  2. hey guys...not too good today huh???
  3. bad thing was he loafed after both of those balls after they went over his head...they should play garcia in CF
  4. jeff brantley on espn's baseball tonight came out this morning and said he thinks buehrle will win the cy young award this year..so naturally mark goes out and gives up a 3 spot to cleveland in the first inning
  5. i give jerry manuel a little credit here..he wants harris to hit the ball on the ground..not hard to all fields... harris has been up twice now and failed..thats not that unusual..but remember harris had a hell of a winter league..he tore it up in PR...then stunk it up in ST ..now is tearing it up in charlotte...watching him last year i dont see why in the world this guy would want to hit the ball in the air... harris' speed in incredible...he doesnt need to hit it hard to all fields because if gets on via the single or a walk , he can steal 2nd off of just about any catcher in baseball..thats what jerry wants him to do
  6. maybe we could trade him to tampa for rocco baldelli
  7. what the hell are we suppose to talk about then??...everyt hing is great and there is no way the team can play better or improve??..we are the greatest team in history???..we would only need one post a day then... yup everythings fine..see ya tommorrow
  8. I said the same exact thing about your boy Ray-Ray ray also had a season where he had 72 extra base hits and average over 50 extra base hits while he was here...ray is one of the premiere leadoff men in baseball...ray had power..not great home run power but excellent power in the gaps...
  9. jason , we need a smilie like that
  10. the movie major league really did a good job of capturing baseball...willie mays hays is willie harris...we need lou brown down there in charlotte to manage this guy....everytime willie harris hits a fly ball he ought to be fined..that includes home runs.. jerry manuel told the whole world willie harris wont be back until he learnes to hit the ball on the ground like luis castillo...so what does harris do??...goes to charlotte and thinks he is joe borchard...these guys egos are incredible remember major league II..when the catcher goes "willie has some power" as he hits a home run in ST...and lou brown goes "yea , off a guy that will be sacking groceries next week"....those are the kind of guys willie harris is hitting home runs off of...guys that arnt in the majors and probably wont be soon... that's why he dominates in the minors then gets up here and hits 210 hitting everything in the air...warning track power..

    NFL Draft

ohhhh god i hope you are right.. i dont see how we can pass on a talent like leftwich..if we do then we know this team is not serious about winning...its the perfect time to draft leftwich...we are about 3 years away with good drafts anyways so he will have plenty of time to develop..
  12. that reminds of the guy who robbed a bank and wrote the stick up note on the back of one of his own deposit slips
  13. forgot about caddyshack...thats a great movie too "god damn kid will eat anything"
  14. was olivo and alomar setting up right in the middle of home plate...because the homers he gave up you could have put the ball up on a tee...i think he is hurting big time CK...io guess we will find out soon enough
  15. go to the tribunes archives and read the s*** that happened in '06..the had a big expose on it in '00...people were throwing themselves off buildings...alderman from the southside were have northsiders arrested and visa versa depending on the home team...it was friggen nuts..i cant begin to imagine what would happen this time..look at all the fights during interleague play???..now in the world series the visiting teams get more tickets so there would be more sox fans at wrigley and more scrub fans at the cell...i honestly think after about 2 games the series would have to be moved out of chicago...we have to call in the 3rd id as a security force
  16. depends on your taste...i love going to college football scrimmages..i made atleast one a season when i was in oregon at OSU...you can stand right on the sidelines and talk to players and coaches and stuff...they rock.. id go to the scrimmage and tape the game..but im not a big hockey fan
  17. i am not doubting you, but i wanted to ask is his attitude worst than clayton, if not why do you think some teammate will face him down? its the way he approaches his teamates after he does good that matters to them.. and its not only the "newbies" but he disses on the vets when they dont compare to his nite at play......he had the nerve to tell frank few words and that didnt go over so well with frank.. not only that but he dissed on a few of the new guys like crede and some of the olders like valentin and lee took up for him (crede)in his defense............im saying its not long if it didnt happen already before he alienates his teamates totaly with is big mouth and his attitude...mho only based on what i have heard from some of the guys............. Keep the players wives and ex-wives away from Jimenez PLEASE!!!!! NO s***.................LOL lmao..poor frank ill bet you that b**** of an ex of his is already eyeing jimenez at the park
  18. Are you familiar with Bill James's Actual and Expected Double Plays? It measures how many double plays a team turns, as opposed to how many it should've, based on how many runners were on first, etc. Well, Valentin played 100 games at shortstop (or short and second combined) in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998 for the Brewers, and 2000 for the White Sox. In 1993, the year before full-time Jose in Milwaukee, they turned 1.6 DPs less than expected. However, in 1994-1998, they exceeded the DP prediction every year, by 13.7, 17.3, 12.4, 20.2, and 31.8 (a tremendous number.) The next year, Jose was injured, and the Brewers turned less double plays than expected once again, this time by 14.5. In 1999, pre-Jose, the Sox turned 5.9 double plays less. In 2000, we turned 26.7 more. In 2001, with Royce the Choice keeping Jose at third, we were back down to 5.8 less than expected. This is substantial proof at what a great SS Jose is. (credit for this goes to a fan with the nickname mollineaux at chisox.com)

  20. if i was everett id have kept the phone and ran up the guy's bill
  21. Range is something that you can't really improve. You can to a certain extent, but Carlos is doing all he can to make up for it by RUNNING to balls hit into the corner, and by CHARGING basehits and trying to prevent guys from scoring from 2nd on a single. He seems to be very proficient at making sliding/diving catches also. He's made 2 or 3 very nice ones already this year, and has seemed to get them with regularity throughout his career with the Sox. He ended today with a 3-run HR and a great catch...hopefully he will carry that momentum into tomorrow's game. You can definately improve range, but you can't do it by getting faster, you can only do it by getting better jumps and recognizing where the ball is going better. Therefor, Carlos was terrible at that when he first came up and now he is really improving at it. I have given Carlos plenty of credit for improving defensively and players don't seem to want to run on him. He has worked hard and has taken great pride in his improving defense. Also, he looked solid at the plate again today. I am hard on Carlos only because I think he can be so damn good, either way I'm not really in favor of moving him. I'm happy with our entire team and I do believe Rowand can play but I've just been so dissapointed by his swing. He had some good hacks today though. Olivo had an awesome game today. I loved his hustle. His speed/hustlee caused a few things to happen today. because he was a 3rd basemen and then moved to left its gonna take awhile to get adjusted. it seems like alot of you guys are hopin on the carlos lee bandwagon now that he is doin better. take a while??...i guess..its been 5 years now...newsflasg gutys..this carlos came up as a 3rd baseman so its an excuse for his poor fielding doesnt fly anymore...chipper accomplished it from day one,,albert pujhols too one thing ill say about carlos defensively..he made a throw in the KC from the outfield wall on the fly to 2nd base..and it wasnt that much of a rainbow..its the best throw ive ever seen him make...but still a few times this year guys ahve turned singles into doubles on him where if a jacque jones was out there i doubt they even challenge...but its an improvement
  22. thanks..ill have to pick that up
