Ishbia taking control by 2029?
www.reddit.com › baseball › comments Jul 11, 2025 · "Private Equity Now Owns More Than 40 Minor League Baseball Teams, And The Number Keeps Growing..." This is the much more troubling trend if you're a fan of value-based minor league pricing/experiences. Diamond Sports now owns around 45/120 full season MiLB teams.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
"Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred said last week that he expects under (new owner) Zalupski the Rays will start a new search for a new ballpark site in the Tampa and St. Petersburg area. Under Sternberg, the Rays announced plans for and then failed to move ahead with proposed ballparks at the Al Lang Stadium site in St. Petersburg (2007), Ybor City in Tampa (2018) and the site adjacent to the Trop in downtown St. Petersburg (2023 )." espn.com

Private Equity ownership mlb Arctos Partners: Boston Red Sox*, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants Avenue Sports Fund: Baltimore Orioles RedBird Capital: Boston Red Sox* Steve Cohen/Mets 6/8 seems like a pretty good success rate for getting teams into the post season. Maybe the Red Sox or Astros don't make it...

2025/2026 College Football Thread
ND chances for playoffs... "There were some positive developments, most notably Southern California keeping its record clean and potentially giving Notre Dame another opportunity for a ranked win. But a couple other future foes didn’t do Notre Dame any favors. Arkansas suffered a come-from-ahead loss to Memphis, the second winnable game in succession that the Razorbacks couldn’t finish after coming up short at Ole Miss. Then there was North Carolina State’s loss to Duke that effectively ended any chance the Wolfpack would crack the Top 25 by the time they meet the Irish in three weeks. Even the big win by Syracuse, which will visit Notre Dame in November, came with bad news with Orange quarterback Steve Angeli out for the season. Again, all the Irish can really do is win the rest of their games and hope for the best." USAtoday.com/sports

Maybe Quero...depressed. Grant Taylor or Shane Smith have some value stuffwise...arguably. Then the ongoing Robert saga.

29. White Sox (previously: 29) Kyle Teel. Teel won’t end up reaching 80 games this year, but the 75 or so he has played has shot him to the top of nearly every White Sox statistical leaderboard. (He leads them in WAR, playing less than half a season.) The White Sox have some young exciting position players in Colson Montgomery, Chase Meidroth and Miguel Vargas. But Teel is the best of them. mlb.com names Teel best Sox player of 2025 over Colson S.Smith Tauchman Meidroth

The bottom 18 or so media deals are just a drop in the bucket compared to that Top 12 list...the White Sox used to at least be in the #11-15 range (peak was 8-10 range) but now way down in the 20s for the foreseeable future.

Resilient White Sox/AL Central Attendance, somehow up 1.8% YoY for first 21 home dates
Expectations game... Still pretty pitiful, but the promotions over the year were as good as ever. That said, Boyer is also responsible for Schiffren's ongoing presence, too. 17 Detroit 21 Cleveland 24 Minnesota 25 KC 27th (again) White Sox Mike Monaco was the best choice two years ago. Also TB barely leading the A's in attendance going into the final week...the two minor league facilities have been much livelier this year.

What the final total with RISP? 0/11-12-13? At least Grant Taylor had has better results recently. And White Sox saved $250,000 letting J.Scholtens go to the Rays for two months. Surely that money will go right back into the FA spending pool...

There's no public money left in TN for a baseball stadium. Too close to ATL. All the one you goes to the Titans and UT football.
