fWAR definitely wouldn’t have been his value had he remained with the Sox. Same thing with Luis Gonzalez. In retrospect, it’s just so weird that we spent so much time worrying about Micker Adolfo’s fate when that isn’t even a Top 20 issue for the team right now. Oh, for those days back.
  15. So basically a cast of 3-4 to blame for every move that goes wrong according to their personal narrative with nobody actually held accountable…so Sox-like. Definitely not Soxy.
  16. Man, it’s a tough call which team’s fans should be more pissed off, White Sox after Buxton walk off or the Tigers fans after the walk off error that should have been caught by Grossman FIRST and at worst should have ended up with runners at second and third…but realistically should have been 1st and 3rd, two outs, Tigers still leading 4-3. Sano ran up the back of the middle runner ala Leury, and the middle runner was caught helplessly between 2nd and 3rd with a decent throw from Haase. As a fan, pitching to Buxton was close to indefensible, but that was just classic Harrelson meltdown mode out of Detroit…
  17. Just don’t trade with anyone in the State of California. Or the Indians/Twins/Tigers.
  18. The weird thing there is he’s pitching fairly well…not like the Glasnow spider tack transition.
  19. Harrison feels more like LaRussa, Pollock hard to say but common theme is preference for NL guys. Even VV was mostly associated with Phillies. Cueto also a lot more time in the NL Central then West.
  20. Do you really see JR doubling down if they pull a Twins 2021 and trading Giolito (equivalent of Jose Berrios), extending Cease or Kopech and pulling a Carlos Correa level superstar out of the FA hat??? Not to mention trading Hendriks for a reliever and starter? (Note: Correa has been lousy so far, like Lindor in NY last season.)
  21. Undecided, depends on offers/interest: Bummer Start exploring potential market/s for beginning in early June if no turnaround or managerial change: Anderson, Giolito, Kopech (control through 2025, would have to be absolutely blown away with an offer) Salary dumps to regain financial flexibility and replenish AA/AAA quality depth (plug n play guys like the Olson trade to ATL): Grandal, Hendriks, Keuchel (almost all dead money at this point), Abreu, Pollock, Lynn (depends how he looks upon return), Graveman, Kelly
  22. If it was Pete Vukovich they definitely wouldn't be singing that damned jingle. That gets more run than Alex/Ursula Snelius and George from Windy City Limo in that bright yellow M&M's NASCAR jacket...
  23. By this argument, it's better to switch to following Alabama football because they arguably provide the highest likelihood of winning a championship of the major sports in any given year. It's easier to be happy when your team almost never loses and you don't have to turn off their games for more than a blowout or two...but there's something unique about White Sox fans in terms of lifetime loyalty through thick and thin. Now actually spending hundreds of dollars on a product that used to be more family and less corporate is a completely different conversation.
  24. But they were all TLR's! Hahn was forced at gunpoint into them...clearly under duress from rewatching his press conferences.
  25. "Little Big League II" 12,031 announced tonight but tmrw will be Brooks Boyer's nightmare...one thing it will probably be a sub 2 hour game.
