  2. "Everything's fine in Wrigleyville if the Cubs lose and Sammy (Sosa) hits 2 home runs. Everything's copacetic. They sell out every day. As long as they're drunk and happy...'' - Todd Hundley, as quoted in Barry Rozner's column today.

    UGA Troubles

hasnt herrick been in trouble before both at pepperdine and UCLA??..or am i thinking of someone else??? that might have even been in the article posted but im too lazy to open the thread
  4. yw...its cool to see how the intel comes together
  5. The BlackHawks "White Flag" started a long time ago..... right around the time Roenick and Belfour left. The last time this team was competitive, even remotely competitive, was about 10 years ago now. I can't remember who said it here first, but it looks like last year was, indeed, a fluke. like the '01 bears
  6. I watch a lot of MSNBC, CNN, and FOXNEWS and I didn't see that story air one time in the hours upon hours I watched. apu and CK...thanks for the info on mumia....of course ive heard of him and his situation but im pretty ignorant on the subject so cant comment intelligently on it either way.. wouldnt surprise me if he was innocent..its not like we havent been finding out lately alot of innocent people are in jail...also wouldnt surprise if millions get behind the movement only to find out they are supporting a vicious cop killer... the one thing i do know for sure is a cop was killed defending the citizens of philly..in these kinds of stories alot of times those things get lost in everyone's zeal to see justice served...thats a shame

    France

think the UN will bring war crimes against the US and have president bush arrested if this is an illegal war as you say???.... the UN,,which is our baby and was founded on our ideals of freedom has turned into a billion dollar debating society where when faced with 800,000 rwands massacred cant even come together to go in by force and do something about it...or they back down on a vote to go to war with serbia because russia threatened to use its veto power..the UN like france has become a disgrace.. did you know in 95 france abstained in a vote that was to send inspection teams back into iraq after in 94 when saddam kicked the out??...saying it wasnt necessary..and in 97 they also abstained on a vote to form hans blix inspection team and step up inspection...again saying it wasnt necessary....the french have no intention of removing saddam...its a great business deal for france...france is a joke for those of you who are anti-war there are plenty of reasons you can find to support your position..please dont destroy your credibility by using the french as an example...
  8. something like that...bobby has the loyalty of former players like no other coach ive seen since maybe bear bryant or joe paterno

  11. dalkowski!!!..thats the guy i was talking about in the other thread...
  12. when is wright scheduled to pitch next???
  13. that idea could work..he reminds at the plate of another former CF brett butler...but since the sox havent worked him out in CF at all this ST i dont see it happening....good thinking outside the box though
  14. maybe they dont have dental insurance
  15. bobby knight has to be one of the more complex individuals in sports today...for all his bullying tactics and some of his very questionable relationships with former players , there are a majority of players who it seems like would take a bullet for him....i heard more than one former great athlete say if he could pick any college coach to send his son to it would be bobby knight (jim brown was the latest that i remember) interesting dude..

st louis would never do that deal....lee is on the verge of becoming a free agent and they still have pujhols for like 3 more years before he gets major bucks through free agency..plus he is a huge fan favorite....it would take maggs and buehrle to get pujhols and morris and no way i do that deal... but if you could swing carlos lee for luis pujhols !!!..lol
  17. apu..who is that a picture of in sig box??...he looks like that john walker lind guy that fought with the taliban

Based on what? Show it to us so we'll know what we're talking about. You seem to have all the facts. They say the proof is in the puddin', but where's the puddin'? Show me puddin'. HSC has her sources and in the past they have proven to be very reliable...if she says a deal was worked out and JR at the least minute made changes that caused it to be nixed i believe her...
  19. i thought mcdowell's career ended because of an arm injury too... who was the guy in the mid 60's that pitched for baltimore ithink it was..he was supposed to have the best fastball ever but had terrible control and thus spent more time in the minors then the majors..supposedly he had very bad vision and wore the big thick coke bottle type lenses and would always squint in for the sign...which would scare the hell out of the batters..lol

Contradictions, galore. Madam, this is what you said in the post before (less the annoying ......'s and with correction punctuation and proper grammar)... "See once again you guys are jumping before hearing both sides of the story. Don't judge till you know ALL the facts." Then, you turn around and say "this one is on JR". Make up your mind - either reserve your judgement until you hear more about it, or come out and comment now -- but you can't have it both ways. Based on what I've heard about the deal that was rejected, Mark would have had $10M over 3 years guaranteed, and if he pitched 200+ innings in 2005, he would get $7M in 2006, and the Sox would have a $10M option for 2007. He's thrown 200+ innings in each of the past 2 years, so there's no reason to think he wouldn't do it again. That makes the deal 4 years for $17M -- over $4M per season. That is VERY fair. Based on that, it's on Mark and his agent -- NOT JR. i can have it anyway i want it..... and you heard wrong... dead wrong... those numbers and clauses are not whats in the writing.......not even close.......dont like what i have to say then dont read it...... wanna believe everything the press tells you go on ahead.. those of us who know better know what the real deal is.. this one is on jr cause he was in fact the one who turned down the first deal that was all worked out between marks agent and hahn... jr re did the deal......and that is the reason it was turned down by marks agent... its got so many cluases and unfair outlandish ideals that even superman himself couldnt adhear to all the stipulations in it............. its another frank thomas type contract
  21. i knew you would come around on james baldwin
  22. im so glad i gave up following the hawks and dollar bill....

    wierd shit

his dad has friggen alzheimers...doesnt that count for anything???..the article also says mel and his father do not agree on a lot of things..and since his dad is in houston and mel out in LALA land and from the tone of the article im guessing they had a serious falling out this article was totally uncalled for...its not right to pry into the family of anyone..no matter how famous they are...and mel asked this reporter specifically not to bother his father because he is sick...this was wrong... where is the tolerance for freedom of religion here???..its seems like we only tolerate freedom "from" religion
  24. not only is olivo not hitting but boy did he looked overmatched against zambrano on saturday..he looked like a pitcher trying to hit...swinging at pitchers that were already in the catcher's glove...he better his s*** together soon...this is the key position for us...if olivo falls on his face josh paul could end up leading us to the promised land
