After what Koch did last season in Oakland, and Gordon starts to mouth off like that, there will be some tension. Gordon was signed as a set-up man/reliever and that's where he will stay. I don't think he has a reason to talk about wanting to be the closer when Koch is around, because it ain't going to happen. i know that..lets just hope gordon does
-
thats the first thing that through my mind when i heard about that trade.. youre telling me bean wouldnt have done foulke / paul / valentin for just billy koch???
-
can you imagine an outfield someday of maggs - borchard - vlad??? or how about adding barry zito to the staff?? zito , buehrle , colon , garland , wright???....wow or how about this bullpen?? white ,wunsch , marte , gordon , koch , percival or this infield konerko , valentin , rodriguez , crede?? or piazza as our catcher just adding one superstar to this team at any position would make us a 100 win team

Josh Paul is NOT faster than Miguel Olivo....he's faster than Alomar, yes, but then again, who isn't? Olivo stole like 25 bases in AA ball last year and hit like 10-15 triples. Slow people normally don't steal 25 bases and hit 10-15 triples. And baggs....how much DOES your son weigh? Yeah, I was going to say, that doesn't sound right. Paul doesn't come close to Olivo in speed. Paul just isn't going to cut it this year. Olivo and Alomar will be playing almost the whole year. Poor Paul; enjoy the playing time on St. Patrcik's Day while you can. not enough to keep olivo on the team ..lol..about 135 a race between miguel and josh would be fun to watch..both guys run real well for catchers....i bet it would be a close race

i agree on garland ..im not really expecting anything better than last year from him..most pitchers his age are still in the minors...so if he regresses a little it would be crazy to give up on him..lets not forget what happened when we gave up on kip...if you bring up a 20 year old to pitch..then you gotta live through his growing up
-
i worery about gordon's past attitude problems more than his pitching..if koch blows a few saves gordon will be screaming that "i should be the closer"
-
please carlos..just dont screw up this year..thats all i can expect
-
glad to have ya back

if olivo is still hitting my 13 year old son's weight by the end of ST...its gotta be josh for the back up spot

While I liked Mike Sirotka when he pitched for the Sox, after he was traded for D Wells..... a D Wells that was, up to that point in 2001, superior to Mike Sirotka..... he talked about himself like he was Cy Young. I remember him saying something to the effect of ".....I don't know what they're thinking." While all on this board knows how the trade panned out, not many on here can truthfully say they weren't thrilled when they first heard about it. Same with Butter. Butter was much worse though. I remember a real whiny piece where Butter was interviewed by the Sun-Times last season and Butter took this "Whoa Is Me" approach to the interview. A week or two later, he finally gets the call-up that he whined about a few weeks earlier in the Sun-Times interview and proceeds to get owned by Mike "I didn't hit my weight afterwards" Cameron. ast that point in their careers before both got injured i think siro was the better..definately a better upside...wells wo 20 games in '00 but he won 5 after the break andf had a 2nd half era of 5...thats what scared me off of wells...that whole situation was a disaster though..for everyone

well.. he could probably make the season if it not to severe..but texas is kidding itself if they dont think it is serious..i cant stress this enough..once a disc starts to bulge it is impossible to fix it....you cant push it back in...cortizone and anti imflamitories can relieve the symptoms for awhile but they can not fix the problem...being that arod has a physical job it can only get worse...now the question is how fast and how much worse will it get???...that no one can answer....he could play through this his whole career...or he might be under the knife by june...no one can tell..no matter what texas is saying...its impossible.. the only way to fix it is with surgery..and if its one level there is probably a greater than 99% chance arod comes back 100%..but even then you are at about a 30% chance of the disc below and above the fused section herianting within a 5 -10 year tiome period if you continue in an active lifestyle because you dont have the movement in the fused area so it places more stress on those discs.. oh yeah..one thing about MRI's..there is no such thing as a small problem if it shows up on an MRI..doing research ive learned that doctors live and die wih the MRI because its the best tool they have but in reality MRI's miss much more than they catch..just go back to mike sirotka...it took 3 MRI's to find his torn labrum..then when they went in they found that he also had a level 2 rotator cuff tear..thats a moderate tear which wasnt picked up in 3 MRI's all done at different angles...my MRI showed a very minor buldge too, like arod's..after a year of therapy and no improvements another MRI showed only a slighty degenrating condition..so we went ahead with surgery..when they got into my neck my surgeon later told me he never saw a more messed up disc for only a one level surgery..the disc was completely herniated , i had bone spurs that were forming that were razor sharp and cutting the nerve that runs down my left arm which has left my that arm at about 20% of its original strength..its practically useless now..hopefull yas time goes on my strength comes back...but none of this showed up on my MRI so if they find something in any MRI..its not minor..because if it was minor it wouldnt show up on the MRI at all i guess what im trying to say is once this process starts..it only gets worse...

ill give sirotka another before id say he is done for sure...look at jose rijo..anything can happen but it doesnt look good for mike...still pisses me off when kenny would make fun of sirotka and called it shouldergate...if sirotka ever sees williams again he should do a "preemtive strike" on his dumb ass

france backpeddled now and has said they want to give iraq a30 day deadline ...maybe they can work that down to 10 days or so and have everyone on board...getting tough seems to have weaken france's position a little..so we should push it
-
it wont be rauch..he at this pointin time is behind both stewart and heredia for that final spot...he seems to be all screwed up in the head right now..according to DJ he said on tv yesterday if wright cant go the 5th spot looks to be stewart's

If they had traded Gibbons to Colorado for Cust....their GM should be shot. He would have been shot already. Their GM is alive....because Gibbons is still in Baltimore. It was Richard for Cust. Trading a stud in Gibbons for a guy who didn't hit in Colorado of all places would have been a huge mistake. gibbons is my fantasy lerague 1st baseman..tell me it was him that got sent to colorado Lol, but Helton would be playing over him. Be glad it was Richards. I've always liked Jack Cust. gibbons came up as a rf...i figured colorado wanted him for a corner outfield spot

you cant fix a herniated disc..once it starts to buldge there is no way to push it back in place...anti-inflamatories relieve some of the pain but once it starts to herniate it can only get worse...if you live a seditary lifestyle you can get by w/o doing more damage but in arod's case it will as time goes on get worse because of the physical nature of baseball the thing that should worry arod and team officials is the weakness in his left shoulder..thats what i had..what that means is the the disc is bulging and compressing the nerve that runs down the left arm...as it starts to buldge more it will increase the weakness people have completely blown out discs before and not even known it...it depends what else they effect...but if his is bulging onto a nerve..thats not good...just have to wait and see

with that gut he is carrying rick white looks like a dead ringer for david wells
-
damn clujer how did you type that so fast
-
white gives up a homer but strikes out 2...his fastball looked very good...topped out at 90..he is suppose to throw 92-93 so he is getting close..the homer was a hanger...he did throw 2 nice curveballs that looked like strikes but the ump said no...though neither one was to the guy that homered..
-
rick white in to pitch..lets hope he looks a little better today
-
watch MJ hit like 280 this year in oakland...just our luck
-
frank thomas with a great defensive play...he looks to be in great shape...one might call him "skinny"...lol
