QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) It was to premature to take him out. Let him try and finish the inning at the very least. Ozzie likes to take his pitchers out before they have an opportunity to lose, and I freaking hate that idea. You should let the pitchers have the opportunity to win. And that, in combo with our god awful defensive positioning with the pitcher at bat, is gonna cost us the game, most likely. wtf, he's on 3 days rest!

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 07:11 PM) Oh my god, that would also be absolutely f***ing awful. That would be like trading Jenks for Kyle McCulloch and Brad Eldred (I know he's not with the club anymore, but he's the first AAAA slugger I could think of that was last on the White Sox). If you trade Jenks and are going to go the prospect route, you need to get two top 100 baseball prospects, preferably at least one who is considered an "impact" prospect. I don't like Kenny's definition of "Impact", i.e. Lillibridge, Getz, Fields, Owens. Beckham doesn't count, he wasn't in our plans for this year until we started playing like trash

Thornton would have to bring in a CANT MISS, or a top player, he's the best left-handed reliever in baseball IMO. -

I don't want Fields to face Zumaya, the result will be pretty obvious -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 06:12 PM) I literally sat there and said to my TV, first pitch slider gets him here Bobby. Sure enough he was in swing mode and anything other than a fastball probably gets a ground ball. Sad thing is, he threw the pitch AJ wanted, right to where AJ's glove was Who calls these pitches, Cooper? AJ? -

AJ batting 5th in this lineup has done wonderful things for us. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:41 PM) You call yourself a White Sox, fan? Of course he, does! Beckham trying to hit the curveball, though it was a roller, what kind of pitch did he hit deep in the 2nd inning? FB or curve/slider? -

danks2's k rate.... due to poor pitch recognition/selection, or is it another josh fields-esque "cant catch up to the fastball"? -
Beckham has played solid baseball ever since he came up to the big squad, and when he wasn't hitting the ball he was playing defense that Fields could only dream about, and now that he's hitting and taking walks, and the defense is still there, is there any reason at all to remove him from the lineup now? I sincerely hope not

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) Well the ray of sunshine, Beckham looked good up at the plate tonight against a pretty tough pitcher. 1 for 3. Keep hitting, and it will come. opposite field base hit, linedrive to left center and... can't remember his other at-bat, but i know he got good wood on it he's looked awesome in the box, I know that much

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) You know? That HBP call really cost us the game didn't it? We're 1-3 against the tigers on this homestand The only definitive win, where one team dominated the other was our 1 win The 3 tigers wins are all 1-run wins, two of them were late-game tie breakers, and the other is where they scored their run on a bases loaded walk We've had so many chances to win at least two of those games (The Fields error game we probably would've lost but tonight and last night were so winnable it's sickening, almost maddening) Oh well, I want this blown up pronto
-
Now we know what teams have felt like lately that had to face Gavin It's nice to see Danks go deep into a game with a decent pitch count though, I hope he's turned the corner on those bad starts
-
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) we lost the series. Konerko is hurt. Quentin is hurt. Pull the plug. edited a bit
-
I hope we lose the next 10 games so this s*** gets blown up
-
Pitches it takes to get Fields out this at-bat? I'll say 3 Edit: Well, fields manages to see at least a 4th pitch
-
Jermaine has no clue at the plate tonight
