  1. Great, Scioscia. Now you bring in Hawkins. That bullpen has killed their season. They're the only team with more blown saves than the Sox, and they just added another one.
  2. Dirks reaches and is now over .330 on the season.
  3. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 08:43 PM) Is Reed able to pitch tonite after all those pitches last nite? Might have to use Jesse Crain.
  4. Former White Sox minor leaguer Josh Kinney...and Redbird/Cardinale.
  5. When we need a Dunn K, he always seems to hit into a DP. Oh, well. Fielder reaches on a single against Richards. One on, one out.
  6. Cabrera actually makes an out in the bottom of the 8th to lead off and hopefully won't be heard from again tonight.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) Anyone else flinch thinking it was a bloop single off the bat? No, because it wasn't Matt Thornton. Myers has had a couple of hiccups, but one was caused by AJ's thrown down the line at MN, the other was a game where he just didn't have it at all. I think there was one other game he entered and gave up the tying or go-ahead run in a similar situation?
  8. So lucky tonight. Stranded the bases loaded twice this game. Quintana has that knack for coming back and getting a decent or even quality start when he looks like he belongs on the Tampa Yankees roster again. It's pretty uncanny how many times he's battled back for horrid first or second innings.
  9. PULL HIM YOU IDIOT PARENT HOPEFULLY HE'S JUST DELAYING/STALLING so Myers can warm up more. Is there some kind of rule this season the bullpen has to hand the lead right back to the opposing team? Sweet Baby JESUS of Nazareth.
  10. Just once, get out a LHB. Great, 3-1 count to Seager... Matt Thornton just sucks. There's no other explanation.
  11. Montero was hitting .344 against LHP before that at-bat. Well...I'm not even going to comment about Matt Thornton anymore. It is what it is.
  12. Richards relieves Walden and gets both Jackson and Infante. Top of the 8th, 3-2 Angels.
  13. Two one-run games now. Detroit down by 1. Gordon Beckham's doing about as well as Gordon Gekko post 1987 tonight.
  14. Nathan Jones warming. Have to use him at some point.
  15. Strange to see a guy so big throwing any pitches in the upper 60's/low 70's. Reminiscent of Eric Hillman or Jeff D'Amico.
  16. Rays, surprisingly, lost 2/3 at home to the A's. TB at 13 over now, Oakland at 12. Balt/TOR tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the 5th.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) I fully expect a position player to pitch at some point. Who is the back-up catcher with Escobar out? Olmedo or Viciedo? One would guess it would be Rey.
  18. 10 straight batters retired. 87 pitches. Seems like he'll get through the 5th and that will be it. Hopefully the Sox can get him off the hook for the loss....
  19. 80 pitches for 9 outs tonight. "He's far from being a friendly batter." Clever one there, Farmio. Casper The Friendly Ghost. Momentum back to the side of the Sox again. Back and forth, but nothing can top last night's 9th inning swings. Sure thought Dunn's ball was gone, though.
  20. Konerko hitting the ball to RF with authority again. YOUK found an extra gear there at the end, but great throw from Casper Wells in deep right. If the Sox win tonight, every first place team in baseball would have at least 70 wins. Definitely game on...despite the DP ball there by Flowers. Would be pretty surprising if the White Sox didn't pull this one out now after the Ventura and AJ ejections.
  21. Caught it off the end of the bat. Figgins almost misplayed that into a double or triple. Harrelson was probably screaming STRETCH 10 times there...even Farmer and DJ got excited on that potential homer.
  22. Maybe Cooper will get to resume his managerial career if Ventura gets a suspension. But surely, it will be Parent. They should let AJ manage, haha. It would be a LOT more interesting for the fans.
  23. Quintana did get squeezed there in the first and this inning (granted, he's a rookie and his control was shaky but he wasn't getting anything). Those strike calls against Dunn were ridiculous. Ventura about as mad as he's ever been as Sox manager about the umpiring. What's Harrelson saying? May have been a carryover to not getting the call there from Humber against Smoak last night.
  24. Vernon Wells strikes for the first run in DET, another homer, 1-0 Angels.
