  1. it's hard not to feel bad for the guy, his body language and facial expressions look like a defeated man who doesn't know he's been defeated yet, hopefully he can find his groove once again, just not against the white sox
  2. AJ's not very smart, he'd be at 1st base at this point
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:58 PM) Look them up online. Theres 4 or 5 of them. They're actually pretty funny. Everywhere.
  4. At least you guys have a legitimate reason to boo him, finally.
  5. Are there any "Gordon Beckham"s in this years draft that I should pay attention to? I'm not really familiar with any of their names or positions or talents in this years draft
  6. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) But, but, but Wise told us booing fans not to blame KW and Ozzie. Haha, what was he supposed to say? Other than nothing, which is the correct answer, but this is purely rhetorical
  7. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) BOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Please explain your crappy numbers before your injury and the rest of your career, Mr. Wise. Because he chose to be the starting CF for the White Sox. How dare he, HOW DARE HE be a below average player. How dare he! People need to get real and look at the big picture before going off on their hyperbolic rants about DWise being this or that He's not very good, we get it. But as long as Kenny and Ozzie keep running him out there, what can he do? It's not HIS fault Boo the organization, not Dwayne, and don't give me that s*** about "Oh, well we ARE booing the organization, that's who we're booing!" Bulls***, you're being stupid and booing Wise and everyone knows it
  8. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) I heard he was going to the DL for starvation. He hasn't eaten since breakfast. "That's it for me, thanks everybody!" "Where's he going?" "Oh, he's practicing showman-ship, he's leaving on a high note" Sir, you may now leave in style
  9. Read topic, adios Fatty! Inflammation in his left knee, probably because he's fat. Retroactive to June 8th
  10. I just heard on B&B that there's a rumor floating around that we're going with a leadoff guy/centerfielder for our first pick? Is Danks2 just not in our plans? Didn't Bell say he was ready? I'm confused
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 12:32 PM) I'm just afraid the Sox AB approach outside of Thome and sometimes PK sets up for the D-Train to dominate he had a no-hitter into the 6th the last time we faced him
  12. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) I hope Willis has one of his classic 5 walk innings. Those are always fun. 5 walks, 0 runs scored, White Sox baseball.
  13. this has always struck me as odd, but what difference does it make if the guy is jewish or not? who was the last latvian orthodox sox player??
  14. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:45 AM) Firesale of who? These guys I'd put on the bubble right now: Count, Colon, Betemit has already been DFA'd, Gobble, Fields, Getz, maybe Nix but I think he's our UT player Count is the only one who is expensive and we can't move his contract without taking on another bad contract. The other players make very little if not the minimum. Moving any or all of those guys wouldn't constitute a firesale IMO. If we're going to run off a firesale then I'd expect to be hearing about Thome, JD, PK, Linebrink, maybe Jenks, Dotel, but who can take on those contracts? I guess I just don't see it. I see activity, and lots of it, but shedding major contracts of players who are coming off the books anyway doesn't seem to make a ton of sense when there's no one to replace them with. specific names he gave, jenks, dye, dotel
  15. Joe Cowley predicting a firesale coming.
  16. QUOTE (Big Daddy Kool @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) Is that a high walk rate? averaging like one walk every 2 innings, yeah that needs to come down a bit also, if gordon and aaron are "major league-ready" at 22 years old, why isn't Danks2?
  17. I don't want Ozzie Guillen anywhere near this team if it's going to be infused with youth, he's a terrible f***ing manager when working with younger guys, he's a veteran-friendly manager, but he'll ruin guys like Beckham and Danks, and who's to say he didn't severely stunt BA's growth as a full-time player granted I don't think BA would've been 5-tooler, but who's to say he couldn't have been better than what he is now, under the guise of someone else
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) Wow, I'm likin this Contreras kid. Maybe he can be the long term answer at the back of the rotation. Colon needs to just come out of the bullpen, he won't be successful in the rotation with one f***ing pitch and a mediocre pitch at that
  19. Perhaps when Beckham forces himself to take more pitches, even if they look hittable, just so he can start getting used to pitchers release points that he hasn't faced before, or he might just need more looks at these guys, he'll start hitting the ball like we know he can he doesn't look good though, but he needs to still play every single day if he's up here, sitting on the bench is the wrong way to groom him
  20. welcome back Jose! let's hope 3rd time through the lineup doesn't have any effects on him
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) Two of the scariest words imaginable: contract extension whatever, if he has somehow found a new approach that can be a permanent adjustment for him that allows him to continue this for more than the rest of this year, I have no problem with it assuming jermaine is gone next year, or at least DH'ing and not playing a corner spot, that would open up a corner spot for pods and cq could stick in a corner spot, it would leave an opening for perhaps danks2 ? or someone not named brian anderson
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 05:46 PM) It's a rebuilding year and that's ok. I'm at the point where I want to see Beckham at short everyday with Ramirez at second and Fields at third. WHERE DOES BRIAN PLAY THOUGH? Oh, nowhere. Get him as far from this team as POSSIBLE. Well, he can be a DRep
  23. Why are we bad? f***ing simple. We have decent veterans with BAD youth
