QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 19, 2009 -> 10:19 AM) I would also be in favor of burning the series for folks for a nominal fee as long as you dont get me sued. I would be interested in that All you need is the DVDs right and then you use your own bands and stuff correct?

  3. QUOTE (BobDylan @ May 18, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) Never played the earlier Fallouts. This has nothing to do with what I'm about to say. Earlier I defended the VATS system (I think, and if I didn't, I would have.). I can excuse a clunky fighting system in the American/Euro RPG if they get the old school RPG elements right. Oblivion did it right up until they decided that AI would level up with you. There was an abundance of things to do on the side of the main quest. Fallout 3, there wasn't. The side quests did not pay off unless one got the body armor that they couldn't use until 40 gameplay hours later. There were no guilds to join, no special weapons to find that greatly benefited the player, no epic quests that were agonizingly boring (think NOTR in Final Fantasy 7). It was simply: get ammo, blow heads up, find pop, avoid the fast bastards with huge claws. A post apocalyptic world should've been about exploration (something the world they presented easily could have easily featured), but was not. Not one single f***ing time did I enter a cave or a dusty room with blown up desks and shelves and think, "Maybe I'll find something awesome in here." Nope, instead, twelve shotgun shells, a half broken rifle and maybe some drugs. Nothing else, ever. Pretty much. You were sure to find the same crap in every place you went. I didn't need 500 lbs of scrap metal.
  4. QUOTE (Nixon @ May 18, 2009 -> 12:53 PM) Most of the stuff I hated was story/world related. Still wondering why the hell Dad bothered leaving Project Purity/The Citadel/Rivet City, growing up sheltered in a dying vault is somehow preferable to the reasonably secure Rivet City and the main hub of the BOS? Really? What the f*** were the Mutants doing in Vault 87? What the hell was the point? Just to have Super Mutants in Fallout 3's east coast? How about that in Fallout 1 + 2 and grand total of TWO nuclear devices were set off and Fallout 3 has them dispensed like candy. A lot of the game just smacks of 'not getting it' and pretty much throwing out all the themes that made the first two Fallout games so interesting. /lore nerd rant off The shooting mechanics were also pretty boring. Mostly because 99% of enemies just ran right up to you and swatted at you til they died. FUN! Ramping up the difficulty didn't help either as it just made them bullet sponges + nerfed your weapons. FUN! Mercifully, you could bypass most combat by just hitting the 'win now' button, aka VATS. Games have advanced to the point that we're capable of portraying huge worlds in striking detail but the game play is still barely a step above "OW MY BALLS" (Gears o War/etc) ... I was pretty underwhelmed by Fallout, mostly because it was exactly what I expected. I am looking forward to Fallout: New Vegas since it's being built by the ex-Black Isle guys. Ive never even seen a Fallout game before this one, so I cant go into as much detail as you have. However, I agree about the shooting mechanics as they were poor.
  5. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 18, 2009 -> 10:12 AM) Pierce-AL Jeff-Rondo-Big Baby-Jeff Green might be a top 3 team. Except when KG-Pierce-Allen play together they are THE top team, as proven last season and prolly would have been again this season. They made the right move. Hell they were still pretty good even without KG.
  6. QUOTE (BobDylan @ May 18, 2009 -> 02:02 AM) I was a fan of the game (despite the fact that it failed on many different levels), but Japanese RPG's are so, so much better. Cant argue that.
  7. QUOTE (Nixon @ May 15, 2009 -> 12:39 PM) Would apply to that game too. Thank you. Fallout 3 is trash. If the actual fighting in the game was better, then it would be great. However, its not. And its not great. Sure, the story is cool and it looks cool. The fighting engine sucks hefty wang though and angered me.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 17, 2009 -> 11:24 PM) Super Cena again no wonder bye rates are in the s***ter! Yeah its garbage
  9. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 17, 2009 -> 10:24 PM) awesome to see Boston dethroned! Good Job Orlando! Shoulda been over a while ago Im not sold on the Cavs getting a free trip to the Finals just yet.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 13, 2009 -> 09:13 PM) Anyone ever see Green Street Houligans? I saw it the other day, and I thought it was great. Yeah I saw it a few months back, excellent movie. And btw, Star Trek IS lame as hell and I wont be watching this one either.
  13. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 12, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) no heart Gimme a break, winning on the road without Howard and Lee in Philly to clinch that series was enough to show me they have heart. I don't know what your definition of heart is, but having a huge lead and letting the other team back in it is more of laziness and not finishing than it is heart. If they didn't have any heart, they would have lost to Philadelphia.
