4/26 Doubleheader Thread: Sox vs Orioles CSN, WGN

please don't let this resemble the game against baltimore where Floyd carried the no-no late into the game, danks looks unhittable right now but we have 0 f***ing runs... -

gameday had that last fastball (not the last pitch, that went out to quentin but the one before it) at 94mph -

danks looks fantastic once again. if you notice, his changeup is amazing, you cannot tell by his delivery WHAT pitch it is, it looks like it could be anything out of his hand -

Konk looked absolutely stupid in that at-bat, K'd on 3 pitches, the 2nd and 3rd weren't even strikes -

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 11:25 AM) I wonder when the league will put to use the scouting report on Swisher, throw him strikes because he isnt very skilled at hitting the baseball. if throwing quality strikes whenever you felt like it, and wasn't difficult, a lot more pitchers would have sub 3 ERA's in the league, it's just not as easy as it sounds. now, throw swisher enough get-me-over fastball strikes or offspeed strikes that are right down the middle, and i'm sure he'll have absolutely no problems hitting them

anyone else find this hilarious: haha, i know it's because he's going to be used as a reliever and may be used, but given mark's success this year, this quote was really funny lol -

buerhle pitching game 2, not danks edited: thought they said game 1 -
second time buerhle has been moved to another day to pitch, granted this is because "of the rain out" but it has to at least make you wonder, especially considering 3 out of the 4 times he's pitched this year have been bad to awful

Chris Rongey's logic about thome going opposite field is absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. "He's paid to slug and hit homeruns." Really Chris? No offense, but what if there's a runner on 2nd base and they're playing a hard shift, a single/double to left field or the left center gap is much more beneficial than a weak grounder to the right side. RBI's are RBI's, hitting to the opposite field because you're "Paid to hit homeruns" is hilarious logic. You're not paid to slug out homeruns, you're paid to drive runs in. I'm sure Jim knows this and this is his mentality on it, i just thing Rongey's logic is hilariously retarded.

4/24 Gamethread: Sox (11-9) vs Yankees (12-10), 7:11 WGN

i'd like to see konerko hitting lower in the order but i doubt it'll ever happen, he's just not producing at cleanup, jim has been playing well over the last 4-5 games, going back to the tampa series also cabrera would be great if he could show glimpses of all those dreadful 1st base/3rd baseline linedrives that he used to constantly do to us, all i've seen from him this year for the most part are weak ground balls, sometimes they squeak through the defense, but most of the time they don't -
Looks like a lot of rain tonight (Figures huh?), unfortunately i'll be driving to the game from Peoria I wonder what stubhub's policy is on rainouts, if i can get a refund without even driving up there, or if they'll only refund if the game is PPD. Just don't wanna drive 2.5 hours (5 hours total) for absolutely no point

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) So when exactly is our team going to hit. We are currently 13th in the league. The only thing saving us is the walk right now. 2007 -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) I'm here, thanks. At least Prince delivered tonight. I had someone go to me at work today "guess who's great on the Cubs right now....everyone". The sad thing was it was hard for me to come up with someone. I go "well, I heard Lilly was only throwing 85 mph yesterday". it's always nice to have bragging rights such as : "yeah, our first japanese player took less money to play for us because we've been bad for so long, that we haven't really had the opportunity to win a world series with a japanese player yet, or uh... any player for that matter" -

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) Nice ABs from Crede. 2 swings for lane 3 of the Dan Ryan. And your typical crede popup. Nice game kids. Keep this up, and we will be out of first soon. But he's hitting .300! -

look at the swings crede takes, after uribe I'd say crede is second in our lineup at swinging at bad pitches AJ and Dye have been on the downslide for a week, remember AJ's .498 average? i wonder how many 0-for's and 1-for's in 5 days it takes to bring that down to .330 and below -

swish and quentin are trying to make up for the lack of heart on this team with their own, it's not enough though they are the only two players i see on this team that look like they're busting their ass every day, everyone else is just totally flat edit: i'll add thome to that list, he has been playing hard as well crede, aj, konk, uribe, dye, cab all look disgusting right now -

regretting buying tix for tomorrows game, it'll just be an exact mirror image of this one, and you can put that on the board.
