  1. QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 07:38 PM) i. hate. super. rich. b****. people. Fine...then you can't come to out Polo party.
  2. I saw on Comcast that the Sox were taking Knuckleball Batting practice on Thursday. They didn't say who was throwing, though.
  3. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) why? You play your regulars in the playoffs until you clinch. I hope Ozzie doesn't put out one of his famous bench lineups. If they are up big in the late innings than yes or if they need a pinch runner but not to start. Did you see his "all right-handed" line-up against Wells? Nope He will play the regulars throughout the series.
  4. :headshake This Crede bashing is silly
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) "Huge".... Eh.. nope. Well, we don't know him as intimately as you...
  6. Just as long as JIM f***ING BELUSHI stays far away!! He's itching...I can sense it. He aches to get his mug photographed at Chicago playoffs. He was at the Cubs, the Bulls, the Bears and the Hawks when they were in the postseason. STAY AWAY!!! (he reads soxtalk.com, right?)
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) My entire apartment complex knows I am a White Sox fan now. Well, I guess that's better than what they used to think, eh?
  8. I stood up silent, fist raised high in the air as the ball left his bat. I soaked in the crowd noise around me at the Cell!! Interesting story though, from the first night. I was driving home from work (I couldn't go to the first game) and listening to the game on my car radio. I was at a stop light on Plainfield Rd and when Scotty hit his 3 run shot I pumped my fist and yelled: YEAH! Funny thing was five other cars around me did the same thing! Everyone turned around and acknowledged each other. Sox fans uniting, even at a stop light.
  9. Two of the greatest f***ING games I ever attended!!! They GOT TO DA CHOPPA!!!!
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 07:20 AM) All I have to say is when is the house warming party? As soon as I can get the wife out of town!
  11. What a month! Well, the missus and I closed on our spacious new home in suburban Downers Grove today. After all the stress of the Sox Sept slump and preparing to buy a home, it's great to have TWO happy endings within hours of each other! Now off to that "massage parlour" for a third!
  12. AJ's game winning HR vs. The Dodgers. That's the play that made us all believe!! AJ's walkoff homer!!
  13. YES YES YES!!!!!! This has been a blast all year!!! I couldn't imagine a better time than I had this year, especially sharing it with all of you!!! Let go Sox!!! See you all at Game 1!!
  14. Now that's the Smartball we were playing at the beginning!!
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 07:51 AM) If the Yankees win out, that means the Red Sox lose their last 3 games, and are knocked out of the wild card race with the Yankees winning the east. The Yankees winning the East also removes the Yankees from WC consideration leaving just us and Cleveland for the WC. And if we end up tied for the division and the wild card, it has already been well documented that the head to head record comes into play when both teams are guarenteed a playoff spot. Hopefully that makes sense. Now that makes sense. Thank you.
  16. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 05:13 AM) Its official. If we win tommorow CSN just reported we win the Central division. BECAUSE even if Cleveland wins there final 4 games they will end up w/ a matching 96-66 record and SINCE the Yanks and Red Sox play each other also- it would be impossible for both AL East teams to match that 96 win mark. And since the White Sox own the head-to-head record (11-5) the White Sox would win the Central division and the Wild Card winner would go to Cleveland. So its official- our Magic # is 1 ! We win tommorow- we are the Central Division Champs!!!!!!! Woooohoooooooooooooo If the Yanks win their final four games they have 96 wins. There are NO head-to-head tiebreakers in Baseball. Our magic number is 2! All we clinch with a win today is a tie for the division. We need Cleveland to lose tonight to clinch the division.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Ribbie the red sox do matter: Here's why, the redsox losing and us winning gives us the division, that would put us 4 up on them, meaning we cant have a worse record for them, meaning if they win out and we lose out, us and cleveland tie but since both teams of us are in the playoffs we win the division, due to us beating them head to head. The Red Sox are NOT in our division. They have nothing to do with us winning our division. It has nothing to do with math.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) Ok, here we go. If we win and the Indians or Red Sox lose then we clinch the division. The Red Sox have nothing to do with our division. Here it is: The Magic Number is 2 If the Sox win tomorrow, but Cleveland wins: The Sox clinch at least a tie for the Division. With the magic number at 1 If the Season ends in identical records, the Sox will play Cleveland in a one-game playoff in Cleveland. The winner wins the division. If the Sox win and Cleveland loses: The White Sox are central division champs!
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 07:43 AM) I think you have your browser pointed towards the wrong White Sox message board My post should have been in green, as it was meant all in jest. But I do agree about the "other board"
  20. Wouldn't it be funny if the major pessimists on this site who were railing against the Sox with exclamations of "The season is over!", "They'll miss the Playoffs!" or "Cleveland AL Central Champs and Boston WC champs" were banned for the first playoff game only. A symbolic gesture to say the bandwagon didn't have time to go back and pick them up before the first ALDS game.
  21. We were in the wildcard hunt until the end in 1997. Ah, Danny Tartabull...we hardly knew ye!
  22. QUOTE(WhiteSox311 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) Riiiiiggggghhhhhtttt Qwery is a Sox fan WS311, he is trying to jinx the tribe by rooting for them. Just so you know..
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) Pods is hurting. He is stretching his groin a lot.. They need to get him away from his fiancee!! That would stretch out my groin too much, also!
