QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) Is Jeanne Zalasko pregnant again? Or just fat. I noticed that too, her suit is big enough for Jiggets.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) I think the Yanks will probably offer him good money and it will be tough for Cooper to turn it down. That said, I've always thought of Coop as a company man. He's been in this organization a long time and had turned down our pitching coach job numerous times because he liked helping out the youngsters in the minors. I tend to agree with Tony's beliefs and that its going to be really hard for him to leave Chicago. Also, AJ has been great for this staff, but Coop has also been very good. He lets these guys relax and trust there stuff, which was a serious problem back when Nardi was running the show. If the money is truely outragous he would be a fool to turn it down. His Dad did 20 years twice, with two different companies. Put that Jankee money in the bank and he won't have to work another 20 years like his Dad did.

It lays out to be Garland's start, but if things blow up, don't forget about El Duque. Everyone is available for a game 7 so the fact that he is not stretched out isn't such a big deal, more important to set a good tone in the early innings.

Thats a great line from Sandberg.

Great thread. My take is AJ disproved Jimmy Dykes and did steal first base. The ump was in an awful fix, there is no way he could have seen if the ball was caught or bounced as he was blocked by the catcher and the mitt itself. He called the swinging strike because he saw it and I think he was hoping everyone would just go back to the dugouts. Eddings was in a terrible situation, how can you honestly call something you didn’t see? So he called nothing, AJ deked like he was going to the dugout and Josh Paul did the rest.
-
I've read what these umps have to go through to get to the Majors and I do not think Eddings will be intimidated in any way by the media outcry or the LA crowd. I respect the toughness they aquire working their way up. There are times when they are blind, times when they are just wrong, but I've never had a feeling they were cowed.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) haha i love it. rip on hi8is thread. really, its funny to me, i take no offense and know its all in good fun. rip away =P You have to tell the story about your Arizona trip, without that background some posters might not appreciate you. I was afraid you would kill yourself or somebody else but it all worked out. Didn't get on TV but at least you're still walking around (I think).

QUOTE(beck72 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 06:52 AM) MLB doesn't want to mess with its money schedule. The only off days are on Thursday and possibly Mon of next week. If they had pushed back the start of the ALCS to Wed, that would mean they'd have to play Wed-sunday w/ no days off. Seeing how Fri-Sun would have the most viewers, no way would MLB have an off day be on Friday night. So they stuck with Thursday being the travel/ off day. It sucks for either the yanks or angels, having to play 4 dyas straight. But it's great news for the Sox. I guess Commisioner FOX has ruled.

Ozzie is rubbing off on everybody. Don't take s*** from nobody!

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) I think some of us, in our personal vanity, are missing the forrest for the trees: bandwagoners are nothing but a good thing! Think about it: revenue increases so does payroll. If its one thing Reinsdorf does well, its keeping payroll and revenue strongly tied together. So payroll increases. This only help. Furthermore, bandwagon fans are like first time crack users: they are likely to get hooked. Ok, maybe like first time pot smokers. Still, if we can get 1/5 to keep following the sox year in and year out, we've increased our fanbase and again--this can only help. Besides, if there was no bandwagon, we'd have nothing to complain about except Ozzie's love affair with Marte--and how boring would that be Bandwagons roll both ways, if the Sox get down a game or two every single one of them will be gone.

Went camping this weekend and one in the group is a die hard Cub fan. He congratulated me on the Sox success and said he hoped they would get swept in the next round. I told him I finally found a cub fan I could admire, I hated ’03, prayed fervently for the Marlins, and rubbed the sh_t in his face after they choked. If he had tried to jump aboard I would have lost all respect for him. He’s a good guy but he was born to his team as I was to mine.

QUOTE(whitesoxgt @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) i remember that, i forgot bout it 2 . he was right bout the indians but the tigers...i dont know give them a year or 2 The way Jimmy Leyland talks he's gonna have to buy a program before each game. Edited to convert to english. Edited again, drunken people do not speak good english.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) Dmitri Young said this in the first week of the season. He thought it would be Tigers-Indians fighting for the top spot in the ALC. Got it! Alot of folks had no faith in the White Sox. They don't have big names or astounding stats, just play 9 innings of baseball every day.

QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) "Those Indians are gonna be a thorn in our side......"....... no comprendo, amigo

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) I remember when in 1 of my high school games last season that my coach brought me in with the bases loaded and 0 outs and I proceeded to strike out the side and pitch 4 shut out innings vs Morgan Park....yeah, El Duque's feat is 100000000000000 times greater. Props to the DUKE! Success like that at ANY level is to be congratualated! Those Morgan Park guys didn't just roll over and play dead. You are the only poster on the board who knows how El Duque feels right now. Great job by both of you.

this team is gonna put me in the hospital. God Bless them!

Bradford. Notice how Francona pulled him after the top of the order in chicago even though he looked OK. Now the bottom guys haven't seen him.

Why is everbody on the White Sox side so nervous? If we were down 2-0 facing Freddy Fu_king Garcia THEN we would have something to be nervous about.

If there is one thing I have learned about statistics its that past performance does not guarantee future results. True both in baseball and the stock market.

I watched Wells for the couple months he was in Chicago and you can get to this guy if you bunt him and pressure him. He weighed about 100 lbs less then and I don't think he's gotten any better. I'm not just talking about the grubs bunting on him when he had the bad back but I remember he had trouble with aggressive teams. He doesn't get to first well and he likes to throw the ball high out of zone when the bunt is shown, I've seen more than one go to the backstop. Push this guy, push him, push him. He had that one great game in Detroit but otherwise any team that small balled him and ran him owned him.