  14. Orlando deserves to lose They have barely been able to keep sizable leads with little time remaining all playoffs. They need to pull their head out of their ass and finish games.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 8, 2009 -> 08:20 AM) They even fixed that in a line in the film. They say something to the effect of, "the bonding process has not completed". It's an easy fix, so i don't mind it. What they did with Yeah, the only thing I can think of is he wasn't ready to go yet that's why he looked the way he did.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 8, 2009 -> 11:04 PM) this is a great point. if you want to see the sox add to their league-leading tally of being shutout, then bring up the kiddies. Besides, It's the second week of May and we're four games back - I'm not convinced this team can't compete if they can get on track. This division is up for grabs. It doesn't really matter much to me if we lose 6-0 or 6-5, its a loss regardless. And im not saying we need to trade everyone and bring up a bunch of prospects now, sure we are 4 games back but its also between 4 teams and by your logic we really shouldn't count Cleveland out either. If it wasn't such a wide margin, ide be fine to let it play out. The fact that its close is only bad for us. I know im not the only one who doesn't want to see this team win between 80-85 games and make the wrong moves while falling short anyways.
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 8, 2009 -> 10:58 PM) How does dumping everyone help? Well Dye, Konerko, Jenks, Thornton, and Dotel doing good doesn't seem to be helping much right now either. Aside from keeping us near .500 and not completely in the cellar of MLB. Making the future brighter for this team is why I would like to see this stuff happen. Its going to need to be done eventually here anyways.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2009 -> 10:52 PM) If you do that, you better get top notch quality, can't-miss prospects in return. You better be SURE they are going to be stars, because nobody is going to trade good major league players off contending teams for those guys. We'll be getting prospects. I wouldn't go that far, I bet there would be a few teams who would trade a young MLB guy in a package for a Dye or Konerko and a chance at a World Series if they both continue to look like they are going to give you .300 30 100. And I know Konerko hasn't hit many HRs but if he keeps hitting like he is the track record is there anyways. And who cares if all we get are prospects, as long as they are good ones. This team is only getting older and slower by each game and its not like we are going to shell out big money for a superstar anyways. The more good prospects we have, the better the chance of some of them panning out. If we make those deals, we also clear a lot of salary and will be able to have a lot more room to fill out the roster through free agency. We would still have Quentin, Ramirez, Danks, MB, Floyd, Getz to go along with guys like Poreda, Beckham, Flowers, Viciedo, and are other young guys who look like they could contribute down the line. Add in what we get from those players being dealt and the salary relief I think that is exactly what we need. My team for the rest of this season as currently as I can get it would be 1. 2B Getz 2. SS Ramirez 3. LF Quentin 4. DH Thome 5. 1B Betemit 6. C Pierzynski 7. 3B Fields 8. RF Nix 9. CF Anderson OF Podsednik OF Wise IF/OF Lillibridge 3B/1B Phillips C Miller SP Buehrle SP Floyd SP Danks SP Colon SP Richard MR Broadway MR Carassco MR Contreras MR Whisler MR Link CL Linebrink Not good, im aware of this. If we are going to play like trash anyways, whats the difference. Stop lying to the fans already, we can clearly see this team is not that good and needs to be remade. I think they would get more support if they actually made an effort to rebuild this thing than doing nothing. If they are going to play Nix in RF, might as well see what hes got out there and see if thats going to be an option. As far as the MR goes, I am only going on what we could have now and not any other moves that could be made.
  19. Ide like to see.. Dye Konerko Jenks Thornton Dotel All traded before the deadline We aren't going to be spending money in the offseason, legit spending that is, so by trying to trade these guys for good pieces we can use next season and beyond would benefit us not only for the future but being able to let us actually spend some money in the offseason on pieces to fill out what we need to reach the budget anyways.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 6, 2009 -> 10:01 PM) Prepare to be disappointed then. link: Why would I be disappointed about that, I am pumped. With its own movie, they wouldn't make the same mistakes and I highly doubt he will look the same.
  21. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 6, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) Pathetic performance tonight from the Magic allowing Eddie House to go off like that. Sounds like we'll have Lee back for game 3 though, but I'm worried that we've played 6 real bad quarters in a row now. At least its headed to Orlando now

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 6, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) Not true. Yeah seriously What love interest? Cyclops was hardly a factor in this movie at all. There was NOTHING told to us, about him, aside from the fact that he was a mutant who didn't pay attention in class and had laser beam eyes. I thought it was a good movie aside from .
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 5, 2009 -> 08:36 AM) What questions? What position will they start at? They will both play ALOT this year. The only question around Smith was how the f*** is he so damn good with huge b**** tits. Andre Smith got suspended for the Sugar Bowl and dissapeared from the combine without telling anyone. Maualuga is only a two down linebacker in the NFL in the eyes of many teams obviously. Of course, he could prove wrong but well see.
