QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 12:25 AM) Last undefeated BCS team, I'll at least give him consideration. I really want us to f*** up KU's season after we blew it against them two years ago. I think we'll give em at least a decent quarter. I'm hoping, pulling for more. Yeah, I've decided that Kansas isn't a top 10 team. However, they are the most consistent team in the country, by a lot. They still haven't had a big win, they've had mediocre wins in relatively hard places to play, that's about it. Still, they are the best in the country (or damn close) in penalties against and turnover margin. Multiple times in their close games, all they have needed to lose momentum is a big turnover. It's yet to happen. -

Blaine Gabbert, rated the 3rd best pro style QB by Rivals, #6 QB by ESPN, #4 QB by scout.com, committed to Mizzou today. He originally committed to Nebraska, but doesn't think Callahan is gonna be there so he is staying in state. He is supposed to have an absolute cannon. Hopefully he lives up to the hype and can step in for Daniel after he is gone. -

Mizzou with an closer than it should have been 14 point win over A&M. Undefeated home season. Onto the Kansas schools. I hate saying this, but come on Illini. Mizzou needs to move up. Oh and, hey, Northwestern is bowl eligible, but probably needs to keep the Tomahawk to get into a bowl. -
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 10:43 AM) I'm not as impressed with the writing...but I thought that about season 6 too. Agreed. I was very disappointed with this week's episode. There were 2 good bits: painting Turk's face like a basketball and Cox telling Barbie that he couldn't see her because she was standing sideways heh.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 4, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) About bowl eligibility..... Is it true that the Big Ten could have 10 bowl eligible teams this year? And the SEC could have 11?? How is that going to affect a team like Indiana since neither conference has near that many bowl tie-ins? The way it's been done in the past is the Big Ten tie-ins pick based on standings, etc. obviously and the leftover teams can be picked if another conference doesn't have enough eligible teams for their tie-ins. Basically, Indiana probably needs to win 7 or they need to get picked as a 6 win team over all the rest of the bowl eligible teams left over when all conference tie-ins are filled. -

Some Big 12 thoughts for the few that care here: The North is 8-8 vs. the South this year, with 8 games at home and 8 on the road. Colorado went 3-0 vs. the South (vs. OU, @ Baylor, @ Tech), but is 0-2 against the North. Texas is way overrated, their 3 conference wins have been over the 3 worst teams in the conference, and they barely beat Nebraska at home while everyone else has been slaughtering them. They should lose at Oklahoma State and could lose another game after that. Other than the top 3 (OU, Mizzou, Kansas) and the bottom 3 (Nebraska, Baylor, Iowa St), the 4-9 teams are interchangable. Sort of like the SEC minus being vastly overrated. Whoever wins the Big 12 has an extremely good shot at going to the title game. 3 teams are currently in the top 10 and if OU wins out to get to the Big 12 title game and Mizzou and Kansas don't lose until their matchup, the Big 12 champ will have a marquee win in the title game and a very good resume. I know it's asking quite a bit, but if it all sets up right it will be a mini playoff. Heck, of Ok State can go just 2-1 before meeting OU, that game could be the South title game at the end of the year. -

I knew Mizzou wouldn't cover today (-28.5) because they looked disinterested against Western Michigan and Illinois State. This is Mizzou's first game not against a top 25 team in 3 weeks (since the 2 non-con games I mentioned) so I was expecting a less than stellar performance. The defense disappointed me because they had been doing better. Either way, Mizzou is gonna move up to #9 in the polls as is, maybe higher with more upsets. That's a wow. Tech losing to Colorado sucks because for another week, another Mizzou win gets devalued. -

So everyone loves Matt Ryan, but does he get forgiven for still having 2 picks and a completion percentage below 50%? Overall a poor game, but everyone is raving about him. He was great at the end, but the 3 and 1/2 quarters of suckage needs to be mentioned. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 22, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) Not really, Missou had a lead on Oklahoma in Norman in the 4th quarter and just couldn't put it away. Missou would beat OU in Missou or on a neutral field. Especially if Temple is back. I agree, but Temple is no better than our other backs. -

