QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) I never did, and I'm also not the one whipping out my cock showing how much bigger of a fan I am than someone else. Get off your pedestal. What am I showing off? Because I got mad at doug for saying game over with 3+ left in the game?

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Sorry to inform you, but no one has the right to be telling people to shut the f*** up, regardless. Now, back to regularly scheduled programming for Illini nation. Hey you know what, I dont see the word f*** being added in there making a huge difference so why dont you tell that cerbaho guy the same s*** you just said
-
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) Oh God. Shut up already. Please dont personally attack me

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) HOLY s*** what a comeback!!! You gotta think they'll give it to Salim but he hasn't been their main man today. These threes by Head and now Williams are the clutchest clutch shots ever shot. See I told you to keep the faith Doug.. and this is faith..

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) TRU you're a bit out of line. You have a right to voice your opinion but not in a personal attack. As for the game, as it comes down to free throws. Arizona is usually pretty good at the line and that does not bode well for the Illini. Im not out of line, I didnt personally attack anyone.. I said shut the f*** up.. I didnt say shut the f*** up you dumbs***, I didnt call anyone names..

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) He isn't allowed to say his thoughts on the situation? What would the point of a message board be if you couldn't voice your opinion? Just chill out. because the games not over... and since I have my choice to say my opinion, I chose to say STFU..

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) gonna be tough, but not impossible......yet. exactly
-
QUOTE(silver and black @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) no... you have to see basically all the shots arizona misses, and no rebounds... while illini shoot perfect for now on... highly doubt i'll see it. alright well either way shut the f*** up and keep your negative attitude out the thread

QUOTE(silver and black @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) seasons done... 12 points in 3.46 left is pretty hard to do. nice faith you got there doug

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) Should probably go down to the wire...38-36 Illini at the half. They keep getting these crazy lay ups, like that one that just went in at the end of the half.. I think well come out firing again, keeping Salim on lock down.. Im happy with that first half, I expect the same next half

QUOTE(soxman35 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) you picked Louisville at the beginning i would have said that would be one of the worst picks they really have surprised me Why would you say that? Louisville got jobbed, they should at least be a 2 seed
-
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) That's being fairweather. Only showing up when they're good. A true fan is supporting the team, regardless the record and performance. I, like you, also hate people who are like that

QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Increasing payroll is not going to solve this by itself. I'm not even sure it would make a dent. Look at Magglio, for example - the entire time he was here, he was an All-Star calibre player and was ignored. As soon as the Sox decide not to pay him, they're labeled as letting a perennial All-Star leave, despite the knee injury and the reluctance of his agent to disclose everyhting or have Magglio inspected. There are preconceptions about the White Sox that are now kind of deeply ingrained. If the Cubs had acquired Colon, Wells, Everett, Alomar, Belle, etc. it would have been seen as HUGE moves by a team serious about making the playoffs. It's just the way things are, and the ONLY way for this to change is for the Sox to win A LOT and win consistently. Acquiring marquee players could help in this, but it's not the "be all, end all" and it SURE doesn't guarantee success - ask Texas, the Mets or the Orioles about that. even when Magglio was here the payroll was still in the high 70's If we had a $95 payroll we could have Maggs, Colon, and prolly a few other solid players plugged into this team..

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) Worked for the mets the past few years... How about spending wisely and winning? I don't believe the raise payroll=more attendance equation. Seems like your idea of a big splash is getting beltran or a-rod...I'm quite satisfied with getting Garcia... sweet, you must be satisfied with 2nd place too.. How come everyone has the same lame excuse "Well it works for ther Mets" take a look at the Yankees, or the Red Sox, or the Angels... not just a team that has a high payroll but cant get it done.. BTW, they have spent money terrible... Beltran and Pedro are the best big signings they have made in a while

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) With alot of help from the ref's Rex. Then they tried to make up for it at the end of the game, poorly done all around. A Nova player got all arm on Marvin Williams inside and no foul, then Felton was grabbed by Nardi and it was Felton's 5th foul somehow, very similar to Redick's grab on Jarret Jack. Then Jackie Manual is a foot away from Foye on a jumpshot and somehow it was a foul. Roy Williams put it nicely after the game saying "it was a very weird refereed game". Man that was not a travel at the end of the game, that was a horrible call they replayed it and the guy was like "1,2" and then he threw in a quick "3" when I didnt even see a third step I was like what the hell is that guy counting

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) i dont see him saying UNC would be the easier game, he was just making the point that Wisconsin matches up well against them which is obviously a plus for Wisconsin. just forget, you apparently dont see what im talking about.. -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) I never said UNC would not be a tougher match up. Just that they presented a different match up. So, I have no clue what you are talking about. SB your the one who was talking bout talent andf seeding and s*** after I said everyone thought Nova would be easier.. get your s*** straight -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Just because a team may not be as talented, or have a higher seed does not always mean that they will not be a tougher match up. Wisconsin has certain weaknesses that make some teams very hard for them to beat, even if they have more talent. UNC plays the type of game that the Wisconsin program is trained to beat. UNC is a fast pace, transition offense. Wisconsin is a half court team. Wisconsin will try and get UNC to play transition, Wisconsin will try and make UNC play half court. If Wisconsin can get UNC into half court, I think UNC will have trouble. Nova, Wisconsin would have just had to outplay, against UNC Wisconsin can try and get UNC to beat themselves. SB umm... UNC would be a tougher match up than Nova.. despite your theory -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) I am glad Wisconsin gets a shot at UNC, eventhough I think Villanova would of been a much easier game. haha, im pretty sure that everyone thought Nova would have been an easier game.. I hope Wisconsin wins -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Ok, I understand your point but I meant that Kenny is known for making the big move and the big splash, I just don't understand how you can say that's why the sox don't get media attention. what I was basically saying is if we can raise the payroll, then we would be able to raise attendance, which would get us more media coverage.. I like KW, this isnt about him being the GM
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) He's right though. Since Kenny has been the gm the sox are always the ones who make the big splash, I don't understand what you're getting at here. haha then I guess you wont understand... its pretty damn clear and what exactly is "Big Splash".. having Colon for a year? Wells for part of a year? Acquiring Everett twice in consecutive seasons? This isnt about KW, you guys brought that up yourself.. Im talking about payroll..
