Fooled us maybe for a little bit.
All depends on Hagen, Schultz and Grant Taylor taking the next steps...and all those pitchers like Thorpe coming off injury.

9/24- Sox at Yankees, 6:05
Doesn't seem fair in teems of the pitching matchup lol. Burke is going to get the most innings? Detroit Cleveland also rain delayed.

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
To be fair, Carson Williams was a Top 10-15 prospect in MiLB coming into the season. Didn't work out that way in terms of results.

Shane Smith (White Sox All Star)
As long as they don't develop the hubris in terms of thinking this can consistently be repeated on a yearly basis to save money.

Sun Times says it’s time for the Schrif to move on
He's fine for a AA/AAA team. Needs to refine his broadcasting skills on an everyday basis, but those join bs probably won'the pay nearly as well and he'd have to leave Chicago as well.

Resilient White Sox/AL Central Attendance, somehow up 1.8% YoY for first 21 home dates
Detroit was around 1.5 million that year. Ranked 25th, White Sox 23rd in their key rebuild year before 2020.

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
6 the Number of divisions (aka, every single one of them!) in which a first-place team has blown a lead of at least 5 1/2 games. According to Elias, this has never happened before in the six-division era, which dates back to 1994. The Yankees were as many as eight games up in the AL East before the Blue Jays caught them. The Mets were 5 1/2 games up in the NL East before the Phillies caught them. The Cubs were 6 1/2 games up in the NL Central before the Brewers caught them. The Astros were seven up in the AL West before the Mariners caught them. The Dodgers were nine up in the NL West before the Padres caught them (though the Dodgers have since recovered). And most astonishing of all, the Tigers were a season-high 15 1/2 up in the AL Central at one point, but they finally got caught by the Guardians on Tuesday night. mlb.com

DBacks have almost 20 different players with a save this year but likely come up just short making post season.

2024: AL Central Thread
But it made 7/15 games last night important for teams and their fanbases. Much better than the NBA with their newly-revised playoff system. NFL can do whatever they want and people will just eat it up.

The Dodgers spent $111 million on Treinen Scott Yates alone. Are just 1 1/2 games up on SD in the final week and headed for low 90s in wins when they were supposed to be the best team in baseball history. Michael Conforto? If the Mets sneak in and beat the Dodgers in the NLDS, all will be forgiven.

It has the last 2-3 weeks. Most of his runs surrendered in a handful of blow-ups.

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
Roberts still prefers Treinen over Scott and Yates.. Sheehan and Kershaw to the pen...at least Clayton out of respect in his final season. He has earned that spot. Sasaki will try this final week, beginning tmrw. Kopech might also return.

Fooled us maybe for a little bit.
The city is a lot more concerned about the Cubs' recent slide and Kyle Tucker's health...along with PCA's slumping second half.

2024: AL Central Thread
Looks like the Astros about to fall one game behind both CLE and Detroit...five to go. Altuve and Correa still getting booed at that minor league park years later for garbage can banging scandal.

Busch went too. No team has ever blown a 14 game lead. Congrats to the Tigers.
