QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 05:21 PM) Now that he's leaving I can focus all of my hate onto Mike and Mike in the morning... You might be bazzaro me. -
McCulloch Named Sox Prospect of June Kyle McCulloch, the White Sox first round pick in 2006, has been named the FutureSox Prospect of the Month for June. He went 4-0 in five starts with a 1.82 ERA. In 34.2 innings of work he struck out 28 while walking seven and allowing 24 hits. Opponents hit just .190 off him. more... I meant to post this yesterday, but forgot. A few guys were just on fire this month and we had a tough time deciding who would win.

DLS pitched in the Futures Game today. He struck out Jacoby Ellsbury (AAA currently, played a few games in the bigs this year as well) on 3 pitches, then gave up a no doubter to Justin Upton (AA) on a 93 MPH fastball. After that he appeared a little rattled and hit Evan Longoria (AAA). He got Ian Stewart to fly out (AAA), gave up a single to Steven Pearce (AA), and struck out Brent Lillibridge (AAA). His fastball sat in the mid 90s, topping out at 96, and had solid movement. He had a nice slurve (that's what I'm calling it at least), but only threw 2 pitches. He will need a third pitch to be a starter, but that's far from out of the question. He pounded the strike zone, almost throwing too many strikes (a la BMac). I put the level of the guys he faced in parentheses because he looked like he should be pitching to those hitters who are top prospects in AA and AAA while he is still in Low A. There doesn't seem to be any reason to keep him there. Let him go to Winston-Salem and see what happens.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) McCulloch is healthy but he left the game due to field conditions or something like that. The box score says a 3:14 delay so, yeah, he's not hurt. I noticed Adam Bowling in that Great Falls box score. 5 K in 3 IP. On the year he now has 14 Ks to just 2 walks in 8 innings. I searched his name and found that he was an undrafted free agent out of Georgia State. He had just 46 K in 58.1 IP out of the pen, but just a 2.93 ERA. I found this on his bio: "Did not pitch due to suffering a season-ending injury during the off-season prior to the start of the season...Was granted medical hardship status." So he was a 5th year senior this season and is already 23. Those numbers and a 6'4" 215 pound body could get him somewhere though. Once I saw he was 23 I just about wrote him off, but I figured I should at least add this info lol. Maybe the Sox taught him a new pitch or something. Nice to see Salvador Sanchez raking in Great Falls, but he better do a lot more than that before I give him a shot again. Bristol lost 5-1

Mark Buehrle Agrees to 4-yr, 56 mil with escalator clause

I'm slightly surprised. Way to go Sox, way to go Kenny. So the Sox won't suck ass for the next few years. -
DLS is supposed to pitch at some point, but I haven't paid too much attention to stuff like that.
-
Sounds like he doesn't use his curve much. That explains why he doesn't give up many HRs. Less hangers and a good changeup is a great thing to have. I definitely like what I read.

2-1 win for the US. Jozy Altidore (better than Adu and younger by 5 months) scored both goals today. The US team finished group play 2-0-1 with a tie against South Korea and a 6-1 pounding of Poland. This is a great group of young players for the US. This group of US players beat Brazil before at the 2005 Milk Cup (yes I'm a soccer nut), which is a 19 and under competition. The future might be bright for US soccer down the road. Though the MNT B team got spanked in the Copa America.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 04:00 PM) Should I be shocked that team Bristol faced yesterday, the Twins rookie affiliate, is 12-1? Or that the White Sox Dominican summer team is 6-20? Or the second DSL team of the White Sox is 8-17? Elizabethton Twins are the 2nd stop for the Twins' system. That team better dominate.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 08:12 PM) Holy snikies....gotta love the FutureSox reference from the article Oh snap I missed that. We're f***ing cool.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 04:58 PM) Oops - I figured I'd miss someone who is gone. I missed the Cunningham move - where did he go? And what did I miss about Richar? Cunningham for Richar.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 08:49 AM) I looked around and couldn't find anything on that. The Great Falls Tribune website search tool doesn't seem to work very well, and a general web search didn't turn anything up. But if someone else can find something, I'd like to see it too! He is on Bristol so looking in the Great Falls paper won't work heh. Try tricities.com. It looks like they are pretty good about doing game recaps. This was a cool link, interesting story, but didn't mention velocity

10 K, 2 BB, 2 hits from Zazueta? Wow

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 01:17 AM) Beckett, Escobar, Bonderman and Halladay as well. But apparently a pitcher's W/L record is all that matters. Tell that to Chris Young. I don't know how anyone can rationalize not having him in.
-
Quiz time. Who has the lowest ERA: C.C. Sabathia, Justin Verlander, or Jon Garland?
-
I guess no one expected Buehrle or Garland to make it but they are both having stud years.
-
I was at the game and was very happy to see the Sox win with me there. Danks was great. It was great to see. It's a shame the offense sucks so badly, but they won so I can't complain for tonight.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 09:15 PM) The Sox have been stingy with merit-based promotions this season. It's all been organizational moves. Yeah, I don't think there has been one yet. Bourgeois is the closest thing, but Charlotte had an opening.
