  1. He could break the strikeout record against us tonight. I seriously mean that
  2. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) If you ask Hawk or DJ, they'll tell you it's because it's better to think fast and slow down for a pitch than to think slow and have to speed up. unfortunately that's only true when you're facing a FB pitcher
  3. always wondered why we as a team haven't looked for a pitchers changeup instead of fastball when they throw 65-70% changeups
  4. Quentin's AB killed that inning, he doesn't normally strike out on pitches like that
  5. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) This team looked really good today, by all accounts. we've made every game look winnable except the game against Masterson.
  6. Tribe won again. So far we're the only team to beat them in a series
  7. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 05:02 PM) Couldn't see what happened live because there's no replay obviously. Kong made the feed to Gavin at 1B, tagged the bag. Runner was out. Gavin forgot it was 3rd out, and tried to make the exchange from glove to hand and dropped the ball. But he didn't in any way juggle or bobble the ball when PK fed it to him, it was in his glove solidly when he tagged the bag.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 03:31 PM) Cafeteria had lemon chicken and mashed potatoes and white creamy gravy. It was sooo delicious. Also, I had Jimmy Johns last night and it was fantastic. Not a fan of Quiznos though? I love Quizno's Baja Chicken, -Bacon, -Onions. Also I LOVED their Broc&Cheese Breadbowls before they discontinued them
  9. Beckham is getting better at 2B
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) Subway, Jimmy Johns, Taco Johns, or Taco Bell? Leaning towards Subway, but Taco Johns is pretty incredible for curing hangovers. If you have never eaten at a Taco Johns, I would suggest getting to Iowa sometime in the very near future. Or Central IL (Peoria area)
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) Like Floyd to have a nice 6 pitch inning or so, and see if he can go complete game. Isn't Gavin always good during the daytime and sucks at night? I can't remember which way it goes, day/good night/bad, or the other way around. But I remember there being a noticable difference
  12. Hawks were a joke this year, don't really deserve to get to the playoffs IMO. If Dallas wins tonight, that will be a choke job of epic proportions.
  13. Using Peavy's most recent injury history to come to the conclusion that he's injury prone is funny to me None of his injuries that he's had over the course of his pitching career have been linked to each other. Ankle, Latissimus Dorsi. I guess by your reasoning, if he strains his neck by sleeping wrong, just chalk it up to being injury prone.
  14. i think sale has given up a homerun in 3 of his last 4 outings, going back to game 162 last year
  15. sale all over the place like he was against the orioles
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 05:22 PM) Maddon playing the numbers by bringing a lefty in. I bet Ozzie's sitting in the dugout laughing his ass off at such unconventional managing. LOL.
  17. gordon looks really good at 2B, amazing range
  18. If thornton blows another save today, oh man. you'd think ozzie would go to more of a committee if he does, right?
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 9, 2011 -> 04:30 PM) Thats stretching it a bit, that's pure skill. lol he was already mid-air with arm extended and the ball was still dropping, if his arm was 2 inches shorter that ball drops
  20. pure LUCK on that catch, ball fell right into his glove. great effort though
  21. lol at Paulie dancing around at 2B
  22. Thoughts on Humber: His stuff is above average, in fact all 3 of his pitches (Curve, Change, FB) are all above average as long as he's hitting 92-93 w/ the FB which he has been He gets really rattled when runners are on first base, just like Floyd
  23. I don't think they'll even entertain putting Sale back in the closer role because of their long term plans of using him as a starter as early as next year after Buehrle walks. The Sox wanted to have their closer situation RESOLVED in 2011 so they could go forward as planned with Sale's development. Thornton sucking as closer really hurts this team. And stop saying Santos as closer. Dude doesn't have enough command of his pitches. He has one good outing, followed by one bad outing.
