  1. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 11:47 AM) There is a school of thought that that is good. The Sox are a team who wants to try to establish fan bases away from home. Other teams (Cubs, Red Sox) prefer to have them closer to home. I can see it either way. Not to mention it's impossible to find a AA, high A, or rookie ball team close to the Chicago area.
  2. Collaro in the AFL would be funny. He'd probably light the league up with homers, but have even more strikeouts than during the regular season.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 22, 2007 -> 09:05 AM) That is what was happening to me. I cleaned my cache and have never had a problem since. Yeah, that doesn't work.
  4. I'm watching the US U-17 play Tunisia in the U-17 World Cup. Tunisia just got awarded their 2nd penalty of the first half. The 2nd one was seriously one of the crappier calls ever. It was probably a foul, but it was unintentional and the player was in the back corner of the box. He was so far from a scoring position that it's not even funny. Let the players decide it, not your f***ing whistle ass. I hope this ref never gets to ref another game, what a freaking crime.

  6. Not to argue your point, but Josh Hamilton is a hitter and he's been a stud this year when healthy.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) Enjoy the rear end widening in the clink, #7. Good riddance too, hopefully he never plays in the NFL again. Vick is pretty freaking big, not sure who is going to hold him down...It's not like he's going to a maximum security place where the guys that could take him would be.
  8. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 8, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) A Salary Cap In Baseball: Why It's Needed And How to Do It I did a research paper on that my junior year of high school. 12. The issue everyone is forgetting is that these guys are free agents a year or two after they enter their primes so it's not like you are locking up an ace. You maybe get a 2 year rental of a 2-3 if you don't pay mega bucks later. Still, these draft picks are making more than they are worth. MLB really needs to rework the draft. The worst teams don't get the best prospects.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 10:50 PM) Sounds like everyone but Wieters has signed. He signed as well. Wieters and Moustakas sounded like the biggest question marks, but both ended up signing. It was interesting to see how the deadline worked. Usually it's only 1 or 2 Boras clients that take it to the last week, but there were a lot of guys still up to be signed.
  14. QUOTE(easyw @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 10:14 PM) sorry, dude. you can keep him. The search function on this site ain't worth Sh** All the AAPs are posted in the thread at the top.

  16. The deadline is 10:59 central tonight to sign draft picks. The Sox have 10th rounder Brian Guinn, HS SS, and 11th rounder Jordan Kendall, JC OF, left unsigned among the higher picks. It doesn't seem likely the Sox will go over the slotted amount. As for the rest of the league, David Price signed for a 6-year big league deal just recently and there are still five first round picks unsigned. They are 2 (Mike Moustakas, Royals) and 3 (Josh Vitters, Cubs) overall; No. 5 pick Matt Wieters (Orioles), No. 9 (Jarrod Parker, Diamondbacks), and 12 (Matt Dominguez, Marlins).
  17. Greasy, I cleared out my cache to simply clean up and suddenly it keeps logging me out. It was working fine before. Every time I turn my computer on it makes me log in, but if I open up firefox again from sleep it will have me logged in.
  18. Anyone know why Embree is closing instead of Street for Oakland this year?
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 10:02 PM) Anybody know if Freddy Adu has played for Benifica (sp?) yet? I know their club had a CL game today, I was wondering if he saw any time. He came on in the 38th minute. Here's the best match report I could find in regards to Adu, but it doesn't mention much about him.

  21. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) No, they have real grinders on that team, not glass boy wannabees. Erstad is a has been.
  22. It's funny because a lot of people go crazy over paying a player 7 million over what a player is worth over the life of their deal. The difference is this guy apparently. Here's to hoping he's Joe Borchard.
  23. Welcome to the Black Parade?! Jason, you are a queer.
