  1. His on-base is so high because he stands on the plate almost literally. It's bulls*** to be honest. I'm just going to say it right now that this is one guy I will not be rooting for due to bitterness.
  2. The highest batting average in today's White Sox lineup is Luis Terrero's .250 and Jose Bautista hit a leadoff HR...
  3. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) Nothing this crappy organization does shocks me. Aardsma was recalled even though his era is +6 at Charlotte. What was the point of sending him down? He stunk in Chicago...was sent down for that....then he stunk at Charlotte....and was recalled. Yea, OK...Im so shocked this team is where it is. Day got injured and Aardsma was the best option on the 40 man roster, which is full. Unless you want Vasquez up here, which is possible but might be a bit soon, he was the best option.
  4. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) no getz in the bham lineup...could he be getting a callup? or injured? just a day off? anyone know? He hasn't played since May 20 because of injury.
  5. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) seriously? I swore he was a CF, guess I was wrong. Still a very good hitting prospect, nonetheless, but does lessen his value somewhat. I think he played it a bit in Bristol, but he barely played it in Kanny.
  6. DeSalvo and Floyd duel, but Knights fall 3-2 Pods 1-3, R, BB, SB Sweeney 2-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI, K Anderson 0-3, 2 K Floyd 7 IP, 2 R, 7 K, 2 BB, 3 hits Sisco 2 IP, 1 R, 1 K, 4 BB, 1 hit Barons lost 3-2 in 16 freaking innings Gio 6 IP, 2 R, 6 K, 2 BB, 4 hits Collaro 2-7, solo HR, 2 K Nanita 2-6, 2B, K Hogs downed 6-1 Zaleski 5 IP, 3 R Richard 1 IP, 2 H out of the pen (before you guys speculate too much the All-Star break starts Monday and the pen appeared a bit used so I'm going to assume this was a one time thing) Kanny scored 19 runs Carter 4-5, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R, BB, K Allen 5-6, 2B, 2 RBI, 4 R, SB Gartrell 3-4, HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, K Gomes 3-4, 4 RBI Rasner 5 IP, 3 R Brooks 3 IP, 1 R (0 ER), 3 K, 2 hits
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) He drew a walk? No, I was just referring to him overall as a guy that will draw walks.
  8. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 08:16 PM) well Aaron Cunningham is a four-tool player who is what you would call a grinder. Numbers-wise and developemental-wise Cunningham is the better player, so that part may look bad. But KW has only been burned by one trade really in his tenure, so you have to give him the benefit of the doubt here. But Cunningham was one of my favs and I think this one bites us. Cunningham is a 20/20 CF who plays good D and Richar is a solid looking 2B. Cunningham hasn't played CF all year.
  9. Way to be AGon. I really like him. Gotta like that he draws a walk and that was damn good contact on that double.
  10. Fair, I hadn't checked milb's rosters in a few days. BA and others will update the guys we signed eventually and rookie ball starts Tuesday anyway. According to BA Hunt, Maxwell, Mabee, Albritton, and Oney Guillen (are you serious?) have signed. Nathan Jones (5th rounder) is on the Bristol roster, but their roster is severely lacking new draft picks so I'm not sure that is updated. I see 3 07 draftees on Bristol which is so far below the norm.
  11. I don't believe Hunt and Maxwell have officially signed, thus the article saying 'expected to play for Great Falls'. Here is FutureSox's list that will be updated: Link
  12. Damn, I missed Fields' HR but from the WGN replay he knew it pretty quickly. Good times. Average up to an almost respectable .242. C'mon Josh, be a bright spot this season.
  13. That contact by Owens on that grounder was embarrassing.
  14. I said hand not arm! He looks like Luke Skywalker there. A mechanical arm could be nasty.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) He was scheduled to make a start, and didn't. Fair, you can't blame your audience for assuming the worst though.
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) That won't stop Oz from putting him in left field. Leftfield is fine, but when one organization moves him to second because he was having problems with his footwork I wouldn't go and move him back. FutureSox article
  17. Richar has been playing 2B primarily this year. He's not a SS anymore.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) The dude sounds like he has a ton of upside. A 4 or 5 tool player in the middle infield? Sounds good to me. Why would the Diamondbacks want another OF prospect? It seems like they have a lot. Then again it seems like they have a lot of middle infielders that they converted to OFers, so I don't know. Callaspo and Drew are blocking him so he wasn't going to start anytime in the infield. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) I don't hate the move, don't necessarily love it. I do think it is good to get a strenght in the system. I also know I'm one of the few that doesn't ever see Cunningham developing into an all star (however, I can see him developing into an Aaron Rowand type of role player). You'll like what I put in my FS writeup about Aaron. It basically said the same thing as you. I didn't mention Rowand, but implied it on the offensive side. I agree with you pretty much on the head, which is a little rare. I see it as the Sox getting a position of need and a guy closer to the Majors with a comparable upside. Cunningham might be better on D and that could be the difference, but Richar has more speed despite the lack of SB numbers. I think it's a pretty even trade.
  19. Gio's left hand cut off in accident Or not..."The series continues Saturday night, as Huntsville will send southpaw Steve Hammond to the hill against Barons' left-hander Gio Gonzalez." Christ people, relax. You gotta stop believing Heads' rumors. He has a bad track record this year. Oh, and if anyone replies in this thread about Gio's hand being cut off and means it I'm banning you for being retarded (please someone...be stupid).
  20. Good to see Carter back in action. Wing is having a great year, good story. McCulloch seems to finally be succeeding in high A. That's 8 straight starts of 6 or more innings and 3 or fewer earned runs. During that stretch he has a 2.52 ERA and a WHIP of 1.26.
  21. Hogs won 7-6 in 10 Cunningham 2-5, 2 R Schnurstein 2-4, 2B, solo HR, 3 R, BB R Rod 5 IP, 5 R Kanny forgot they had a game today Gartrell 2-4 Gomes 1-2, 2 BB Zazueta 3.1 IP, 5 R (3 ER)
  22. Bham lost 3-2 Lucy 2-3, 2B, RBI, R Russell 6.1 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 3 K, 1 BB, 8 hits Just 4 hits for the Barons (Valido had the other 2) W-S lost 8-4 Cunningham 0-2, 3 BB, R, 2 SB, K Richard 3.1 IP, 7 R (4 ER) Kanny won 4-3 Gartrell 2-3, 3B, 3 R, K Faustino 5 IP, 2 R, 5 K, 1 BB, 7 hits
