  1. Hes at 94 with change or two seamer at 90.
  2. Kerry Bonds does it again..all early in counts.
  3. Benintendi with a very good play to save two runs...wouldn't have gone out.
  4. No reason to play the infield in this early. Just puts more pressure on guys like Vaughn. Joey Cora put on the brakes for Greene. Would have been dead to rights. 62 mph ev classic Aaron Bummer hit
  5. Well that fizzled out quickly. Hard to sustain an inning with this offense...or lack thereof.
  6. Well this inning is a bit of a shock. Need to get at least two. Nick Maton has to the weakest DH in baseball.
  7. Robert now has two walks. There's that.
  8. Lee Sosa and Vargas are arguably under the most immediate pressure. Vaughn...not really? So Baldwin Benintendi and Maton's two homers in limited playing time are about it for offense. The bullpen is already showing signs of being overexposed. And we have three more veteran outfielders sitting on the bench with Tauchman in waiting. Yay?
  9. White Sox throw Martin vs. Olson... Only Robert .900 and Benintendi .200 carry OPS numbers against Olson over .100 career-wise. Maton seems to be the new platoon DH and Baldwin continues to play all over the diamond...which is helping versatility but not his defensive efficiency. Don't see any point to giving Amaya much more playing time.

  11. Unless they're going to turn the White Sox into the Savannah Banana Slugs... "In an attempt to adapt to free agency, he developed a "rent-a-player" model, centering on the acquisition of other clubs' stars in their option years. The gambit was moderately successful: in 1977 the White Sox won 90 games and finished in third place with additions such as Oscar Gamble and Richie Zisk.[38]" At least Veeck had some financial innovations that resulted in memorable seasons like the Southside Hitmen of 1977. We're currently a million miles from even third place. He had a sense of joy about baseball and being around the everyday fans in the bleachers and upper deck that JR simply lacks.
  12. Sox hitters have not done well against Olson, lol In 34 at bats, Benintendi has the second highest ops at 200. Coldest hitter, Luis Robert, at .900
  13. They've gone from $70 million to under $10 million on their CHSN deal...maybe they can leverage the Bulls and Blackhawks to push it up to $13-15 million but that's a not insignificant hit to the bottom line.
  14. These former #1 prospects have 9 lives. Josh Hamilton probably the best redemption story...fun while it lasted.
  15. The White Sox are NOT a 72-90 team (.444 winning percentage). They will be quite fortunate to get out of the 50s.
  16. Jacob Gonzalez with a bases clearing triple for Birmingham. 6-4 Barons.
  17. Bonemer and Montgomery struggling with RISP tonight. Braden in CF tonight.
  18. Schultz got out of bases loaded no outs with three consecutive Ks. Still trailing 4-0. At least he battled through it. In AAA Quero Teel Elko raking and Montgomery has an RBI and walk but only that one homer in the first week. 0.048.
  19. https://www.mlb.com/milb/news/the-baseball-traveler-barons-radio-broadcaster-exits-the-booth?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  20. Uh oh Schultz has given up four hits in a row. 2-0. Runners on first and second, no outs in second. Five hits...3-0 Smokies after a DP almost helped Schultz get out of it. Barons' offense not much to get excited about. Omar Narvaez and Colas both in the lineup. Schultz starts third with yet another single surrendered and HBP. Walk bases loaded no outs. 4-0 still no outs. Another single..7 by my count.
  21. Schultz with two Ks in the first. No velo readings at MiLB Gameday.
  22. If he keeps playing like this, he and Vaughn will both be non-tendered/bought out.
  23. Why is Tim Anderson still the model? Guess nobody could be motivated to use Luis Robert, Jr. instead...
