Your best (and worst) moments as a fan

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 22, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) The suicide squeeze by Carlos Guillen caps off a sweep by Seattle of the Sox in 2000. It's the last time sports made me cry, to this day. Same here. NU over Michigan in 2000 was sweet. I remember where I was when I saw it, at a restaurant that had the game on. Several people cheered when they won. Mizzou over Nebraska this year. It turned out to not be that big of a win, but the atmosphere was insane and one of my best friends from home visited for the game (he goes to Nebraska) so that was super sweet. Mizzou taking the lead in the 4th quarter in Norman this year. Yeah, it sounds lame, but since I was there it was really cool. I went into the game thinking I'd be satisfied by a lead in the 2nd half and would go crazy if they led in the 4th. They led in the 4th and I was there. This again is more about the atmosphere than the actual game itself. OU was incredible (minus the lack of pretty girls). Jordan's flu game is definitely at the top of the list. I remember where I was and my reaction to Paxson's 3 even though I was barely 6. I ran through the halls of my dorm after the White Sox won the World Series. That was ridiculous. As for the bad, 1996 Rose Bowl. Stupid Keyshawn Johnson. -

QUOTE(farmteam @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 03:41 AM) I'd agree with Greasy -- the feeling on campus is that Illinois has pretty much become a rivalry game. Makes more sense than Kentucky being a rival. -
Not a big fan of Shelby personally. Hopefully you guys are right.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 02:38 AM) I knew Misery would lose tonight, classic overlooked game. If they were overlooking it, they would have to be favored in the first place. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 17, 2008 -> 12:05 AM) Could you find video of the FSU player swinging at Paulus? I can give you a hint, you won't find any. They showed the replay several times and Reid acted like he was going to and then held back at the last second. Yeah, that's why he got a T. Don't care to defend Paulus, just don't defend the FSU guy. -

Alright fine, not going to defend Paulus because I hate him. Just saying the FSU guy did more wrong in my mind. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) LOL at Duke. Paulus swings at FSU player, falls on the ground and starts kicking at people, then fakes like he got hit in the face and an FSU player gets a technical. It just doesn't get any better. Paulus swung going for the ball. He didn't do anything wrong. The FSU thug (shocker there, a thug at FSU) swung at him while he was down and the play was over. Nice blinders. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 03:30 AM) Dead wrong, a KU win gets you an awesome boost to your resume. Iowa State should be a given win, sorry heads. They are going to need some wins on the road because their resume is going to be bubble at best. They are already 0-3 on the road and if they can't beat Iowa State I don't see this team getting more than 2 wins on the road in the Big 12. I'd hate to bring a 2-9 road record to a bubble resume, that's going to knock you out immediately. -

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 05:31 PM) Dont forget the ISU game is a trap game for Missery, they play KU on saturday. Yeah, Mizzou is losing that game. I say that more so because they've sucked on the road so far than the fact that Kansas is the following game. I think this Iowa State trip is a bigger game for this team than the Kansas game. -

No way Michigan wins 5 Big Ten games, no way. -
I like the Eldred pick up. He has some talent and even had a decent start in the Majors. Maybe they can fix something if they get lucky.

If that's the real story I'm gonna be f***ing pissed.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) Who has said that IU is a great team? It certainly has not been me. I don't recall greasy stating that. What I have said, and I still stand by it, is that IU CAN BE a great team. Today is the first game this season where they have had a full squad available to them. It will take time for them to gel and their best basketball SHOULD be ahead of them. They do have the pieces necessary to be a very good team, if not a great one. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen. I believe their ranking implies many believe they are a great team, regardless of whether anyone here said it. Personally, I'm leaning away from this team after some lackluster showings recently. Like Michigan State they will suffer (but win more) because the Big Ten is so bad. I think it will cost them in the tourney. As it stands Indiana looks like a fringe Sweet 16 team, which would be a great step for Indiana basketball. Indiana has not performed like an elite program in recent years and need this season (being Gordon's only) to be a good one to get back there. -

Looks like Missouri had a lucky shooting day today in Columbia to beat Texas. They'll probably follow it up with a loss at Iowa State. -

Bulls are 0-3 in close games under Boylan and they should have won all 3. This is a fireable offense as far as I'm concerned. If he's fun to play for, but can't coach I might as well coach the Bulls.

Yeah, here are some of the early preseason rankings I've found. Rivals has USC #1, Georgia #2. Stewart Mandel of SI has Georgia 1, OSU 2. -

Final polls are out. AP Poll and Coaches' Poll Very pleased to see Mizzou top 5 in both polls. Surprised to see Florida a few spots ahead of Michigan considering they have the same record and Michigan won head to head. Weird to see Texas finish in the top 10 after the way they played this year. Hard to argue with it though, maybe BC. I think I already put too much thought into the postseason poll. Let's get next year started. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 6, 2008 -> 04:09 PM) You think the Horns are ready for "40 minutes of something or other"? I have no idea what to expect out of the Huskers this year. Missouri sucks this year. They should have beaten Michigan State, but since then they have looked poor against any decent team. Nebraska is weird because they have good wins over Oregon and Arizona State, but lost their only 2 road games to Creighton and Western Kentucky. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 6, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) Next Saturday... Texas Tech @ Oklahoma State - CBS Texas @ Missouri Colorado @ Texas A&M Iowa State @ Baylor - ESPN Classic Kansas State @ Oklahoma Kansas @ Nebraska - ESPN The Big 12 is gonna be mighty fun to watch this year. Hell, 3 games on national tv to boot. Jimbo can find out who Wesley Johnson is, and I can see what the f*** is the deal with the Jayhawks. Nebraska isn't that bad this year and Baylor is going to beat Iowa State. I think Baylor is a tournament team.
