"sticky substances"
Morton did well for Rays but struggling mightily with ATL this year.

Madrigal.
Almost identical OPS to TA7. Trails only Moncada, Grandal, Abreu, Mercedes....TA7 by just 10 points or so.

Why your favorite team can’t be more like the Rays
He’s still due a minimum of $32 million for the 2022-23 seasons PLUS $14 million in deferred money...like splitting a signing bonus. That’s $46 million for a two year commitment, including $2 million buyout for 2024. We can split the difference on this year, $7 million for July though September. Grand total is $53 million for 2 1/2 seasons. JR will never sign off on that. They might negotiate on the deferred money commitment, but to lower that $14 million is going to cost more in remaining prospect capital we can’t easily afford to surrender just to save money (see a certain 2016 trade.) Not to mention buying at near peak value when he fell off quite a bit after hot starts in previous seasons...someone like Marte, Gallo or Haniger makes a lot more sense financially. It also frees up a spot for Cespedes or Colas to grow into.

He’s not going to opt out with $66 million (some deferred) due him over the next three seasons... https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/cincinnati-reds/nick-castellanos-14145/

White Sox now two games ahead of 2020 pace, 37-23 vs. 35-25. After 47, 32-15 in 2020. Last 120 games=72-48, or 0.600 Full season projection=97-65 This year’s pace=100-62 15 years ago since a better first half....26 games over .500 in 2006 at ASB, struggled to 92-70 finished, missed playoffs behind DET and the Liriano/Santana/Nathan Twins.

6/8| White Sox vs Jays | 7:10PM CT | TLR going for #2765
He has given up, what, like 2 hits all season on that pitch...and one was an infield single???

Seems like there has been a double to lead off nearly every inning for Toronto...

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/ncaa-umpire-yells-at-college-world-series-player-admiring-home-run-044706937.html TLR has another fan...this one in the NCAA umpiring ranks.

Grandal now at .159/.810/9 HR Cardinals threatening to make it a game again in StL against CLE. Minnesota up 2-0 over the dreaded (for them) Yankees. Yankees could fall to just one game over .500 with a loss.

We're 14th now, averaging about 11,500. https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance 1,573/game behind the Cubs.

That's your All-Star, Chicago White Sox LHP Carlos Rodon...
-
6/8| White Sox vs Jays | 7:10PM CT | TLR going for #2765
The odds of Rodon possibly going 5 and even 6 innings after 4 outs in the 45 pitch count range....wouldn't have taken that Vegas bet.
-
6/8| White Sox vs Jays | 7:10PM CT | TLR going for #2765
He has always been a 4-6 inning pitcher due to walks, high K and BB counts...
-
6/8| White Sox vs Jays | 7:10PM CT | TLR going for #2765
Or an EPL football game... 98 touches to 11 for the White Sox.
-
6/8| White Sox vs Jays | 7:10PM CT | TLR going for #2765
You think they'd be "on orders" from TLR to sustain that offensive inning as long as possible to give Rodon some much needed rest.
-
6/8| White Sox vs Jays | 7:10PM CT | TLR going for #2765
Sox innings=2-3 minutes (and that's saying a lot with control-challenged Ray on the bump) Blue Jays' inning=average of 15-20 minutes
-
6/8| White Sox vs Jays | 7:10PM CT | TLR going for #2765
Well, on the plus side, 3-4 years ago....this game was a 5-0 or 6-0 Blue Jays rout. Rodon has learned to battle his behind off.

Indians already up 5-0. Juggernaut status denied with some of our starters looking shakier and Kopech on the mend.

Giving up so many stolen bases is really going to kill us in tight playoff games. Avoids DP...puts runners in scoring position and increases pressure on the pitchers, etc.
