Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
you should know by now that this team can't figure out such an obvious fact like that, Eloy will absolutely play a little bit of LF throughout the year, I'd put money on it.

Carlos Correa is a Twin - 6 yrs $200M
you think LAA is gonna let him walk? I'm betting on an extension or at the bare minimum they trade him for a haul

removing Tim gives you the potential to be better for the future. the debate becomes do the Sox have a better chance of winning a title right now with small upgrades or do they have a better chance by restocking the farm and getting near max value for their top guys who they aren't going to resign anyways it's a s%*# situation either way because you're rolling the dice and taking a risk no matter which option you choose at least there's more of a payoff by retooling for a contention window in 2025-2026 (I'm well aware of the response: "YoU tRuSt haHn tO LeAd a REbUiLd??///")

Last I heard Liam, didn't have rumors going around about infidelity and club house issues either

it's funny. I've been working in Chicago for the last 3 months. all I see throughout the entire city are Sox license plates, in fact I can't remember the last cubs plate I've seen. it's bizarre.

they aren't going for it and spending money, that's the point at least a rebuild sets you up for the future, and rebuilds the desert that is our farm system it also cuts payroll so theoretically in 2 to 3 years, you can burn 35-40m/year on a huge all star Check out the 2025 and 2026 Free Agent class on Spotrac https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/2025/outfield/ https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/2026/outfield/

They can literally just ask for top prospects. It's player development where their issues stem IMHO, still doesn't make you wrong but top prospects are much easier to develop

I'd be curious to see a poll of Soxtalk members who prefer keeping Giolito, TA, Hendriks and adding marginal at best players vs Trade these guys who still have some value (Even Giolito has some value imo) to retool their awful minor league system (Sox aren't competing in 2023) and these trade chips are GONE or lose massive value after this year I don't wanna make the poll, someone else do it ?

Apples and Oranges Abreu was a 4 win player last year and arguably the glue that held this island of misfit toys together TA was a 2 win shortstop who has off the field/clubhouse issues, who's one trick is hitting for average I was/am pissed that Abreu is gone, I wouldn't mind in the slightest if TA was traded, in fact I kind of want it to happen because we could probably get a decent haul in an overpay

Liam Hendriks coming up in trade discussions
Sox will be better off hanging onto Hendriks until the TDL, just cross your fingers he's performing at his expected norms (this will be tied directly to how the defense is, just based on his comments a few weeks ago)
