The White Sox were 10th in FA spending from 2020-2024. Over $320 million. They just didn't spend (or allocate) it very well...and the young hotshot prospects got injured or under performed. In many ways, he was the heart and soul of those teams, at least how they were perceived from the outside and in terms of marketing.

Seems the pretty limited spending ($15ish million) and fWAR results for early in this 2025 season are pretty closely aligned...within three spots in the standings. Pretty sure this methodology doesn't count Amaya against the Sox either. Ofc, last year was obviously a pretty big debacle in this particular metric.
