Main players affected there (DH) would be Burger, Sheets, Goodwin and whichever catcher wasn’t on the field. We can debate Grandal’s limited season until the cows come home, but he kept the lineup at least viable the last month or so before going down again. Looks like Leury has found a home at second and Hamilton a place in TLR’s heart as well. Ironic that Rodon and Hamilton are two of the biggest offseason moves, with 90% of the debate reserved for Lynn/Dunning, Eaton and Grandal vs. McCann.

Teams like SF, Milwaukee and the Rays/A’s have done more with less (Giants on the pitching front), but Hahn at least gets a B or B- so far. Can’t imagine the bullpen implosion with Colome. Hendriks’ confidence/swagger really rubbing off. It’s one of just a few examples of Sox being helped and Twins hurt simultaneously in the last couple of decades. We can also argue over McCann vs. Grandal, but the predicted pitching implosion never occurred. James on this year’s team wouldn’t miraculously give Lucas back his 2019-20 stuff. More importantly, we’re developing guys like Vaughn and especially Burger and Sheets one year earlier…building up some needed depth (starting pitching front, not so much.) Also, Billy Hamilton one of the best under the radar moves, IMO.

Cespedes coming up. With some of the promotions this year, at this point, nothing would really be all that shocking. Fwiw, Eaton and Mercedes helped carry the team in April…it wasn’t worth $7 million or whatever, but both those guys made important contributions early.

The second-worst scenario The worst-case scenario for Pfizer and Moderna was that their COVID-19 vaccines wouldn't work. The second-worst scenario might be that their vaccines work too well. Washington University School of Medicine immunologist Ali Ellebedy led a team of researchers attempting to determine how long the protection provided by messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines would last. Their findings were recently published in Naturemagazine. The key takeaway from this research was that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine could provide immunity for years. And while Moderna's vaccine wasn't included in the study, Ellebedy thinks it would likely provide similar longevity because of its similar mRNA approach. There's a major financial implication with this recent finding for Pfizer and Moderna. If their vaccines provide protection against COVID-19 for years, the companies won't sell nearly as many vaccine doses in future as they will in 2021 and 2022. https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/07/07/could-pfizer-and-moderna-now-face-their-second-wor/?source=eptyholnk0000202&utm_source=yahoo-host&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=article With Delta and Lambda, BigPharma still has plenty of profits to make from boosters and adjusting to all the world variants/mutations in real time. They’re talking about Alpha.

He had one really productive, healthy season with the Sox. A total tease, just like Rodon until this year.

Surprised nobody mentioned Avisail Garcia…as polarizing as they come.

AJ Reed?

Make your own slip and slide was a nice improv comment…gotta give him that.

Can’t believe Goodwin actually caught that one.
-
Who in the bullpen holds that game together…even had that catch been made?
-
For the conditions, one of the best catches of the year. Can’t believe he didn’t get reinjured.

Maybe Greg has J&J stock shorted…?

27,000 But per capita 10x worse than the US. Where and when was lambda first detected? The lambda variant, also known as C.37, was first detected in Peru in December 2020. But back then, according to the Financial Times, lambda only accounted for 1 out of every 200 cases. Today lambda makes up over 80% of all COVID-19 cases in the country. Peru currently has the world’s highest COVID-19 mortality rate, though it’s not yet conclusive if lambda is the reason why. Is lambda resistant to vaccines? No one knows this for sure, but the WHO and national public health organizations are racing to find out. One pre-print scientific paper by researchers in Chile suggests lambda can better escape the neutralizing antibodies caused by the CoronaVac vaccine, but the paper has not been peer reviewed yet. What countries is lambda in now? According to data from GISAID, lambda is now in 31 countries, including the U.S., Chile, Peru, Germany, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Ecuador, and Israel. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/lambda-variant-here-s-what-we-know-so-far-about-the-who-s-new-variant-of-interest/ar-AALPBqu

Was he also in Pacific Rim?

Wow, you can understand why Goodwin lost that one…huge struggle any ball hit up into the air. Is that a clutch RBI from Abreu?
-
Probably all the trade rumors…could see him going to the A’s.
-
Simmons a Gold Glove shortstop. Don’t like going two innings with Hendriks. Kopech should at least get the 8th until someone reaches.
-
Probably not that, EITHER. Not like Crede and Buehrle, lol. Pretty incredible Eaton has almost 30 RBI’s.
-
Yeah, co-players if you’re being fair…but especially considering Rodon’s last inning of work.
-
What happened to pal? That seems to be more infuriating than guy or dude, lol.
-
Watch Colome strike out the side. Or they put up a crooked number. Almost out at second. Collins player of the game seems clinched.

Love Benetti calling Goodwin’s name there like he expected something to go wrong…

Yeah, too close for comfort…and increased the injury risk. Already prevented the trail runner getting to second…just had to make a simple tag but perhaps he was worried about throwing a wet ball and it slipping.
