  1. RIGHT ON THAT ONE, LUIS. That was a double to the RCF gap. Or a triple.
  2. What kind of a point is that? The point should be that if you have a great infield defense behind you, it's perfectly acceptable to keep the ball on the ground and limit pitch counts by not being a high strikeout pitcher in the post-season.
  3. REAL White Sox crowds in 2021-22 looking exactly like the scenes across MLB in the stands today...MAYBE.
  4. The point is, there's a belief that teams that enjoy success in a long regular season but don't have dominant TOR shutdown starters (see 2015 Mets, who lost, btw) can't win in the playoffs or World Series. Keuchel has nothing to do with this. On the 2014-15 Royals, arguably he would have been the #1 starter. And they still would have almost won 2 World Series titles with him in that spot. Example #2, the Dodgers over the last decade, at least since 2013...great pitching, aces, no titles.
  5. This is the point now where you have to start watching Keuchel much more carefully...
  6. That's a 44.4% chance of seeing a hit in any individual inning. Insightful stuff, surprised it didn't come from Our Chuck.
  7. Minnesota Twins vs. NY Yankees in post-season theory...
  8. Well, except for that one bomb he put about 475 feet up onto the LF concourse...
  9. They're all advertisements that could be negatively construed quite easily if the team on the field disappointed? That, I find incredibly difficult to imagine. PERCEPTION IS 90% OF REALITY. Why put yourself in a position to look like a jackass? Remember TWTW, from Harrelson? The souvenirs/t-shirts/merchandising around it? Well, it last about all of 2 or 3 weeks when the team completely fell apart.
  10. Clubhouse leadership. Cespedes Brothers Recruiter. Smokeless tobacco spokesman across the Caribbean.
  11. Let's just for once, as White Sox fans, worry about ACTUALLY QUALIFYING or potential pitching match-ups FOR THE DAMN PLAYOFFS...maybe FIRST???
  12. Because the season's so abbreviated, there's no way he can wear down a bit in the second half...
  13. Sure, but baseball has always been the most traditional sport about NOT allowing that, compared to NBA, NFL, NASCAR, NHL, world futbol, etc.
  14. Great, we're not quite on a straight downward trend...it's slightly skewed.
  15. The obvious answer? More Twinkies, more energy!!! "How about this...I don't want to hear any more f'ing excuses from the guys. It's August, everyone has aches and pains, we're in the middle of a pennant race, time to grow up, be a man and fight through discomfort for your teammates and fans."
  16. Dallas Keuchel starts are so reminiscent of classic Buehrle ones....the pace is much appreciated. Giolito's on like pitch 75 in the 3rd inning every other time out.
  17. NVM. Back to baseball. Ron's about as fun as a wet blanket, anyway.
  18. How about relocating to KS and assisting Mr. Kobach in his multi-million dollar quest that turned up approximately 29 examples of "abuse/malfeasance" in the last 2-3 decades. Or, better yet, patrolling neighborhoods to make sure roving gangs comprised of Soros-inspired and financially-funded kids aren't 1) stealing ballots from the mail in certain post codes, 2) being paid by ANTIFA to place extra/additional/fake ballots in everyone's mailboxes in other area codes.
  19. Cardinals acting like they won the World Series after sweeping a doubleheader after 17 days off. C'mon. Any reasonable manager who knew how to run a bullpen and keep Detwiler available and not knowing the limitations of Evan Marshall's stuff...and how precise he needs to be in executing his tightrope act out there.
  20. But isn't THAT the job of each individual hitter to make adjustments? Cue Greg rant that Jim Thome should be constantly bunting down the 3rd base line...and blowing out a hammy or Achilles' busting it down the line.
  21. Like Madrigal at 675-700ish OPS, just not good enough to be a true impact player. There's always that trade off between offense and defense for the majority of players today.
  22. Everyone's life is disappointing after we were 7-4 and on top of the world...briefly.
  23. This reminds me....how we've lost pretty much every single quality female poster in the history of Sox baseball the last couple of decades.
