  1. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 09:09 AM) I'm much happier seeing the Sox win 1-0 than 10-8. That said, we're going to need to get at least 12 wins and an ERA of less than 4.70 from both Contreras and El Duque if we're going to win the Central. This team doesn't have the power of the '00-'03 squads to be able to "play comeback" in the late innings. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's bulls*** and you know it. You don't need power to play comeback. If anything you need more contact to play comeback, and guess what, we have more contact hitters.
  2. There you go Illinois fans. They were interviewing an Illinois fan after the game at Joe's and right near the end some guy in the background yelled "GO WHITE SOX!!!" So, there you go. It's not the end of the world.
  3. QUOTE(Beastly @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) I felt the same way dude. Its going to be boring...home runs will be few and far between as well as rare. "White Sox baseball...deal with it." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is bulls*** and you know it. You must have seen how nasty Westbrook was today. I'm surprised we got one run off of him. Not every pitcher will look as sharp as Jake did today.
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) Those of us that don't go to illinois why do we care so much about this loss? ( Inside joke). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because you're a bunch of babies? Christ, Buerhle pitches a gem, the White Sox beat the 2005 AL Central Champ Powerhouse Cleveland Indians and everyone dies.

  6. lol Now time for White Sox baseball.
  7. Just got back from the game!!!! The crowd was all into Shingo when he took the first step from the bullpen. Gotta give props to Jake Westbrook man, he pitched a hell of a game. I'm not so sure Sabathia could have done any better. BUT, MARK BUEHRLE!!!!! THE f***ING MAN!!!! The way down on the ramp is one of the best parts of the experience. There are a lot of different chants and the tailgating today was great.
  8. MERRY OPENING DAY! Getting ready to go to the game soon.
  9. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 3, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) You remember last season? Mercy. Soxtalk and WSI both got f***ed up because people wanted to go online and type, "f***ING MARTE! f***ING KOCH!". :banghead <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LMAO that is classic. I'll be there screaming "f***ING POLITTE! f***ING MARTE!" instead of here though.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 3, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Ha, i just said that to wharris. I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight, I really can't wait for tomorrow. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Let's stay up all night and speculate!!!!!!!!! Woohooo! PS: It's gonna suck if we lose.

  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) Was it out of the park? Okay, thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That proves nothing. Stop getting your panties in a bunch over a muscled home run.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) I was right. Carlos Lee homers to LF off of Garland. 3-1 Brewers. Garland sucks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Shut up. That home run barely left the park. It was more like a muscled pop fly. That homer is all due to C Lee's strength.
  20. McPherson is starting in the minors.
  21. Good news that he'll fully recover. Neil Young and Rush: The only good things to ever come out of Canada.
  22. Good good good good good good good movie.
  23. News In a stunning development, Juan Gonzalez couldn't even make it to Opening Day before landing on the DL. The Indians placed the right fielder on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday because of his strained right hamstring and recalled Grady Sizemore to take his place on the roster. "The silver lining is we'll get to see Grady play on this club and get Juan back healthy and strong," Indians general manager Mark Shapiro told the Associated Press. "At this point we've committed to him, so if he's healthy and the hamstring is fine, he's coming back." Views Sizemore was understandably ticked off at being sent down in the first place. Now he'll have a chance to prove the Tribe can't do without him. We assume Sizemore went unpicked in a lot of leagues after Gonzalez was handed the right field job; if he's available in your league, he makes a solid pickup. For Juan Gone, this is his 11th trip to the DL in 14 seasons, and he has been limited to just over one season's worth of games in the last three years. Fantasy owners should know not to trust him any further than they can throw him.
  24. Apparently he is feeling a sharp pain in the same place as his torn meniscus.......... Or, Update: Ordonez may have to miss Opening Day because of a stomach problem believed to be the intestinal flu, the Detroit Free Press reports. Recommendation: The Tigers should know Saturday or Sunday whether Ordonez could play Monday against Kansas City. The problem is not considered serious or long-term.
  25. Ahhh thank you for making this the Opening Day Thread!!!!!!!!!
