well.. the other here put it much better than i could so ill only answer your last question i dont think of myself as a pessimist but a realist...i bounced around a lot about where this team would finish in the off season..in the end i pickked 88 wins and 2nd place...thats about what we are doing

take a look at our schedule...july we play minn twice and the rest of the time its cleveland , detroit , kc , tb , balt...but after that august and sept are brutal...april was the 2nd easist month for us...it was almost imparrative we had a hot april and an extremely hot july...we need a lead going into august..if we are behind we will have to make up ground against boston , new york , the west coast teams ,toronto..all the top tier teams... a 14-13 start really isnt what we needed...a 20-7 april would have set us up for a tough may and june...we will likely need a 22-7 july against the bottom feeders to set us up for a very tough final two months...

in a wierd way i almost think isolationism is what we do need as a country for awhile...everyone is saying we would suffer this and that..well maybe that would happen...but i also think it would give up a kick in the ass that we might desperately need right now...our sense of independance makes us ingenuative by nature...we would probably find out things we are getting from foriegn countries could be made better and cheaper here eventually....as far as trade deficeits...most of the countries we trade with have us buying more from them then they from us...so not buying those things and forcing people to buy domestic because they have no other choice would help our economy... but i think its imnport ant we be good world citizens too...if the rest of the world went to hell in a handbasket than that would have some negative way of coming back on us..so while i like the theory of isolationism i dont advocate it but being self sufficient to me is never a bad thing...seems to work for switzerland
