QUOTE (docsox24 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) Sorry I just didn't like the guy. All he did was swing for the fences and struck out 100 times. He hit for a terrible average and was poor fundamentally. A .240 hitter that hits 25 homers doesn't impress me at all. Plus he made a ton of errors. but........

QUOTE (docsox24 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) 10) Jose Valentin - he may not belong for his production but he is my least favorite sox player ever 9) Scott Schoenewis - just a terrible pitcher who kept getting chances 8) Roberto Alomar - for continuing to bring him back like he was the answer when he was well over the hill 7) DeAngelo Jimenez - lazy player wasted talent 6) Danny Richar - another joke of a 2b 5) Jerry Owens - i can hit a softball farther than he can hit a baseball 4) Luis Terrero - that year makes me ill 3) Joe Borchard - we all know the story here, shame cause i hung out with him and he was a really nice guy 2) Darrin Erstad - another overrated veteran who got way too many at bats 1) Andy Gonzales - man i hated 2007, i almost cancelled my season tickets the common theme on my list seems to be 2b and cf. i hope i am not adding rios to this list in a few years... blasphemy

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 08:57 AM) In an article I just read about Jake Locker (talking about the possibility of him suffering an injury, like Sam Bradford): "Yet history indicates that the Oklahoma QB's injury is both rare and surmountable. Of the 252 senior quarterbacks drafted in the last 20 years, CBSSportsline.com draft expert Rob Rang cites just 13 who suffered injuries as seniors. In all instances, the impact on draft status was minimal." He also goes on to mention a guy like McGahee who completely ruins his knee, but still gets drafted in the first round and makes his millions. Couple this with the insurance policies these guys already have, and I don't think the injury thing is as big of a deal as it's made out to be. After all, there's nothing stopping a guy getting a career ending injury in summer workouts for the team that drafted him, ruining his career forever (in both cases the few millions he gets from insurance or a signing bonus is going to have to support him for his life - how rough). Maybe Locker wants a 2nd Heisman run? To be more of a national name and therefore increase his draft stock? I dunno, maybe he just enjoys being THE man in Washington and bangin lots of coeds? As for Benn, looks like he's got a 2:00 press conference today to announce his plans. How could he even improve his stock? I know he could certainly damage it. I'm sorry but this is not a wise move. You take the millions when you have the chance. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 12:31 AM) We won't get Dunn. I've always wanted him and we never get guys I want badly. I wanted Granderson and Halladay and Cliff Lee (Peavy's good, though) and Bartlett and McLouth in the past. I wonder if KW wants Thome back to give Thome a shot at another postseason (one in which he can actually play) with all that good starting pitching we've got. This is the same reason I am convinced the sox will not get Dunn until he's bad.

QUOTE (Sox72 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:57 PM) I've only been to one sporting event here and it was to a Cardinals game when they were playing the Cubs so I wasn't really rooting for anyone and couldn't judge their hostility. You think people will pour beers on us cause we're Hawks fans? I.E. is it a Dodgers crown or a Phillies crowd? No, St. Louis fans tend to be very nice and respectful of other fans. You should be fine.

I've been to the Scottrade for both a Blackhawks/Blues games and a couple times for the MVC tournament. I really don't have any answers for your questions but you will most definitely have a good time. Cheap tickets and good views from everywhere in a nice little arena.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 07:34 AM) Jake Locker's coming back for his senior season. Probably not too many other juniors in a position like he is in are gonna be making that decision this year. Yeah this is a terrible idea. I just don't have any idea why he would stay. -

I don't even know how Chris Bosh could possibly only get two rebounds in 31 minutes. You'd think he'd get at least 3 on accident. -
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 09:00 PM) Oh good, I only read the trade blurb on Yahoo and Rotoworld and they indicated that Pierre would play CF. It'll be interesting to see who has the better numbers next season b/w Podsednik and Pierre also. That could be hard as I could see either one being injured/benched for extended periods of time.

I am not looking forward to watching Juan Pierre for a whole season.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 09:19 AM) Thats true, although UCLA did barely lose to Butler on two last second free throws and they hung around with Kansas for a while. Their start to the season has been worse, but I think over the course of the year they will turn out to be a better basketball team than Iowa. Long Beach State actually has a pretty tough schedule so far too. Luckily, neither team has to face Illinois State, what a bloodbath that would be!!! I know you are just poking fun at us, but ISU would beat either UCLA or Iowa. I think they would handle Iowa rather easily. -

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Dec 9, 2009 -> 01:55 PM) Haha I was mocking the ISU fans with that 5th best comment. It wasn't even an ISU fan that said 5th best....... -
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 04:00 PM) People actually live in Iowa? Wild. I thought it was more of a seasonal thing myself.
