  1. Navarro the only Sox batter without a hit tonight so far... 14 total.
  2. White Sox now around 9th or 10th in the majors in runs scored. 150 runs in 34+ games. Now up to more than 4.4 per game. OPS was a respectable 15th in the majors at 718 and went up a lot higher tonight.
  3. Rollins up to .247...Austin Jackson at .243 Nice to see those batting averages bounce back up. We can live with the catchers not hitting as long as they do a good job behind the plate, take some timely walks and occasionally flash some power like Navarro has done recently.
  4. Shades of Justin Verlander and Bartolo Colon, lol... Getting stronger as the game goes on. He has that physical build. Typically the scouts described him as a "horse." Javy Guerra and Hector Santiago taking it on the chin for the Angels against STL tonight.
  5. Danny Almonte in the LLWS was throwing harder than this...granted, he should have been ineligible at the time. Whatever happened to that girl, Mo'Nae Davis?
  6. Shades of Justin Verlander and Bartolo Colon, lol... Getting stronger as the game goes on. He has that physical build. Typically the scouts described him as a "horse."
  7. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 10, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) The Rangers manager reminds me of Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones He's intense. In person, he's like a general or military leader...always in charge. But he's gone through cancer, a crazy minor league career in which he fought just to get one hit in the big leagues off Dan Petry (Dish)...he's just really standup and admirable. I knew back in 1995 he was going to be a big league manager someday, surprised it took him 20 years (and it required the revolution of "pitch frame" and "infield shifting" with the Pirates/Hurdle to get some attention and job interviews.) His favorite restaurant is Hooters in Augusta, lol. But a great family man...cool wife, has got it all.
  8. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 10, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) The Rangers are kinda like the Sox before this year. Minus the fact that they could hit, made the playoffs, have one of the best farm systems in baseball and pushed Toronto to the edge of elimination.
  9. Now entering the game for the Chicago White Sox....GONG GONG GONG...Shingo Takatsu and the frisbee.
  10. What's the MLB record for the most hits surrendered by a starter over over the course of 5 innings to still get the win? Rodon has to be getting pretty close...12-15, has to be somewhere in there.
  11. Is Rodon really throwing all of his fastballs at 90-92 even in key situations or against their best hitters? Usually he dials it up into the mid 90's when he really needs a K.
  12. What have Harrelson and Stone been saying about Rodon tonight?
  13. Ventura HAS to pull him. You don't want to completely destroy his confidence.
  14. RH batters must be at .320-.330 now against Rodon if he's holding lefties to only .176 so far. Odor is a hitting machine, the next Cano, fwiw.
  15. That ball on ESPN Gamecast looked like a homer to center by DeShields, lol. If HE hits one out, all bets are off. Is this the night the Danks/Rodon duo get off 1-9 on the season and move to 2-9 in their starts? 22-1 for the rest of the staff, crazy time!
  16. That ball almost made it to the Rangers' transgender RR down the LF line. (Just kidding, The Gregster...) Does anyone feel safe with this lead, with either Rodon or Carroll? Me, neither.
  17. I was actually at that game...living in Kansas City at the time. Except I think he threw 16 consecutive balls. The Royals were terribad at that time....but they had DOS CARLOS (Beltran/Febles), Dye, DeJesus, Randa, Sweeney, a really impressive collection of young hitters. Berroa, not sure if that's around the time he beat out Godzilla for ROY.
  18. Shades of Miguel Asencio... We'll take it. Avi gets a second opportunity to break the game wide open.
  19. Probably smart not to challenge Melky right now and try to get the K with Lawrie. One run lead is kind of meaningless at this point.
  20. This game MIGHT be over by midnight...
  21. The Aaron Nola thread will get some more shelf life, so there's that... Indians shut out the Astros in Houston, 5 1/2 GB, Detroit and Royals both 7 1/2 at the current moment. Royals will probably be sitting Chris Young and adding Dillon Gee to the rotation...for at least one start. Medlen got hammered again tonight by the Yankees so they actually might have to replace two starters (w/ Duffy/CM-Wang/Almonte).
  22. By my count batters are now 44/145 for a .303 average against Rodon this year. Pretty crazy. Came into the game with a 1.51 WHIP, which is obviously higher. Can't believe he's at 1.43 for his career.
  23. Ausmus also going with the walk Harper strategy. Zimmermann has 3 RBI's but failed this time, two outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, DET clinging to 1 run lead. Had a chance to tie the score in the 8th but Ramos was thrown out at home on a relay from Romine.
  24. Rollins must have been reading SoxTalk the last 24 hours. Three hits in a row now.
  25. When did the delay officially begin?
