Which is as it should be - let JM manage and succeed or fail without the Cell Phone King interfering in every move - I think it is great that in a choice between the GM and manager, KW and EE chose the manager - that will allow JM all he needs, whoever the new GM is, to sink or swim on his own i guess this should be no surpurse...every player thats left the organization with the exception of durham has trashed KW bigtime....and he probably didnt do it because he got to go to winner..he has to be loving his new situation in san fran... i hope he gets s***canned so the whole story comes out...there has to be so much more than what we have...im sure some players went to EE and said.DO SOMETHING!!!

we needed to keep fernendez because we dont have a CF prospect thats not due to arrive before '07.. look what we got in trade for ray durham jimenez , with all his problems in san diego was worth no more than a PTBNL...remember it was a serious buyer's market last year

youre not calling the one last night a bad call are you???..jimenez was clearly out...and that was on a change up low and outside where the catcher threw it to the wrong side of the bag and boone still was able to catch it and sweep the tag all the way over to the other side of the bag...anyone with decent speed makes that standing up...the other one i dont remember..but i do know he is slower than molasses

how much have you seen jimenez play???...yeah he is hitting pretty good now...i expect his average to drop downwards of 270 ish...he has a good eye and will draw his share of walks..over the season probably carry a 350-360 OBP....but he has little power , 10 homers maybe and absolutely no speed..and if there is a worse defensive 2nd baseman in baseball i havent seen it...i know some of that is due to his accident which is a shame but still, he has no range and when he is moving to his left or right he can not get the glove down on the ground...how many balls have gone right under his glove???...and dive for a ball and get up and throw a guy out???..forget it...plus his attitude has been documented in here by steff and HSC , valentin talked about how lazy he is in ST and cwsox relayed info about how he dovee for a ball and just laid on the ground cause he missed and didnt get up into cut off position or cover 2nd...is he really the kind of ballplayer that will help the sox to the division title??? maybe im so hard on jimenez because so many the first week of the season were saying ray who..and after jose , ray was my favorite...but i see alot of negatives in jimenez... we needed to resign durham badly imo

since we wont call up borchard, fernandez is a better choice than rowand or harris in CF...eventhough he's an AA in san deigo..really shows how far this organization has fallen under the leadership of KW.. you draft these kids out of the dominican at 15 , so them being a rule 5 doesnt mean they are failures....its not like he his 27 , fernandez is 21 years old..he couldnt possibly any worse at the plate than rowand or any worse in the field than harris...thats beside the point..we had miles , hummel , and harris as 2nd prospects..we had fernandez as the only legit CF type (rowand and borchard are more corner outfielder types)...fernandez might never develop , who knows??...but its stupid imo to trade off the only prospect thats close to being ready at the CF position to gain a guy at a position where you already have 3 guys coming up.... atleast fernandez has some speed..some skills...is there a slower 2nd baseman in all of baseball????..whoever coined jimenez as the "latin paul konerko" regaurding his speed hit it right on the head.... CF is killing this team right now...if jimenez's career ended tomorrow we got 2 guys we could stick at 2nd and probably not miss a beat and rafacosta..boone better than durham??..please... he had one steriod induced career year..his career numbers dont come close to matching durham's...durham's OPS is still 20 points higher (despite boone now becoming the incredible hulk) than boone's and ray steals 25 -30 bases a season....

here is what we should have done if money was the big issue with durham...dumped konerko and lee , replaced them with rios and daubach...kept durham and foulke , thus nullyfing the botch trade...if we dont trade for jimenez we also haver alex fernandez..atleast one legit CF prospect... we would have a better team and the payroll would be less than it is now... you dont give up one of the top 2nd baseman in baseball to keeop an average first baseman and a piss poor LF..thats crazy

durham did not sign for 8 million dollars..dont know where that number came from..here is his contract staus with san fran 2003: $4.0M (+$3.6M signing bonus) 2004: $6.0M 2005: $6.5M 2006: Player option $7.0M 6 to 7 mill a year is about right for what durham brings to the table...

problem is frank is on pace for about 50 -60 rbi and thats with jimenez and valentin both hitting welll ahead of him...now what will happen is frank will start to hit and jimenez and val will go cold and then you see alot of 2 out singles and doubles from frank...this team is too streaky..we need some guys that hit consistently

have you seen him in the field??...he has no range and when he is on the move he cant bend over al lthe way to the ground..so alot of those grounders go right under his glove... 15-20 homers???...what his career best so far??..like 4....did you see him running the bases last night???...i think he would give paully a run for his money in a foot race.. bad attitude , little power , less speed...he is not what we need..he is not what any team needs...he is not gopnna hit 300 all year and when he comes back to earth his deficiencies will be that much more glaring
