  1. the only thing i would do would be to swap walker with another coach on the staff and have them flip-flop, perhaps put walker at bench coach i'm not for this guy losing his job for something that (IMO) isn't entirely his fault i think these guys are psyching themselves out, and have been doing this ever since 2006, for whatever reason
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) Tuesday's a big game for the Sox. Greinke's possibly the filthiest righty in the AL. If the offense can have a good game against him, it sets up for a strong home stand. my vote goes to Halladay, but they're both very good
  3. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) dont be so naive. there were roiders on every team, including your beloved Sox. wow, what a brainless post. i'm not naive, and i'm well aware we had guys on this team using PED's. but who the hell thinks they can toss around the PED arguement when they have absolutely no proof whatsoever of it? that's RIDICULOUS, and you should be ashamed of yourself as a sox fan, and of baseball in general to throw around comments like that just because your feelings are hurt that Swisher has sucked this year. get real dude.
  4. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) Nick Swisher and his .201 batting average need to be benched. He is useless. Lets go with Dye/Anderson/Quentin...and Alexei is really coming on, that's the one good thing we can take from todays offensive performance. when uribe starts playing instead of Alexei "because Uribe is not a defensive liability", i'll probably stop watching these games all together. i took some heat for bashing ozzie on this site, and today was a perfect example of why i think his baseball IQ and overall intelligence is rather lacking, he's just not smart.
  5. swisher was a steroid user in oakland? really? sometimes i'm embarassed to be a member on this site.
  6. Sweet, Toby playing today. And no, this is not meant to be green either.
  7. wow, here's a mindblowing stat the white sox this year have given up 1 run or less 15 times that's an MLB best, btw.
  8. 1920x1200 if possible, only if you don't have to ruin the original IQ of the photos you used though, if 1920x1200 would stretch the images too much, 1680x1050 would be ok
  9. remember when we were 2 games under .500 before we played the giants?
  10. i hate when our young pitchers are afraid of the f***ing bat, throw goddamn strikes
  11. jackson will have at least 41 pitches after this inning ends
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2008 -> 06:09 PM) You know, if we could just get 1 more bat in this lineup working...just 1 more out of the 4-5 guys struggling... let's DH toby hall
  13. apparently CSN+ is out down here, just static
  14. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 29, 2008 -> 11:56 AM) you can't blow words directly out of a guys mouth out of proportion. he said what he said, and what he said is that he doesn't like playing here... he never said once he doesn't like playing here, that was never an exact statement made by him, not that i've read or seen linked to and besides, my post was about the scoring thing, i guess ozzie actually does call the scorekeepers for his players, that's something i never knew about before until today.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3415430 honestly it doesn't sound as bad as it seems after reading that article, just my opinion i wasn't aware that ozzie actually DOES call scorekeepers to get calls changed, this sounds like the media just making a big deal over nothing other than OC thinking ozzie didnt give a s*** about him, the rest seems wildly blown out of proportion
  16. QUOTE (RME JICO @ May 29, 2008 -> 07:49 AM) KC is making a loss into an art form. Minnesota has allowed more runs than they've scored, so more than likely their record will adjust. not if we keep losing to them.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 28, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) When you say not pursued, you mean the White Sox aren't going to pursue him or other clubs are backing off him? i figured it was implied the white sox will not pursue him
  18. on B&B just a few minutes ago, they were just told that Cabrera is most likely not going to be pursued in FA after this year, supposedly has something to do with clubhouse issues
  19. didn't we already play tampa IN TAMPA this year? why are we going BACK to tampa to play them before they play us at home?
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 28, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) Not me. Congrats, white sox. I also wouldn't have believed we've yet to play the Royals. Folks, if we dominate the Royals like they deserve to be dominated, we'll be in great shape in this division. tinfoil hat time cubs haven't won a world series in 100 years so far, they've played the pirates an unbelievable amount of times also, their schedule mysteriously blanked the red sox and the yankees this year we've played a pretty difficult schedule, not based on SOS but due to how many friggin roadgames we've had to play IMO we've passed the hard part of our 2008 schedule, or at least a hefty chunk of the hard part
  21. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 28, 2008 -> 02:59 PM) Didnt the Sox lose 2 out of 3 to open the season at the Jake? he's comparing our last 7 games vs cleveland, we only played 4 games at progressive field in those last 7 games
  22. who would've thought on may 28th we'd be 6-3 against cleveland on the year
  23. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ May 27, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) coco crisp, jonny damon, melky cabrera, jd drew, and bobby abreu are in the top 15 vote getters, that's all i need to say since probably 70-75% (or more) baseball fans are ignorant about the game, it's players, stats other than balls/strikes/homeruns, they need to take the ASG ballot out of the hands of the fans when a game like this actually serves quite a large meaning ultimately, letting the general public determine the talent that goes into that game is ludicrous.
  24. ironically, hitting is down all around baseball right now, especially in the AL Central robinson cano is hitting .224 grady sizemore is hitting .254 Gary Matthews Jr is hitting .218 Vlad is hitting .262 brian roberts is hitting .258 johnny damon is hitting .265 david ortiz is hitting .247 raul ibanez is hitting .268 the list goes on and on now, granted, we have a bunch of guys hitting under .245 which pales in comparison to a lot of these guys, but the comparison is there (most of the aforementioned guys are .300 or higher career hitters, none of our sub .245 guys are well-known .300 hitters (Career avgsThis Year: -- OC:.272,.241 Paulie:.278,.204 Thome:.280,.207 Swish:.247,.205 Uribe:.252,.198) but, the fact that we have Dye, AJ, Quentin all hitting near .300 or above, I think our offense will start clicking before our fate is decided, that's just my opinion. i don't see this as a team slump like 2007, in fact it doesn't even look like the same type of scenario to me, the guys who are struggling mightily are the same guys who are prototypical sluggers, whereas the guys that are hitting well aren't known through their careers as being that (And CQ is just now coming into his own in his first real big league season) just curious if it's the league catching up w/ these hard hitting sluggers (through advanced scouting, better pitching, etc.) or if it has to do with more strict drug policies being enforced now... who knows.
  25. man, who would've thought we'd be 1 game behind the d-backs ,who started out ridiculously hot, on memorial day in the loss column? crazy
