i dont think it could ever be a great offense (not enough lefty power , no speed) but it could a good offense...good enough to win 95 games in this pewtred division...but just like last night when the game was on the line for frank..this team just doesnt have the right mentality...we about wore out chavez and tejada tonight on ground balls to the left side...thats when we wernt striking out...im beginning to wonder if we will have to break this team up completely and start all over if we ever wan ta real winner... if we dont turn it around this season id junk just about everyone and start over...let borchard get a chance at growing into a team leader...anything is better than watching overpaid bunch of under achievers...

let me make it clear i dont share todd jones' views on homosexuality...i just thought it was interesting that billy bean would say the same thing...it tells me that todd jones' is not alone in his views when it comes to baseball players....his view is probably the norm i do give jones credit for being honest...he could have just gave the standard pc answer...i think if people arnt honest about their feeelings then things will never change... all jones' is doing is repeating what he has been taught all his life...i see it all the time coaching football...a kid shys away from a hit and he's a pussy ,a f** it , a wuss...i see it from the other kids and coaches...yes , your kids football , baeball coaches still think that way..just stand by them quietly and listen at a practice or a game when they are talking to other coaches ..you'll be surprised what your here...

this is kinda wierd...but billy bean who is gay and is out of the closest said a lot of the same thing todd jones did last night on "the best dam sports show period" they asked him about a gay athlete coming out and he said that they shouldnt because it would be a huge disruption to the team...he cited as an example that suppose the guy went to lunch with the team's 2nd baseman...happens all the time..but the media would report as , ohh gay lovers??..those kinds of distractions would destroy a team...he also said any gay that comes out in baseball better be a superstar because if you are not a superstar your teammates wont put up with distractions...he said thats why he never even considered it when he played..bean hit about 230 for his career... judging from what billy bean said i think todd jones attitude is probably the norm in a baseball lockerroom and what mark grace and others said about it not bothering them was probably just them trying to avoid controversy....you are still dealing with jock mentality here

i guess jason said it best..frank drilled it but the approach was wrong..and has been for most of our hitters all year in '00 it was a given if jose , or ray , led off an inning with a double they would be moved to 3rd and then brought home whether by hit , or a ground out , or sac fly..it was almost automatic....i credit von joshua with that..he had these guys thinking as a team and hitting the inside of the baseball as hawk likes to say...since we fired him that hasnt been the case... even if frank did hit to the right side there is no gaurentee we win tonight's game..but our chances would have been improved greatly...over 162 games it could be the difference between 95 wins and the division and 85 wins and october golf...

im not sure jas...zito is a pitcher that should normally handcuff paulie...but his bnat is so slow right now he is swinging to zito's speed..foulke throws 90 mph fastballs...konerko couldnt handle it...i was also watching him move around first since so many grounders were hit his way..he really looks like he is moving awkwardly (even for him)..io got a feeling we are gonna be suffering with paulie this year...looks lik that hip problem that moved him to first base in the first place is back...maybe we should let frank get some time at first and DH konerko???

with no statistical evidence, I would think you are right, the rate of incidents seem to be increasing - and alcohol is oftem a factor in a cou8nty in SW Michigan we had a judge drive his car into the bar, and then drive off. That he was a judge may explain wy he was recognised - he claimed that he did not leave the scene, he merely went looking for the bar's owner - and that when the cops found him at his home 1.5 hour later, his blood alcohol level was becuase he had a few drinks afterwards, he had not been drinking until he got and no alcoholo in his system when he hit the bar and drove off.... wonder if he'd buy that story as a judge from a defendant? that would funny if it wasnt so sad drunk driving is a huge problem in this country where so many innocent lives are lost...wish we had a better handle on it as a society

2-4 in one run games..the key for this team will be to get the lead early and build on it..stay away from close games were manufacturing runs are important...im beginning to believe if we dont start scoring 5 runs a game it could be a long year..even with the good pitching
