  1. That helps. But who in the hell can pitch the 8th? Hendriks for two, haha? Or Crochet?
  2. Pitching away from the defense....aiyo.
  3. Could/should Grandal have stopped that wild pitch???
  4. Except Keuchel starts to get hurt the third time through the order. Except our bullpen's eventually going to get exposed having to cover 3 innings to get the game to Hendriks.
  5. You mean Panik at the Disco Demolition...let's hope we get 1, if not 2 more from Keuchel. 75 pitches as we head into the 6th.
  6. The bottom of the order needs at least one legit offensive threat to keep opposing pitchers honest...
  7. Not to hear the talk around here this off-season...he was the second coming of Jim Edmonds or something (minus the marital infidelities.)
  8. He has a better arm and faster baserunner...and more positional versatility, but he hasn't been good this year. AT ALL.
  9. Engel is washed up, lol... We really do need a legit bat for both RF and DH (insurance for Mercedes.)
  10. Suggesting trading those packages for Merrifield, a key player on a divisional rival to boot....embarrassing. Let's try to be a bit more knowledgeable about his value around baseball. This site is better than the Score, where Sox and Cubs fans put together 4-6 player packages of minor league "what if's" for players like Rafael Palmeiro or Jake Peavy.
  11. Because Grandal hitting in the 150's or 160's makes him a BAD player, lol. After Reyes, he was their second most important impactful outfielder the first two months. Now we suddenly measure players by batting average, lol? Of course, they also have Rosario (who has sucked ass the first two months), Naylor and Harold Ramirez, but none of those guys are world beaters. It's guaranteed if you take one of the Sox Top 3 starters (in this case, Plesac for CLE) out, it's going to have a LOT more impact than substituting Garcia/Mendick for Madrigal. "LaRussa Curse. Baby Jesus is making us fans (and injured players) pay for Kublai Hahn’s dumb hire."
  12. Amazing contribution to the board!!! Let's all snipe back at each other and try to get likes because they're so cool.
  13. When the Dodgers lost May, Bellinger, Seager...they didn’t even blink. That’s with three of the best five teams in baseball in their division. The Indians are somewhere between 12-15, arguably. We are the Dodgers or Yankees in our division compared to the Indians and Royals.
  14. We haven’t lost 3, it’s 1.5...for Madrigal. Same with Robert (will play at least two months). So 2/3rd’s of a season of missing fWAR. Bottom line, ONCE AGAIN, Cleveland’s only recourse is their minor league system. They don’t have our media rights deal guaranteeing XXX amount per game or expected attendance bounces to count on to generate revenue.
  15. In other words, Cleveland’s personnel losses are affecting them more adversely than the White Sox ones. The Indians have no way to add on payroll. We have, well, JR. There’s always a Manny Ramirez or Youkilis or Rollins, etc., available for just the additional payroll assumption. See Rios/Alex.
  16. Can anyone on this site actually (and carefully) read a freaking post without an immediate hot take? “TO CLEVELAND...” The White Sox have $80 million more in their budget and the ability to absorb $10-20 million more with full/er crowds expected. For those panicking, we survived just fine without them. Not a juggernaut, but one of the better teams in the AL. By the way, it’s comical you’re already projecting Robert at 7-8 fWAR when Jimenez has never put up 2 in LF. Don’t think there’s much certainty about that, other than the 2.5ish to 3 floor based on defense alone. How are the Indians going to replace Reyes’ at bats, with Chang and Bauers? $50 million budget/payroll, lowest in majors....better off auctioning Civale, Bieber and Jose Ramirez between now and next OD. They’ve only done that 4-5 times now since the early 90’s, after all.
  17. Reyes/Plesac/Luplow injuries more impactful to CLE...than these three to Sox.
  18. Agents, other teams’ front offices in FA negotiations (that we don’t protect our players well after Schneider)...even if he could do a Muncy, he certainly needs more than two months in the minors after basically three years off. Charlotte numbers are always misleading. I would be more impressed by 775-800 ops at Birmingham. Overall pitching stuff much more major league level in terms of dominant fastballs vs. command/control journeyman types hanging on for a last opportunity.
  19. They can’t do that (this year)...imagine the blowback if he got hurt yet again. Beckham and Hernandez are next after Leury/Mendick, but more likely someone like Schoop or E.Escobar.
  20. The last month, much better. It’s him or Marco Hernandez if they don’t go Leury-Mendick. Promoting Goodwin likely means it’s Leury for the majority of those at-bats, unfortunately.
  21. Ummm...unless financially desperate, no way they go for that.
  22. Well, obviously Ketel Marte is a difference maker...I guess you mean projected 1-2ish fWAR replacements. Schoop on the Tigers would be one such example. Jose Villar, etc.
