QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 02:06 AM) our spread offense would easily destroy michigan. Yeah and Mike Hart would run for 270+ yards. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 05:37 PM) How long til Mizzou gets Pinkel'd? Sadly, I could still see them losing 4 games without a major upset. I think they will lose @OU, they matchup poorly with A&M, and I've feared the games at K-State and Colorado more than the Nebraska game all year. I'd be pissed if they lost 4 games, but on paper each game individually wouldn't surprise me. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 07:58 PM) he's done alright this year. I just wish he'd develop an I-form. He does make some really weird decisions on gamedays Yeah, no s***. Our goalline offense is a joke. There is no reason they shouldn't be able to pound it under center from inside the 5. So I was bored and decided to make a poll based on who I think would win head-to-head. In other words, I wouldn't vote this way because this is a dumb way to vote IMO, but it might create some good discussion. 1. LSU 2. USC 3. OU 4. Ohio St. 5. Cal 6. Florida 7. Oregon 8. South Florida 9. BC 10. Michigan 11. Virginia Tech 12. West Virginia 13. Florida St. 14. Arizona St. 15. Wisconsin 16. Mizzou 17. Cincy 18. South Carolina 19. Auburn 20. Kentucky 21. Illinois 22. Kansas 23. Texas 24. Tennessee 25. Georgia I honestly think Florida is still good enough to beat the top teams on occasion and beat the rest of the ranked teams most of the time. Michigan at 10 is probably a bit ridiculous, but Oregon is very good and Appy St. is not going to happen very often. I'm not completely sure about where I put Va. Tech and Arizona St. I like Florida State a lot. Their opening loss to Clemson was going to happen because the Tigers are at least capable of beating good teams (even if they have struggled since) and that crowd gave them the win. I thought about putting Auburn a couple spots higher, but I'm not sure about them yet. Another quality win and I'd probably move them near my top 10. Illinois is low because I think they are the same team as Wisconsin, but with less experience. I think if they had played in Madison the result would have been flipped. Looking at it now, I don't like how much difference I have between Wisky and U of I, they should be right next to each other probably. -

11th is disappointing, but only because it means Mizzou has to win in Norman to be a top 10 team. The game is officially where Gameday is going and I'm trying to get tickets, that would be sick. -

f*** you Stanford for stealing any spotlight Missouri might have. We skullf***ed Nebraska (yes, I like that term heads and really wanted to use that statement) and since it was such a bad game no one really cares. It will be interesting to see what they do with Mizzou in the polls considering that Illinois win keeps looking better. -

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 12:03 PM) I'm convinced SC deserves to be about #15 this year so far. But what can you do when teams keep losing agead of you? And BTW, not sure why you think Florida is the almighty, end all 1 loss team....who ISN'T overrated so far then hmm? Georgia is a solid team, Kentucky wasn't a #8 team, most people know that as well. So after SC beats Florida, is that gonna be "an overrated Florida team" too? I'll agree with the Cocks at 15 so I don't know what fight you are trying to pick. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 09:09 AM) I actually think SC is a pretty solid team, UK was/is overrated, no doubt about that. There's a big difference between being a pretty solid team and a top 10 team, which So. Car. will be in the next polls. The SEC is probably still the best conference in the country, but it's so overrated this year it's a joke. Let's just call South Carolina #10 for now for the purpose of my argument. There are 3 top 10 teams with a loss. They are OU, Florida, and South Carolina. Which one of these is not like the others? South Carolina beat an also overrated Georgia team by 4 points and beat a very overrated Kentucky team handily while losing to LSU handily. With the rankings so bad this year it's not surprising that to see several top 15 teams go down in a week. -

After beating the most overrated team in the country relatively handily, South Carolina will become the most overrated team in the country in the next polls. Even Steve Spurrier would tell you ha. -

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 01:14 PM) And I really don't think anyone from Charlotte will make it either. They might still like Sweeney and Broadway has a shot.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) The Sox would have to find another player of similar status. A busted prospect close to the Majors or in the Majors who might succeed with a change of scenery. Gavin Floyd was a similar case, though even he had more value than Anderson has now. That would be the best way to do it though. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) The Sox are sick of Anderson and they will probably look at moving him, but they won't move him for nothing. They will move him for another highly touted player that has busted a bit (both teams will essentially be counting on a change of scenario helping rejuvanate each players career). QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) I wouldn't complain at all if that was the case, I just hope we can find something of quality in that bust. I'd take a Gavin Floyd level guy any day, for example. Is there an echo?

QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 11:10 PM) I just want to declare... Troy Tulowitzki is my Favorite non-White Sox player. That is all. I've been saying that since like May.

Hoffman blew the Saturday game and now this. He's blown some games in big spotlights lately if you want to count the All Star game.

