Draft position...

Right now KC, Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Florida, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Houston all have worse or as bad as a record as the White Sox. We really need a loss and some help tomorrow. If the Astros and Pirates win tomorrow, and we lose, we will be tied with Cincinatti for the 7th worse record in baseball. So, we will hopefully get the 7th overall pick.

What a bummer... hopefully Smoak would still be around by the time we pick, but I doubt it.

The draft is about ponying up the dough to get that game-changer on your roster. In recent years, it seems like teams have drafted inferior talent because they were afraid to give that crazy signing bonus. Let's hope Jerry and KW will be willing to pony up to bring in that guy.

Draft position means nothing. KW will select Jordan Danks. The minute this team left the top 3 picks, he has the freedom to go after another one of his guys. He drafted him before, and he will waste( I mean use a draft pick) a pick on him. We will get a top 60 player in the 10th spot.

Unfortunately, I think this is becoming a likely scenario.

It's a shame college baseball doesn't get the pub that college basketball and football do. It's easy for people like greg to say "f*** the draft" when more than likely he has no idea who's gonna be in it in the first place, or who's good.

greg, you know who Lebron James is, right? What if there was a HS or College kid projected to be as good at baseball as Lebron was projected to be in basketball. Would you rather see your team win meaningless games, or would you rather them lose so you could have a chance at a once in a generation talent?

You wouldn't by chance be talking about Pedro Alvarez, would you?

There's a reason it doesn't get the pub.
