QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) Who said I was concerned? I'm just pointing out a fact. You should go make a thread with a poll about it Up to you. Being outside of the control and only having access to just a couple of games on t.v., and having youtube and lots of videos not function here in China, I always enjoy when fathom and a few others point out things that are going on around MLB in gamethreads. Maybe they are sacrosanct and you should change the policy to never mention other teams, even the ones we're "competing" with in the AL Central. It's your call.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 03:04 PM) I'm not jumping the gun. He was pathetic for the first two months of the season. No way around it. I'm just saying I won't believe in him until the K rate drops. I didn't say I don't think he can. I'm just not going to concern myself with the number of homers he hits or anything else until the K rate goes below 30. Even in the high 20s there are serious issues, but at least there's hope at that point. It's really not even two months. It's April and then less than 10 games in June.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) Lets be honest, yes he will. And it will be the same argument, the rotation's too left-handed. I'm coming around to the opinion we need to deal Quintana, as we'd get more for him than Axelrod. That said, you'd have to be bowled over with an offer. Unless someone's going to take the Danks contract off Hahn's hands.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 02:43 PM) Just needs to keep this up for the month, he won't leave the team any choice if he keeps dealing. And it's very likely if you look at our schedule through the end of June. Lots of cupcakes. Then someone will argue he's beating up on last place/second division teams, surely. Not fun being a Mets' fan, losing consecutive games at home to the terrible Marlins and wasting another 12 innings of time hoping your team wins and coming up empty.

Andy Wilkins, as far as I know, leading the SOX minors and majors with 40 RBI's.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) Come on now, you know better. He is mr random thought/news With barely 10 pages in a game thread, you're REALLY concerned about that? SIGH.
-
All about progression/improvement with Hawkins. He at least knows he can play at High A level now...feels like he belongs and not worried about a demotion to Kanny. At his age, bypassing one full level, 30-35% is expected as a K rate, with how raw and inexperienced he is....of course, you want to see that cut down to 30% or 25% as he moves forward, but that kind of raw power just doesn't exist anywhere else in our system. He SHOULD be a lot better the next 2 1/2 months of the season.

Puig absolutely LASHED a single to LCF against Mike Minor, who has been great recently for the Braves. Medlen is actually leading the majors in ERA since the ASB last July. Lots of comps to Greg Maddux being thrown around.
-
Another 3-4 minute inning for the Sox offense.
-
I'll say this. In the times when I've written him e-mails, he's always responded thoughtfully and within a day or two.
-
Marlins and Mets headed for extras again possibly, 4-4 in the bottom of the 9th. Very good play by Crisp....didn't take the correct route and had to adjust and jump for it, reaching across his body. Beckham HOF campaign derailed.
-
If someone uses Hector Santiago's 1-4 record as reason to rip on him, and the bullpen blows this one as well...
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 02:10 PM) It's going to be a nice change when the Sox get someone with agility and range at 1B. Brandon Allen, lol?
-
The error was on Thornton. What happened, poor effort by Konerko to stop it?
-
God damn it, Thornton. Rosales isn't running there, you.....
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 02:04 PM) He was so good for a month. Who did we get for him? Felix Diaz, whose "famed" fastball was overrated in a Jon Adkin-esque way. He did beat the Cubs once at Wrigley, that's my only good memory of him.
-
Thornton vs. Crisp, will turn him around to the RH side.
-
Kenny Lofton would have had it, lol.
-
Dammit. Probably Santiago's last batter. I would pull him and bring in Lindstrom.
-
Lindstrom up in the bullpen. 6 K's for Santiago through 6 1/3. Jordan Danks in CF, DeAza in LF.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) Gillaspie seems to be popping up a lot. Maybe he feels some pressure to hit for more power and try to help carry the offense? That's the problem with being a line drive hitter (ala Mark Grace) at a corner.
-
White Sox have had a ton of 3-4 minute innings this season offensively.
-
Santiago with 98 pitches now. Would love for him to leave the game today with a positive feeling...not sure I'd send him out to start the 7th. Young/Reddick/Norris next inning. Gillaspie also 0 for his last 19, and 3/36.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 01:44 PM) Holy cow, 31k today!! Emphasis on Sunday marketing/diminished ticket and parking prices/families and group outings appears to be working. That's encouraging. To go through a 2-10 stretch and still be supporting "dead team walking" is nice to see.

First time someone has challenged Cespedes all series with a fastball. (Puig Effect?) Shouldn't have walked him to face Donaldson the other night. A's dugout upset with Hirschbeck. Tigers won behind minor league journeyman Jose Alvarez, Masterson just can't beat the Tigers. Benoit with the save. Matt Moore was 8-0, got rocked for eight runs in an inning and simply disappeared into thin air recently. 9 runs in 5 innings today. What is going on with Moore and Price? WOW.