Holy s***. I keep saying that to myself.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 10:19 PM) Also, if Blum gets another chance to hit... game over. Yeah, rookie mistake by the manager to bunt him last time up. He's gotta know better than that.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 11:34 PM) They are the 3rd best team Illinois plays in the league, besides Ohio State and Michigan. The exposition of the fraud that is Wisconsin (the level of luck they've had so far is incredible) begins on Saturday. As for part 2 of that....if Colorado can beat OU and Auburn can win at Florida, I think yes an undefeated Kentucky that beat Louisville when it was #9 and won at Arkansas, plus has the Heisman leader, deserves a better ranking. Does it matter what Louisville was ranked when they lost to Kentucky? Louisville barely beat Middle Tenn. St. and lost to Syracuse. They aren't the #9 team in the country, nor close so stating their rank at that time is useless. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) The North might actually be on its way back, but there's still some glaring issues. Missouri - Gary Pinkel. Kansas - Haven't played anyone tougher than my high school this year, will get a nice test against K-State. Kansas State - When Prince isn't busy making his assistant coaches run or scaring off players, he's done a nice job to dig out of the hole Snyder dug the team into. Nebraska - Played worse each game this year. Colorado - They've bought into Hawkins and could be North champs at the end of the year if the Oklahoma game is a true indicator ISU - lacking seriously in talent, but ahead of where'd they'd be with McCarney I'm not sold on Colorado. Their 2 losses are starting to look better, but I don't see them as much more than a 7 win team. I'd even be a little surprised if they got to 7 wins. As for the Illinois-Wisconsin argument... U of I is talented, but doesn't have a passing game with Juice is in. Wisconsin hasn't looked good, but to have them as an underdog is absurd. Illinois' d didn't look spectacular against Mizzou, but come to think of it Mizzou's offense appeared to have their worst day. Some of that credit has to go to the opposing d. They stopped the run very well, but their pass d was non existent. Wisconsin is a ballclub with a lot of returning starters that isn't going to fold in a close game, that's as much a factor as luck has claimed to be. Also, I still don't think Penn State is the 3rd best team in the Big Ten. I don't see how you can't rate Wisconsin ahead of them because Penn State hasn't beaten a team of value and has lost to 2 unranked teams. Ohio St, Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, and Illinois all should be ahead of Penn State. Well, I could see putting PSU on par with MSU, but even then that's far from 3rd. -
A little late because he just left Tulo at 3rd, but to tie the game at 5 Holliday walked up with Tulo on 2nd. The crowd was chanting "MVP!" and on the first pitch he ropes a single. First of all, how badass is it to hear a packed, rocking crowd screaming MVP for you. Second of all, to deliver (on the first pitch!) and send the crowd into delirium? Holy s***, what a pimp.

QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 08:05 PM) Andersons trade value is so low that I would rather hold onto him since he still has the potential to become a starter in the future. Why trade him just to trade him? The deal in return would most likely be crap. The Sox would have to find another player of similar status. A busted prospect close to the Majors or in the Majors who might succeed with a change of scenery. Gavin Floyd was a similar case, though even he had more value than Anderson has now. That would be the best way to do it though.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 09:13 AM) DLS, Carter and Miranda will be on there, I'd bet. I don't think Shelby will make it, though he is still a prospect worth keeping an eye on. Miranda still has a lot to prove. I don't think he is super toolsy so he won't make a list like this, plus his .282 average and .349 slugging are far from impressive. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 01:53 AM) Despite their 2 losses, I still think Penn State is a superior team to Wisconsin, just simply haven't had the blind luck the men in red have so far. Also, people will talk, but the fact that Illinois could beat a very good Penn State team today despite not playing their best ball AT ALL is a good sign if anything to me. Penn State is not a very good team, stop it. I made my own top 25 which was more of a prediction of the AP Poll than my actual rankings and I can't believe they put Kentucky ahead of Florida and Oklahoma. Does anyone in their right mind actually think Kentucky can beat those teams even 4 times out of 10? Also, South Florida should probably be #5 ahead of Wisconsin. With Kentucky, Boston College, and Wisconsin in the top 10 don't be too surprised to see another week like this down the road. -

Kirk Herbstreit follows up his Penn State at #5 from two weeks ago with putting Oregon at #5 after losing. South Florida deserves to be ahead of Wisconsin at #5 right now. Auburn's win over Florida gives South Florida 2 really good wins. -

Way to go Big 12 North. The only remaining undefeated teams in the Big 12 are Missouri and Kansas. Granted, they are also the only two teams not to play a Big 12 game, but that's still not something you can say all that often. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 03:54 PM) Big 12 is wide open now. Here comes Baylor. And now Texas is losing. In my dream world Texas loses and Mizzou beats Nebraska next week to become the highest ranked team in the Big 12. Back to reality, the winner of the Red River Shootout will be top ten even if they both lose this week.
