Are Gatorade baths/dunking currently prohibited by the new Covid-19 regulations for MLB?
-
Or we could have just stuck with Avi and his 1.6-2.4 fWAR range. The biggest concern there, a potential collision with Robert in RCF.

8-21 GT: Sox @ Cubs (7:15pm)

https://theathletic.com/2012125/2020/08/21/law-scouting-notes-on-a-great-rookie-pitching-matchup/?source=dailyemail Mize vs. Dunning scouting notes (KLaw) Dunning was 91-94 mph and located it very well down and away to right-handers, and showed a plus changeup early with good tumble at 85-87 mph. He didn’t have much feeling for his breaking ball in the first inning, but it improved as he went along, and he started getting it down for chases — down and in to lefties, down and away to righties — until he started the third time through the order and left one up to Jeimer Candelario, who hit a three-run homer that ended Dunning’s day. Dunning was also really hurt by his defense; Zack Collins, a below-average receiver, was catching and had trouble with Dunning’s breaking stuff, while several fielders behind Dunning didn’t get to balls they probably should have. I thought Dunning could be a league-average starter before he got hurt, and after this — the first time I’ve seen him pitch in any form since the injury — I don’t see any reason to change that projection. Why are his FB and change not the Hawk Harrelson “ideally 10-12 MPH of differential”? Just curious. Thought his FB velocity was supposedly closer to 93-95, touching 96...? -

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/21/politics/donald-trump-law-enforcement-election-polls-fact-check/index.html If history is any indication, Trump could run into some legal issues on this. Any conduct that intimidates voters is prohibited by federal law and several states expressly forbid law enforcement presence at the polls. Per a Department of Defense directive, DoD and National Guard personnel must also refrain from conducting "operations" at polling places. Furthermore, the President does not have the authority to send local sheriffs anywhere and sending armed federal law enforcement to the polls could result in violations of US criminal code.

Would have taken Gausman as the midpoint between Wheeler and Gio, and happily done so.

Or the Stroman/TA connection seems like something to build on. Of course, Bauer is already familiar with AL Central and his spent his entire career in the Midwest/Rust Belt, essentially...

And stay with our existing pen or add ONE more outside piece (again)? That ONE piece is like Dunning/Lopez/Rodon, or 2/3 of those guys. Or even the possibility of Kopech moving into that back-end role to go along with Burdi, Bummer and Heuer + 3 already mentioned.

Everyone has lost their minds. COVID-19, whether true or hoax....the threat of continued stoppages of revenue into 2021 in terms of ticketing (season), food/concessions/beverages, souvenirs and parking, that's wiping out roughly 60-65% of team revenue. One can easily imagine a downward adjustment of 20-40% on regular/"expected" contract offers as a result. Great opportunity for league-wide collusion, PR campaign featuring teams like NYM supposedly losing $50-100 million per season, etc.

Assuming you keep Leury, let Gio/EE go...how much would that save? Mazara as well, of course, he would need to be replaced at potentially/likely a higher salary. Hard to believe they're not going to give Rodon one last shot, at least out of the pen in the Andrew Miller role...after how long they've stuck with him.

We have to spend the money wisely, on a pitcher, whether it's Lynn, Gibson or Minor last season (and Lynn continuing to be great at a bargain basement price of $8 million), Kenta Maeda (trade)/Odorizzi for the Twins. Examples from just a few teams. The Reds come to mind here as well with Sonny Gray/Bauer/Miley. We know all the FA names out there, it's just a matter of finding the right one. That way, they don't have to completely rely on Keuchel outperforming again, Cease pitching over his control issues, Lopez/Rodon, Kopech (who knows what we actually get out of him) and Dunning.

3/$50 off of 4-5 really solid months and the All-Star berth, compared to the relatively pedestrian rest of his career with DET? How would we feel if we were fans of another team and they signed McCann to that kind of deal? Really not that far off from Grandal's numbers, 1 year less for contract, "only" $2 million more per season for Grandal, who has an established track record and playoff history of performances dating back over a number of years. 5,2 5.8 4.1 4.7 5.2=25/5=5.0 fWAR average over the last five full seasons for Grandal James McCann is at +2.1 for his ENTIRE career. Including 2.3 last season. That would have to be about his max, right?

Grand Slam #4, four consecutive games...has to be some type of MLB record. This time Hosmer does the trick, with Machado, Tatis and Austin Hedges on base. Padres' shaky bullpen blows 5-2 lead, becomes 5-6, but France and Hedges both homer, 7-6, Padres in the bottom of the 9th. Padres and White Sox neck and neck for #3/4 for MLB team homers lead.

Ummm...then you’re running a charter school, essentially. These last three sentences don’t seem possible in modern America...where has empathy disappeared to, and compassion for our fellow citizens? Exhaustive, 27 post thread on Wuhan Institute of Virology...coverups, allegations, etc.

And ANOTHER Grand Slam, walk off winner against a "pitching on fumes" (40+ pitches) Montero of the Rangers. This time, by Machado with one down in the bottom of the 9th (Rangers tied it up 2-2 in top of 9th, went ahead 3-2 in top of the 10th.) Tatis walked to load the bases (fouled off a number of good pitches) right b4 Machado hit.

Please tell me that it's not THE Bonifacio playing RF for Los Tigres...?

First read this as "exposed himself to Covid"... first thought, what else can wrong this season? An arrest for indecent exposure, sure, why not?

Wasn't someone on on here talking about their Day jersey they got for pennies on the dollar in the clearout bin?

Sosa now looks like Bela Lugosi or Ed Wood with all that harsh whitening skin foundation/bleaching. He's gone from a panther to the equivalent of a tree sloth.
