Vaughn/Burger could see 2B
Jerry Dybzynski just called Tony, wants to atone for 1983! And I realize Julio Cruz died recently, but is Tony Bernazard still available?

Vaughn/Burger could see 2B
Why not Jermaine Dye to SS...? Avi Garcia in CF was a lot easier sell back in the day than Vaughn and Burger at second. Also reminds me of Mark Teahen to second...

Vaughn/Burger could see 2B
Even that makes more sense than Vaughn at second...albeit not sure if insurance on his contract would cover it.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
Twins will go to a six man rotation when Sonny Gray returns soon. Ryan, Gray, Ober, Bundy, Paddack, Archer. Five of those guys weren't on the team last year. Also, Michael Wacha has been incredible so far this year...and his price tag was right in the Sox range.

Trayce Thompson back in the big leagues, congrats!

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
How well did that 2000 offense work in the postseason? I know, completely different teams, similar approaches to beating teams though…at any rate, so many small things in terms of fundamentals and execution killed and continue to hurt the Sox, stuff that doesn’t usually make it into the box score. At any rate, let’s see how Burger and Sheets look for another week. Still lean towards Burger back in Charlotte everyday, but that calculus is moving in the direction of needing to retain Burger to eventually replace Moncada (sooner rather than later if no postseason). Things will very likely change again, and quickly.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
If you’re playing Vaughn in LF everyday and don’t use those at-bats for Grandal to rest or to balance the lineup out with Sheets. Pollock hitting and Moncada returning can help to mitigate some of the issues against RHP.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Other than Max Muncy and Moustakas, there's not been a 2B that size in the majors playing on a regular basis in recent years. Without looking, I would guess their DRS and fielding ratings aren't all that stellar, either.

The Jarred Kelenic Appreciation Thread
We can go back to hating Tatis, Jr., on June 7th... That is if he doesn't do something else that's patently asinine. Tough tough year for rookies to break in with offense down across the board. I guess Torkelson's hanging in there as well as anyone for now. At some point in late May or early June, Kelenic will lose even more playing time to Kyle Lewis (probably send to AAA again). Not sure how Taylor Trammell's doing (his other competition), but my guess is the offense is more Lewis Brinson than Luis Robert.

TLR 2022 Thread
1980 Willie Wilson and Omar Moreno ruled the basepaths haha. McEwing will never "betray" Tony, Jirschele won't be given the reigns in the idle of the window...that leaves Cairo and Jerry Narron. Maybe Carlos Beltran would be one of the most popular choices...but has a shadow around him? Scioscia, no way. Bochy, he turned down SD where he already used to manage

Does that include Spring Training and Game 4? I think those were aggregated to come up with that number.

"We still very much believe." Rick Hahn
What was the sophisticated analysis that would help us all understand that Eloy actually wasn't injury prone and was just a victim of "poor luck" or unusual/mitigating circumstances?

Like giving up our own competitive balance pick to the rest of the division...except better...just for the heck of it.

Too early to make any definitive declarations. He's certainly faring better than Mr. Kelenic.

12,363 announced attendance. So we have a pretty darned good idea of the season ticket base right now.

Would be really nice to have two wins before the Angeks. come to town. Also would prevent the Royals from winning 4 series in?a row dating back to last year. Thankfully no Hernandez or whoever that guy who gave us fits over and over again last year, at least in this series.

1.2 to 0.5 fWAR...well they most definitely haven't replaced Lynn.

You're forgetting they wanted to rest Grandal more as he gets older...still a logjam.

How Concerned Should We Be?
What was the owner's name in that movie...Rachel Phelps or something like that? Ages since watching, but one of the best. Plug we have the Johnny Cueto/Eddie Junkball Harris comp already going.

What The Actual F# Is Wrong With This Team?
You left out the last couple of weeks of the 2008 season...that was just a battle for survival after Quentin went down. Oh, and Alexei grand salamis.
