  1. Could have used that yesterday...of course, with our offense it might not have mattered. Ventura probably fugured he wouldnt need him tmrw against Price.
  2. Yankees came very close to blowing an 8-1 ninth inning lead to the Angels. Betances saved it finally.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 08:34 PM) And now he uses Robertson? Goes against everyyhing he said yesterday. Best reliever in baseball this year and down 1 vs. a tie game on the road. Jesus.
  4. Rh hitters now 4/36 vs. Soria for a .111 baa. LaRoche or Cabrera needs to homer. Only chance.
  5. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) He's a stud but of course they had to put in Dan f***ing Jennings with the game on the line yesterday. Robin is a moron. Putnam was unavailable yesterday.
  6. Over 50% of Putnam's pitches are splitters. Shades of last season there...
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) I thought Putnam was injured? Isn't that why he couldn't pitch last night? Hand/wrist injury....but not bad enough for DL apparently.
  8. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 08:10 PM) That Cabrera signing could be one of the worst free agent acquisitions ever made by the White Sox. Him, Cory Snyder or Jaime Navarro. Dunn's up there, too. Downs and Keppinger.
  9. "Flat-footed flail." Good description of Cabrera's entire season against lhp.
  10. Garcia is our only current threat against LHP. That's not going to work.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) If you've followed him in Ames, you understand. Watch this s*** Fred says "we aren't running offense anymore. They can't guard my power forward off the dribble." The last time I got excited about a bb coach it was Steve Alford. Still on the road to recovery.
  12. Flowers just 2/22 or 2/24 throwing out runners? Didnt realize it was THAT bad.
  13. Seems now every AL Central team has used the White Sox as a momentum booster to rocket back up in the standings. After beating CLE the first game in that series, they were close to being down for the count until we pulled them back into the race.
  14. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) Well i guess that will be it for tonight, time for some trades or to call someone up. Nobody meriting a call up. Some want Junior Guerra or a replacement for Jennings...but that's just rearranging deck chairs on a sinking ship.
  15. Poor Quintana. Wilson playing in his first game for the Tigers...of course. Robertson will never pitch again at this rate.
  16. Minnesota was down 5-0 against the Brewers, now tied...and that Chi Chi Gonzalez kid on the Rangers is impressive. Seems he hasn't given up a run yet.
  17. Actually 8/11 Cespedes vs. Quintana, four homers. 8/12 now. Bizarre game....except lack of offense from both teams unsurprising.
  18. QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) I know you are joking, but look at his splits coming into the game tonight (currently 0-2): Tie Game: 172/273/207 480 OPS 1 Run Game: 200/246/292 539 OPS 2 Run Game: 188/235/263 498 OPS 3 Run Game: 196/237/283 520 OPS 4 Run Game: 196/235/278 514 OPS Margin > 4 : 263/300/632 932 OPS And we're 10-7 in one run games because of those late-game comebacks and Duke/Robertson. Kinsler....no excuse there. War of mental mistakes in this one.
  19. QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 07:29 PM) Wow was Steve Stones theory on hitting absolute S*** If major league players are that afraid of hitting with 2 strikes they need to GTFO.... Lots of hitting coaches and pitchers believe that as well. "This is a game the Tigers should win. The best I've ever seen our guy pitch." How the hell did that ball drop??? Kinsler knew he was out. Playing deep but didn't seem to bust it at full speed to get there. Sigh.
  20. Seems the entire AL Central other than CLE in slump mode. Royals 2-7 and the Tigers have last seven in a row....2-11 or 2-12, etc. Everyone fears that Indians starting rotation.
  21. 58 pitches through 5. Shades of 2012. Unfortunately, shades of 1984-1987 Sox offense as well.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 06:49 PM) Guys, don't doubt Fred til he gives you reason to. I keep telling you, he's a special person and special basketball mind. Dude took a strategy of taking transfers, getting a guys like Royce White, Georges Niang and the like and decided at Iowa goddamn State that we were going to try and run teams off the court. And we did. If you guys don't end up falling in love with him, I'll be shocked. I think Heads should be his agent.
  23. QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 07:18 PM) Avi needs to stop swinging at every GD pitch... When will these guys learn that they make it so much harder to be successful when they do that. Alexei walked earlier. On a torrid pace for 18....or 3-4 weeks for Rizzo/Bryant.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 07:17 PM) Offense is simply terrible vs LHP. So many easy outs. Avi was the only bright spot and he's fading. Beckham, inexplicably...not hitting lhp. Bring back Viciedo, haha.
  25. Quintana seems to be throwing 1-2 mph harder than normal. He'd given up 9 runs to the Tigers earlier this season...
