The Rally Crede actually defeated Santa Anna while Sam Houston cried in the corner!

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Every other game the blimp and their sponsors don't pay several million $$'s to show overhead shots. If the Stros want it closed.. let them pay the $$ back - that's what this is all about - and not expect the players, the Sox or MLB to reduce their take. I agree to let the astros decide for themselves how they want their roof, but... Why have a RETRACTABLE roof, if you always want it closed on nice nights. Permanently seal it, then. BTW, this didn't effect the Diamondbacks in 2001 when they had to keep their roof opened.

Sloooow down there chief! We haven't won anything yet. I make no plans until the fourth game is won. Remember in 2003. Cubs lost game 6 with 5 outs to go. The news stations held up the Cubs NL champs t-shirts that were going to be handed out in the lockeroom that night. They talked about the plans for the Grant park rally that weekend before the World Series. None of that happened! No jinxing allowed!

I'm positive there was no alchohol involved in their demeanor.

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 07:12 AM) Non issue. It aint going to game 5. Even if it did, I see this as a ploy to get the White Sox focused on facing the Rocket, then pulling the switch at the last minute.

Sox @ Houston - World Series Game 3

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) Ok so it's Roy Oswalt we're up against. 12-2 with a 2.58 ERA in home games with a lower BAA and less ER, but he gave up 6 more home runs in home games, so he's susceptible to it, and hopefully we can take advantage of that. Since the ASB, Roy wasn't that good though. Had a 3.65 ERA with his BAA was .296, .62 higher than Pre ASG, so that also gives me hope. Lefties hit him better, with a .279 AVG, .32 higher than righties, and without Everett in the lineup, we're gonna need Pods and A.J especially to have good swings with the bat. He's terrible with RISP with 2 outs, 15.75 ERA, so hopefully that situation comes up a few times, and even if you get a runner on, a 4.68 ERA, so that's going to be a key, get on base anyway possible. He's pretty even ERA wise with his pitch counts, but with most pitchers you seem them better in the middle of their starts, say the 4th -5th inning etc., not really the case for Oswalt even though he's still pretty good. Up past 91 pitches, the ERA shoots up, so we need to work the counts and make him throw a lot of pitches. Seems to me he is a guy who generates his power through his wind-up and legs. Putting into the stretch may take away some of that power, thus the higher ERA with runners on. -
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 07:08 AM) It's GA in terms of the cost. Where are you sitting and did you get to request location? Ticketmaster assigned us our seat locale, though looking back I'm sure we could have went through our Blackhawk Season ticket rep. We were offered dinner beforehand in the Stadium Club of the United Center. So, that will be open, I guess. We are in 234. Which is where we wanted to be anyway.

It doesn't seem as serious as the title of the thread sounds. Sore arm from not being able to get loose enough during the cold. Standard arm fare for a pitcher. I'm sure he'll be ready for Game 6, if needed.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) I personally would like to see Harris get the start at 2nd tomorrow night, but I can completely understand maintaining the same lineup with the way we've been playing. Why??

QUOTE(wilmot825 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) I am sick of Jay Mariotti and his dumb comments. All season he trashed us, all playoffs he ripped us, and now he is no where to be found. Lets win a World Series for us and so we can throw it in Mariotti's face and Brantley's too. 2 more wins, Lets Go SOx! He's right here: http://www.suntimes.com/output/worldseries...-spt-jay24.html

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Dorothy, I'm revoking your membership card right now. Just tear it up. You're a disgrace. You know, now that you mention it, it has been a while. If they’d ever just pass that smoking ban in Chicago………. But if you're telling me that ol Kate isn't on the jukebox anymore, then an era has definitely passed. Uh, several eras, in fact. Nah, you'e just making that up. Better taste? You must be an effete Cubs fan. Wait, now I see. You’re in Los Angeles. I said “in the United States.” Never mind.

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Since Barbara Bush should be in her Diamond Club seats directly behind home plate, why not make a sign that says: The Chicago White Sox “This is working very well them” (But they promise to go home after sweeping)

QUOTE(GasHeGone @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) I came home for Georgetown University in Washington DC to watch Game 1...on TV. I have a lot of friends who have ridiculous seats on account of them being season ticket holders. I was kinda hoping someone might step it up and take me considering I came all the way home for the game, but I realized that these tickets were just too hot to be giving away. Anyways, I ended up watching the game at Morgan's on Roosevelt and Halsted and the place was absolutely electric. Jam packed...people banging cow bells, we were banging on the walls chanting anything from "BERNIE! BERNIE! BERNIE!" for Bernie Mac...to "SCOTTY! SCOTTY! SCOTTY!"...to "PAULIE! PAULIE! PAULIE!"...to The "Let's Go Go-Go White Sox" song. I felt like I was at the game and I felt a lot less sorry for my ticketless self. Any other stories of ticketless folks making the best of it? I like to tell myself that there are bigger tragedies in the world than me not being at a baseball game. Go Sox. Don't fret about it. As long as you are surrounded by Sox fans and having a great time you are in the middle of White Sox World Series Fever!! Enjoy it! -
How about something like "Houston, YOU have a problem!" Nobody thought of that one, yet!! Stay Classy and Clever