QUOTE(farmteam @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 04:48 PM) But I agree -- with games against Ball State and Northwestern left, we should be bowling. Indiana should beat Ball State, but I find it funny that you both mentioned Northwestern as a game they should win. IU's 2 wins in the Big Ten are the 2 teams at the bottom of the standings and they lost by 25 at Michigan State, where Northwestern won. I'm just saying, you have no real reason to be confident about winning in Evanston. Not to say I expect the Cats to win that game (it's in the very winnable category), but c'mon guys, you are still Indiana football. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 05:21 PM) Anybody got a corner, closet, or basement I can go hide in for the rest of the year? Yeah....Mizzou is good. 41-10 should be a statement. Harrell must have nightmares about Mizzou's defense. That's 2 years in a row. Mizzou is better than most people know, but eventually they will find out unless they do the usual and lose a game they have no business losing. Today, they ran the ball well, which made the offense resemble Northwestern's more than Tech's. I luuuuvvv watching run-first spread offenses, it's the good combination of being able to score quickly and run out the clock when needed. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 10:50 PM) And Boston College may follow suit next Thursday, as they visit Blacksburg for a weeknight game. Arizona State plays Cal, at Oregon, at UCLA, USC the next 4 weeks, Kansas plays at Colorado and Texas A&M the next 2 weeks, and finishes with Missouri. And of course, Ohio State still has games at Penn State and at Michigan, while even Hawaii has to play Boise State and a revitalized Fresno State program. I know you are just listing the undefeateds, but did you just mention Kansas with national title implications? I actually think they are a legit top 25 team, which with their schedule so far is still debatable, it's way too early to talk Kansas going undefeated. They do have a cushy schedule though, no Texas or Oklahoma and they already beat Baylor. -

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Oct 14, 2007 -> 02:14 AM) 3) The SEC is so good as a whole. It's unreal. HA! That's funny. It's very overrated this year. Oh and for those of you who didn't see the game (which is probably most of you), Mizzou outgained Oklahoma and led in the 4th quarter in Norman. They had 4 turnovers and still scored 31 points. They are for real and can beat the Sooners despite what everyone thinks who didn't see the game. It sure was fun to see the OU fans think it was going to be an easy win for them and all of a sudden they were s***ting themselves and swearing at their defense. I'm proud of the way Mizzou played and as long and draining as the trip to smelly Norman was (seriously, it's terrible), I'd do it all over again. The people in Oklahoma weren't bad other than a few idiots, and their cockiness settled down once they realized they really had to work for a home game. Hopefully we can see them in San Antonio and beat them, I know they can do it. -

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 01:07 PM) He had 92 yards of offense vs. Missouri with 2 TDS on only 14 touches. He averaged 3 yards per carry and that includes a 25 yard TD. The other 10 carries netted 8 yards. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 01:36 PM) I don't think the Missouri game was really a good measure either. They were down most of the game and were forced to pass. That and they didn't really find out what kind of running game they had until the syracuse/indiana games. I just don't see where all the hype came from with Hart. He went from a decent back at Michigan to this unstoppable heisman force in one off season. Sorta like Heinne. Sorta like anyone from USC right now - it's all about the hype machine when it should really be about whats on the field. I'll buy the top argument, they should have given him the ball more in that game. However, Hart went from only being a decent back? He was a Heisman candidate before the year started and has had hype for a while. You don't just start at Michigan for 4 years based on hype. -

Hart was injured a bit or his numbers would probably be better. Stop the Mendenhall for Heisman talk. It's 5 games in and the guy won't be in the top 10. Right now he is riding on destroying Wisconsin, nice job. He's a good back. However, he got shut down by Penn St. and Missouri and destroyed Western, Indiana, and Syracuse. He will need to do what he did against Wisconsin against another good team before you can throw his name around in the same category as Mike Hart.
