Well, if you’re going to blame the wet grounds for not being able to get a great grip on the ball while moving…if he threw it away and out runners on second and third?
-
But, with the rain, seems by his reaction he didn’t have a great grip on the ball.
-
He started heading to the vicinity…inexplicably stopped, forgetting Altuve can run well to first and Maldonado was the better shot to retire and closer throw at second from Anderson.
-
Simply can’t give up 4 here without expecting “here we go again” to enter into team thinking. Cease struggles yet another reason we have to take advantage of Rodon and Lynn this year.
-
Of course.
-
Well, there’s another reason for having an above average everyday 2B defensively. Cease with the temporary concentration lapse.

His ERA and peripherals were elevated but there was at least one advanced metric that made him reminiscent of his former self…kind of waiting for the roof to cave in but it didn’t.

New nickname for Skogman? If only he played for the Everett Aqua Sox, they used to have a frog as their logo.
-
Well, except Cano was pretty much a HoF hitter the first 8-10 years of his career…part of it was Yankees hype, but still.
-
Plus they bought Quintana while he was still pretty darned close to peak value from the previous season…hard to time those Big 3 trades any better.

Sox fourth in latest MLB power rankings

If Rodon, Lynn, Moncada, Jimenez and Robert are all 100% on October 3rd, they have to be the AL if not World Series favorites. -
White Sox select Colson Montgomery #22 overall

Can definitely see where the Corey Seager comps are coming with that frame. -
Yoan Moncada should volunteer to play 2b this year

Vaughn should move to second, with Burger in LF and Eloy at DH. These suggestions just get more unrealistic by the day. Honestly, the move of Burger for a handful of games at second base was probably just as much about trade leverage as anything else. Leury Garcia has stabilized that position in recent weeks…along with Engel and Hamilton returning and Goodwin holding his own offensively. -
Sox fourth in latest MLB power rankings

If you add in the Tigers (9-4) 35-9 Then 19-26 versus the rest of their opponents. We do get the Tigers and Indians for 11 of the final 13 games, including five in a row in CLE. -

Against everyone else, they’re 28-30. And the second-half schedule is favorable for the South Siders: they have the fifth-easiest remaining schedule in the AL, behind only the Rays, Tigers, Royals and Astros.

How many people older than 60 were you willing to sacrifice? If every American had the opportunity to choose one of their four grandparents to die if they could have instead gone through the last 18 months without any restrictions…keeping all their supposed rights and freedoms…how many would make that choice? What if they were already over 70 or 80? Still no takers, right? Almost nobody, or I’d like to think very few. It sounds like Hitler, or at least Thanos. Covid is never a problem…until it has real life consequences among your family or friends, then viewpoints quickly change.

If he was a good 2B as well, like Javy Baez…that would make a lot of sense. -

Or we could just trade for Escobar, McMahon, Merrifield, Frazier, Baez, etc. Burger’s going to have to hit like that for at least another 2-3 before it’s considered…even then, still think they would prefer someone like Schoop that’s not ideally suited for the position defensively. -
Right now, it’s looking like both of these are going to be blocked by the Chinese government. Black Widow, maybe, gets a mid August but so many good pirated versions are out there due to Disney+ so it’s really going to be diluted results for bottom line, maybe $50-75 million and Disney only keeps 25% as opposed to a higher split in most intl box office.

The Darvish deal started out so poorly, but the timing was all off. Just like Kimbrel pitching like his old self. That said, they just didn’t produce enough quality replacements on the pitching front from either the draft or international signings. Of course, they made mistakes as well like Chatwood and Edwin Jackson.- 50 replies

Used to always be after league all star games but imagine that got pushed back due to late starts…as a reward for those selected players, they usually stayed for that hame then moved on quickly or even right after the games.
-
Oh, I thought you meant we would have both guys, but that’s probably not realistic going by Sox history.

Beginning to miss 2017-19… Also, some newcomers popping up around here are reminiscent of freaking Braves fans in the 90’s and 00’s complaining about not winning enough World Series titles…but not going to the playoff games even because they expected to lose eventually. How about let’s FIRST make the postseason two consecutive years before nitpicking every single player to death? Maybe at least change the thread title to HOT CAKEZ…because tasty food is good.
